We were looking forward to a third trip to the Ostrander's as they were an excellent B&B and mighty fine people. However, they informed us that because of Covid and their age, they have retired from the B&B business. Best wishes to them.

Beautiful grounds with sheep, pond, birds etc. Our room was clean and well equipped. The owners were very nice. The breakfasts were excellent. Wi-Fi and TV worked. Five minutes from Canton. Comfortable all around.

Rita and her husband are very friendly. This was our second time staying there. They only had a suite available at the time so they charged us the same rate as the single room cabin we had last time. It has a queen bed, two singles, private bathroom inside room and a TV. Also has an area to sit. Breakfasts are wonderful. You will never leave the table hungry. Rita makes homemade quiches, French toast, homemade jellies for the toast and lots of fresh fruit. I highly recommend staying there.

I needed a place to stay while visiting my daughter at St. Lawrence for a soccer banquet. The owners were friendly and very helpful. The room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. They have a wonderful property and the house was spotless. I am so happy to have a place to stay again when she returns to college in the Fall. Thanks to Rita and Alan!

We had a lovely three nights here. The accommodations are very comfortable and clean, and the breakfasts were outstanding. We enjoyed chatting with Rita and Al and petting their beautiful, shy sheep dog, Barb. And it was a real treat to wake up to songbirds right outside the windows.

A lovely quiet, welcoming house set in the midst of a beautifully green field. Charming. The upstairs large bedrooms had everything one could possibly want. Rita and Al, the hosts were fun as well as being helpful. I particularly liked the tour of the farm animals that Al gave us. It is obviously a place to return to and to tell your friends about.

We stayed in the pond house for three nights. The breakfast was the best we've ever had in a B&B. Evening desert delivery was also great. Sitting by the pond, reading and relaxing, just enjoying the quiet was such a delight. Rita is a most gracious host and cook. Al spent a lot of time giving us a tour of the farm.....learned a lot!

You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful weekend in Canton/Potsdam, and we couldn't possibly have found a more ideal spot than Ostrander's B&B. We stayed in the cozy Pond House- a spotless, well-appointed "cabin" with an extremely comfortable queen bed. We turned off the A/C and opened the windows to enjoy the sounds of the frogs at night. Breakfasts were a fantastic array of farm-fresh egg dishes, home baking, fresh fruit, yogurt, and juices, and the bedtime treats were a great little touch at the end of the day. Rita and Al were friendly and interesting hosts... The website photos don't capture the full charm of the property!

We recently spent 3 nights in the Pond House. We have stayed in many B&B's throughout the US and Canada and have to give this a perfect 10. Our accomodation held everything we could have wanted and was immaculate. Rita's breakfasts are outstanding and the view of the birds at the bird feeders outside the breakfast area was wonderful. I spent many hours enjoying the pond and fountain. Al graciously gave me a tour of the barn, explaining all the equipment and showing me the sheep, long eared goats, chickens, barn cats, etc. It is evident that the Ostranders give 100% in satisfying their guests. Super clean, quiet location, lovely accomodation, great service and super value all made for a very nice stay. Loved it!
