Detailed Reviews
Such a beautiful spot in the Okavango Delta.
The tented camp is perfect with stunning views, we stayed in a large tent with an ensuite bathroom, the beds and linen are superb and the bathroom is very modern with a fabulous shower and permanent hot water heated the old fashioned way with a donkey boiler.
We had a lovely outside balcony which was a lovely spot to read a book.
The main tent had a sitting room and dining area with full access to an all day bar so you can really help yourself to a GNT anytime of the day.
Lots of delicious food, 4 meals a day gracefully served by the wonderful staff that are always around if you need anything.
Everything is home cooked and the cakes need a special mention!
The camp is furnished with the families heirlooms passed through the generations which adds a nice authentic touch.
Everything is off the grid, so don’t expect to be able to spend time on your phone or to be able to work remotely - which i believe is a good thing to totally disconnect.
We loved our stay, 🙏

Small owner-run camp in Okavango Delta in NG32. Arrival by helicopter 10 minutes from Maun, by car more than 2 hours. Very familiar atmosphere with only a few tents. We were together with 3 other guests, but they mostly wanted to ride, so we actually had private game drives. Location directly on a small lagoon, which wakes you up in the early morning by the hippos, which you can observe, as well as elephants and buffaloes, also during the day directly close to the camp. Every now and then the animals, such as elephants or leopards, also walk between the tents directly through the camp.
Very friendly staff and excellent service, which also did not end with our departure: Willy, the local guide, was also very helpful when we took over our rental car for further stages and had to find our way around Maun first. Only charging smartphones and co was a bit of a challenge - having your own small PV charger would have been useful.

I spent seven unforgettable nights in this amazing camp. Such an authentic experience. A dream setting that felt like I was living in a romantic African movie. Beautiful staff and so much passion and thought put into every detail. The hot water bottles left in our beds each night at turn down was a lovely touch We rode horses each day with brilliant guides looking after us and also visited the local village with one of the staff which was fascinating. The surprise dinner and brunch the team put on in special locations for us were incredible. I hope to one day return to Cha Cha Metsi.

After traveling for 2 weeks through Botswana in beautiful lodges with the most welcoming people the final destination Cha Cha Metsi was BEYOND DISSAPOINTING in so many ways:
- Our tent was not clean, a full garbage bin from previous guest was there, when asking the staff no action was taken initially as they seem to have internal miss-communication which tent it was (keeping in mind there are only 6 tents).
- We selected the place as they were offering horse riding. Upon arrival I was informed by the camp manager that I could ride the horses every morning and afternoon if I wanted. That same evening it was not confirmed and during the 3 nights I was told every morning and afternoon I was going for a ride and when it was supposed to happen it didn't followed by excuses of sick, lame or unavailability of horses. Working with animals, this can happen but it's up to management how you communicatie this to your guest. Eventually I was able to ride in the afternoon for only 1,5h only walk on a horse that was skinny and felt tired. I was extremely disappointed as experienced rider.
When raising the issue with the owner, who personally also promised me I was going for a ride that never happened he kept saying sorry the horses are not my business, no compassion or genuine care we felt.
Conclusion: from management all the the way down apart from one lovely lady serving the breakfast, I experienced the staff being NOT well trained at or service oriented in any form.
We wanted to do Mokoro (kanoo) but heard from various other guest this was an unpleasant experience due to the large amount of hippo's in the water and the did not feel safe at all.
The camp offers as per the website walking safaris. This was not offered to us and based on the poor communication with the staff we decided not to even ask in the end the overall vibe was not that we felt in safe hands.
Mistakes can be make at any place where people work but how you deal with them is another thing, something that can make a huge difference in hospitality and this was unfortunately not the case at all at Cha Cha Metsi.
Bottomline, we experienced the camp no value for money, lack of hospitality and no friendliness of especially the owner. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, specially if interested in horses. Botswana is full of beautiful camps where hospitality, service and friendliness are genuine.

We traveled to Botswana in May 2024, stayed at ChaChaMetsi for 4 days and had the most wonderful time. It was just what we had expected in the Okavango Delta. The Camp is very familiar and wonderful furnished. The staff is well trained, very friendly and fulfills every wish. We had a wonderful supper with the owner who gave us an interesting inside view about the Life in Botswana and the Nature surrounding us. The Guides we had (Willie and Caltex) were just wonderful and we learned a lot from them.
We stayed in the Familyroom with our son and this was just perfect (although he is 25, there was enough space!)
We would come back immediately, ChaChaMetsi

What a gem of a place in the Okavango! The staff was incredibly attentive and kind. Cannot say enough about how wonderful Caltex, our guide, was. He clearly understood and appreciated the land and animals. We saw multiple prides of lions during our multiple drives, as well as numerous other animals. Our family was comfortable in the family tent, with views (and sounds) of the many hippos in the water in front of the tents. Food and drinks were delirious, both on the drives and back at the lodge. Would definitely return here for another incredible experience.

Cha Cha Metsi is a grand tour of what exceptional safari's should be like. Every small detail is thought about. Every corner of your experience is filled with attention to details. Game is plenty and the experience is classic, staying true to its name.

Incredible 3 nights spent here in conjunction with Ride Botswana it was amazing and would recommend. A sunrise over the water listening to the Hippos. Very attentive staff, food delicious. Riding in morning and afternoon seeing Giraffes, Elephants, Pumas, numerous antelopes and some beautiful birds .
