Detailed Reviews
I took my vacation back in Manila on May 14 and off to Subic with my family and pet shih tzu. We chose this hotel out of 2 hotels which can accept pet. We thought the place was nice with accomodating staffs. The swimming pool was clean and 'twas just the right place for a family. The foods are ok with us though. But we didn't get the full relaxation at night because our pet was not comfortable and tend to make a noise which was not allowed to stayed in our room that was put beside the guard post located at the car park. Shih tzu is a small breed dog, a very friendly and nonaggressive dog that used to sleeps with my kids, besides their bed. Sad to say that we agreed on this arrangement because it was too late for us to go back to Manila. I just explained to my kids that this was only for one night. We explained it with on duty receptionist but failed to get granted to let our pet to sleep for a couple of hours in our room. So what happened was, I and my wife stayed awake at the car park! to make our pet calm which was not use to sleep seeing people walking around. Until we decided to put it inside our SUV where our pet slept. I partly openned the window for ventilation. So finally I and my wife slept for a few hours and check out as early as we could. I understand that the hotel management didn't like to make any disturbance with other occupants but I hope they should have at least some consideration for small breed of dog and at least they should have researched it what is the personality of that kind of breed before making any decisions. It was also my fault to allowed it to happened. I thought of the noise that was made on that night should have disturbed other occupants already because their car park was under the hotel annex building. Only if they have just allowed us to brought our pet inside our room everybody would be in good sleep. Anyway I definetely like to stay there without our pet...

Response from sglsubic, Manager at Seorabeol Grand Leisure Hotel
Responded Jun 15, 2011
Dear Sir Vince; We are sad to hear about your experience. Please know that it is not the management's intention to cause you any discomfort. Actually, we are not supposed to allow pets inside the room regardless of the kind of breed, primarily because of noise and allergies since not everyone can afford to be around dogs or any pet for that matter. We believe your pet may have been accommodated at the guard station because of this. Sadly this is the most we can do for now since the hotel do not have rooms with provision for pet care. Anyway, we hope this will not stop you from coming back. best regard, The Management

Hi guys, just stayed here recently and here's my unbiased opinion...
Reservation:
Pro: Can be arranged via email or phone. The Sales Consultant (Marjs Zapanta) readily replies to your concern.
Con: None
Room:
Pro: My wife, young daughter and I stayed at the standard room. It has a tv (w/ cable), small ref and the aircon was cool (literally). Hot water in the bathroom is sufficient.
Con: This was actually the second room we were assigned in. The first one had a dirty toilet bowl and housekeeping had to clean it in a hurry. It's a good thing there was a spare room available.
Food:
Pro: Complimentary breakfast was buffet. The two mornings we stayed they prepared different sets. First morning we had fried rice, scrambled eggs, corned beef and boneless bangus. The second one we had fried rice, scrambled eggs, sausages and chicken adobo.
Con: Just don't expect fancy food, coffee is instant.
Staff:
Pro: Generally friendly including the guard on duty at the parking (I gave this guy a tip when we checked out).
Con: Almost nothing.
Pool:
It was raining hard and we were tired we never had a chance to swim on it. But the size is ok and the kids who were swimming seem to be enjoying.
Parking:
Pro: If you're lucky you can have a spot in the covered parking.
Con: Otherwise your car stays outside the vicinity of the hotel.

The room we got was nice and big (I think it's a suite). But the regular room was dark and looked old. The pool was also nice and very child friendly because there are areas that are only 2ft deep. However the music in the pool area was quite loud. The staff at the front desk were nice and accommodating. The breakfast was not bad also. We traveled with children who were picky eaters so we were supposed to order ala carte for breakfast but the management wouldn't allow that. They wanted everybody to avail of the buffet breakfast which costed Php 385 for 8yrs old and above and Php 240 for kids 3-7. A hotel with no ala carte breakfast?! The kids only eat eggs and plain rice! They were so inflexible with the rules! The food served during dinner was also not good so I recommend dining out.

Responded Jun 11, 2015
Thank you for all your input Ma'am. We hope we could have remedied the situation better when you were here. On regular days, we really serve ala carte breakfast except on days when the complimentary meal is buffet. Anyway, all these concerns have been discussed some management meetings for some adjustments on the hotel policies. We apologize also for the late response cause we have a hard time recovering the page for some reason. Thank you and have a good day!.

