I brought my family to stay at this hotel for new years eve and new years day. The hotel itself, is located right beside Texas Joe's so there are a lot of restaurants in the area. It was a quiet holiday and the hotel did the trick. It wasn't super special in terms of luxury and comfort but it was clean and, in Subic, if you've ever stayed there, you understand that hotels are "hit or miss" and this one was a hit. What really set this experience apart from others was the service and staff. As cliché as it sounds, this makes the world of a difference. First, upon checking in, we thought a bag was missing and their staff was very accommodating in looking for it and even allowing us to review the CCTV footage. Zero complaints or gripes from them - especially since we realized it was our fault and we left the bag in another location. Then extra pillows were requested without any hesitation and even cleanups that were our fault and needed additional attention were attended to by Reynald Pastrano as if it was his pleasure to do such things. Hard to find that kind of dedication these days. Then when we tried to go to a beach, we realized that you have to be an early bird as they were all filled up by 11am so after checking 4 beaches, we went back home to swim. The pool wasn't warm but clean and refreshing nonetheless and what stood out was the lifeguard (Kuya Oscar) who made sure everyone took a shower first, made sure kids weren't overly rowdy and were behaved and was very active in his surveillance of the pool and its users. We felt very safe and this is unusual to see a lifeguard take their job so serious. In my 20 years in the Philippines, I have never seen someone take this much pride in this position. This is especially comforting because I stayed in Subic at another hotel for new years in 2017 and actually had to save a toddler myself from drowning in a pool that had no lifeguard and some very distracted parents. Then the biggest asset of this hotel was their Front Office Supervisor, Erron Paul Manalili. He made us feel very welcomed from start to finish and by the end of our 3 day/2 night stay, we felt closer to him just because he was so proactive in his pleasant engagements with us. 5-star service that brought the level of our experience up - this is what more people in the service industry need to understand. We have stayed in many amazing hotels and this one is able to join the conversation simply because their service was a cut above. Just thought it was worth sharing.…
First thing we've noticed upon alighting from our vehicle was the pool. It's small and more like a garden pond. It's right next to the parking lot and the only separating the two is a wire fence. Second is the room. It's clean but it certainly lacks the practical design fit for a guest. My bed was placed directly under a hanging lamp. Also, the shower area does not have the proper dimension. Too cramped and the water spills over to the toilet flooring. Third is the grand ballroom. It stinks. It smells like wet earth. The carpet and the wall panels are stained and the a/c smells like dried up spit balls. Fourth, if you are sharing a room, they do not give you the option to have a secondary key card. You'd have to leave your card at the front desk for the others to pick up. Fifth, their food is not too appetizing well at least for our experience. The pastry/bread is dry. Rice is undercooked, and their food serving is for birds. Literally, the guy gave one spoon (not even full) serving of sauteed bean sprouts, and 1 thin slice of chicken roll (about 1 inch in diameter and 1/5th inch thick.), and same serving for pork roll. There is no city or ocean view. For the price it is charging, I wouldnt recommend this place. …
Very nice place.. great people!!! Would recommend very highly!! Definitely will come back again and again.Feels like home😁 Close to all things in SBMA. Recommend to everyone.Very nice pool and very secure. Love this place!!!
The rooms in the building next to the pool are not as pretty as the ones in the main building. Our room did not have a window which bothered me at some point because we stayed there for three days. We were having our workshop at the grandball. The AC got too cold at some point and when we tried to adjust it, we realized it was one those machines that had a mind of its own. Eventually the temp got bearable and ok but we already had sore throats and migraines. In three days time, the formulaic food served to us got tiring. But we enjoyed the maja blanca. If you are a vegetarian, the veggie recipes are not something to look forward too. Once all of the food recipes had cream in it. We joked about it saying good luck to each for the possible stomach grumbles later. I liked that the staff were polite and really did their job well. Our room was cleaned up everyday. My partner was bothered because even though the sign in the bath said that if we want to reuse our towels we can leave them at the rack and they will not replace them, yet they changed those everyday. I thought it was funny that their efforts for conservation seem to be unheeded in practice. On the first day we were surprised that somebody cleaned our room even though we did not leave the room service sign. None of our things got lost though. Still it was creepy that we did not seem to have a choice on whether we wanted someone to enter our room or not. So i left my bra in the bath because i was still not used to the automatic housekeeping. I liked our stay overall. The hotel was clean. It was close to the bay. The food can improve if the chef gets creative and get out of the formula. …
The room was worth it for the price. It is a walking distance from the beach and nice restaurants. The buffet complimentary breakfast was good. There is ample parking. The pool is clean and shallow enough for young kids. The staff if friendly and helpful.
