Detailed Reviews
Recommended by friends we were looking forward to our romantic break. When we arrived we were a little disappointed because the person on reception didn't explain anything and there was nothing in the room to outline amenties and how things worked. That all changed when we met Angela the next morning. She was absolutely fantastic. When we asked about using the firepit not only did she organize the wood she also lit it for us and provided blankets so we could stay late in to the night staring at the stars. On our second night she had bought some higher quality wood so that it burnt longer! She also brought us some plates and knives so we we could enjoy the food we had bought locally. Our room was beautifully decorated but it lacked some basics like a chest of drawers and as the rooms are not large it was logistically difficult as we brought enough for a week! Grounds are beautiful and I can imagine it would be a great location for a wedding but if you are going as a couple make sure you check out ahead of time what is in the room and what is available if you ask. For owners of the hotel would suggest that you provide a list of things that are available rather than expect clients to work it out. Also don't let Angela go! She made our few days there.

My husband and I stayed here on the night of our wedding. Prior to arriving, I had received a phone call from a woman stating we had been upgraded, at no cost to us, as she knew we were celebrating and wanted to do something nice for us! My girlfriends had called ahead, requesting champagne and flowers be placed in the room, and from the photo you can see it was done so. The grounds are very beautiful and it is in a perfect location. Would absolutely recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at A Room at the Beach! The team made us feel extremely welcome from day 1.
Our room was small but extremely cozy and the space is really optimized for comfort. The grounds of the hotels are gorgeous. We loved hanging out by the pool, having breakfast on our deck, and relaxing on the lawn.
The owners also lent us a beach parking pass and beach chairs and an umbrella, which made our beach days much more enjoyable than they otherwise would have been.
Overall, we cannot recommend this hotel enough and we will be sure to go back next time we're in the Hamptons!

The room is small and shabby, but I could handle that. The door, oddly, has window panes at top. Which were painted blue, in a poor effort to block the light. The light on the front porch stays on, and the light just pours into the room, so very hard to get to sleep. The back door is all glass, covered with this paper thing material, so that light wakes you at dawn.
The bed was reasonably comfortable, but the pillows were dead and worn out.
Shower was fine, and vanity also ok. A bit odd, but fine.
The grounds were very special and the plantings along the front porch was really nice. We arrived kind of late and the hostess stayed a to wait for us. Which I suppose is nice, expect it was a hotel so why would they be doing us a favor by having someone to check us in.
This was a one and done for us. I know the hotel opportunities are limited but this could have been so much better. There are some good bed & breakfast that are much much better than this.

We will definitely be back! My hubby, pup and I had a very nice stay here. We were in the room with the nice big tub. I love the decor and the hotel grounds. They offered fresh orange juice plus muffins in morning and wine in the afternoons.
It is walking distance from restaurants and shops.
The walls are a bit thin but we didn't mind since we slept like a log. Our coffee maker didn't work the first time and they promptly replaced it.

My daughter and I did an overnight at the property- the room was terrific, bed so comfortable and lots of light. The deck outside the room is very private and a great place to hang out. The location although right on 27 seems very private and secluded.
My only complaint would be that the pool needs to be cleaned out more- leaves and sand in it. Other than that, super friendly and helpful staff. We will stay here again!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Room at the Beach. We have stayed at many hotels and Inns in The Hamptons and this by far was our favorite stay. We loved the low key elegance and the thoughtful touches. The rose wine offered to guests was a hit , a candle in the lovely room for lighting , the serene nature of the property and the thoughtful staff . Angela and Jose made our stay extra special . They are both beyond excellent at their jobs.

First the good. Gardens and grounds are well planned and maintained. Now the bad. Friendly but clueless. Room poorly planned with no surfaces to put clothing or bathroom items on. Comfortable bed but in our room the shower splashed onto a ladder leaned against the wall holding the towels. Telephone in the room was dead. Bedframe heavily stained as was the settee and carpet in the room. Blackout curtains do not cover the window. Our tv could not be used to watch basic channels. The minibar was empty. It was like being in a motel run by college students without professional experience.

This place is such a gem. My only compliant is I didn’t stay long enough! Angela was amazing at check in and throughout the stay. We had the pool to ourselves and the grounds were beautiful. Each room has its own front porch area and we also had private backyard through our shower. Highly suggest staying here! Would make a gorgeous wedding venue as well.

Really cute hotel.. rooms are so nice and clean with private back patios in every room. They also provide beach parking passes which is fantastic. Def recommend this place and it’s in the perfect location to easily get to east and sag harbor too and unlimited rose can’t beat It.