I brought my family to stay at this hotel for new years eve and new years day. The hotel itself, is located right beside Texas Joe's so there are a lot of restaurants in the area.
It was a quiet holiday and the hotel did the trick. It wasn't super special in terms of luxury and comfort but it was clean and, in Subic, if you've ever stayed there, you understand that hotels are "hit or miss" and this one was a hit.
What really set this experience apart from others was the service and staff. As cliché as it sounds, this makes the world of a difference.
First, upon checking in, we thought a bag was missing and their staff was very accommodating in looking for it and even allowing us to review the CCTV footage. Zero complaints or gripes from them - especially since we realized it was our fault and we left the bag in another location.
Then extra pillows were requested without any hesitation and even cleanups that were our fault and needed additional attention were attended to by Reynald Pastrano as if it was his pleasure to do such things. Hard to find that kind of dedication these days.
Then when we tried to go to a beach, we realized that you have to be an early bird as they were all filled up by 11am so after checking 4 beaches, we went back home to swim.
The pool wasn't warm but clean and refreshing nonetheless and what stood out was the lifeguard (Kuya Oscar) who made sure everyone took a shower first, made sure kids weren't overly rowdy and were behaved and was very active in his surveillance of the pool and its users. We felt very safe and this is unusual to see a lifeguard take their job so serious. In my 20 years in the Philippines, I have never seen someone take this much pride in this position. This is especially comforting because I stayed in Subic at another hotel for new years in 2017 and actually had to save a toddler myself from drowning in a pool that had no lifeguard and some very distracted parents.
Then the biggest asset of this hotel was their Front Office Supervisor, Erron Paul Manalili. He made us feel very welcomed from start to finish and by the end of our 3 day/2 night stay, we felt closer to him just because he was so proactive in his pleasant engagements with us. 5-star service that brought the level of our experience up - this is what more people in the service industry need to understand.
We have stayed in many amazing hotels and this one is able to join the conversation simply because their service was a cut above.
Just thought it was worth sharing.

Value for Money. Cleanliness. Staff are very accommodating and helpful. I love the food at Nicco's restaurant. Very accessible. Near the bay area. Besides Texas Joe's, the best restaurant in town. My kids loves the pool. Nice lobby. I will definitely recommend the place. Parking is not a problem, its huge. They gave an indoor and out door parking.

I did not stay here but the way their reservations staff act, there's no way I would consider this hotel in any of our future visits to Subic. I supposedly would book three rooms for two nights so I requested the male reservation staff to email me a copy of the hotel voucher with the hotel's bank details. I waited for a day and called them again the following morning to remind the staff to send me the voucher. I waited until the afternoon for them to send the voucher but I received none. I called them the third time and another male staff was clueless about my request. I ended up not booking the three rooms and thankful that I got a better hotel within the boardwalk area with prompt reservations officers. Boo!

We stayed here last June 6 just for 1 night. We booked there family room for 5500. When we're about to check out, the concierge said that the rate is +20%.She said the flyer that they have us is only for weekdays. Gusto ko na sanang magcomplain but I didn't because we're all exhausted. We paid 7000php for a crappy room. The shelves of the cabinet at really dusty. The doors of the cabinets don't close properly and the bed are all covered with PLASTIC! But their staffs are very polite and provided great service. Cant complaint with that. The hotel needs renovations.

Our family of 6 arrived on the afternoon of July 29, 2011 to stay two nights in a "family room" The first inkling that we would have a problem was when the desk clerk informed me that we had been booked for only one night and the room was reserved for another on the following day. After showing my concern at this mix-up I was assured that our room would be booked for the original two nights. It was raining hard when we arrived, and to get to our room on the third floor annex we had to go through stairs wet from a leaking roof (I don't think there was an elevator). The room smelled of mold, the bathroom lights were so dim you could hardly see, there was no shower curtain, the sheets were dusty, the aircon in the main room did not work, the toilet seat in the main bathroom had wobbly lids, it had HAIR on the floor, and worst of all, there was a leak in the ceiling where rainwater fell on one of the beds! Needless to say, even as management knew that this room was to be occupied, it sure looked like NO ONE had entered that room for more than a month to ensure that all was in order for a guest's comfort. We left the hotel within an hour after arriving feeling disgusted at such inefficiency and lack of concern. Fortunately there were vacancies in the Court Meridian (formerly the Courtyard Inn) - a superior, well-maintained lodging just a few steps down from the Searabeol. This hotel needs a management overhaul.

Dear Sir; On behalf of the entire staff of the hotel, we wish to convey our apologies for the inconvenience which has been caused to you. We appreciate that you made us realize that we have lapsed in our services when you were assigned a room not in the desired state or that there was a mix up with the room assignments to begin with. The management has looked closely on this and prompt action has been taken. Still we express our heartfelt apologies for this regretful incident and assure you that such unfortunate experience will not occur in the future. Respectfully; The Management

They don’t serve vegan. Their vegie recipes in the buffet are not too exciting. They will make you miss eating meat.
I'm not sure. I didn't see any pets when we went there. Try to email them to be sure. Take care!
