Once again without fail, MANGROVE impressed with their levels of service & quality of the establishment, staff , food & drinks. To date after traveling 15 years to the Philippines the Long Island Iced Tea is unbeatable. The restaurant staff seemed to remember my preferences at all times. At times the resort was packed but the staff managed a very large party very well. Lea at reception never fails to impress with her memory and she is always good at handling special request. A request for me to supply my own seafoods for the chef to cook was handled well & cooked as requested . check-in & check-out was seamless.

Our stay at Mangrove Resort in Baloy Beach was a complete letdown, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. First off, their website is a total rip-off. It says that kids above 7 years old are charged as adults, but they still insisted on charging for our 1-year-old and 5-year-old kids at check-in. It's a total scam, and I felt like I'd been taken for a ride. The staff at Mangrove Resort are useless, to put it mildly. When I asked to speak with the manager, the receptionist was no help at all and wouldn't even listen to my complaints. It's like they don't give a crap about their guests and just want to take your money and run. To top it all off, when I asked for a refund for the room I'd already paid for, they refused to give me my money back and made me upgrade instead. The upgraded room wasn't even worth it - there were light bulbs that didn't work, and the cable TV was messed up. Overall, my experience at Mangrove Resort was a total bust. Between their shady website, their useless staff, and their subpar accommodations, there's really no reason to stay here. Don't waste your money - go somewhere else!

Very good facility and rooms. Good food, good 1st and 3rd floor decks with ocean view. The problem is their website and photos show a great clean nice beach in the front of their hotel. This does no exist. If a beach attached to your hotel is important (as it was for us) then skip this hotel. We checked out after the first day because the beach in front of the hotel was the reason we chose this hotel and it is simply not there.

The facility is very nice. The staff are friendly: Building and rooms are clean and well maintained. View is nice. Food is great. The management photo of the beach is very deceptive. That beach isn’t there. I walked down the stairs and the beach has about 1 square meter of space. Dirty and basically unusable.

from the onset enquiring about my preferred room at this resort, its been top class with quick & professional responses. my previous special request & preferred room were confirmed quickly. the enclosed beach was clean & pristine and swept regularly. there were some staff changes to the serving staff but mostly the staff were as 2 yrs & 4 months when I last visited. the food servings were generous & fresh & very original. one day we purchased our own shrimp and requested the chef prepare Sinigang Shrimp & pan-fried butter shrimp which was AWESOME, every last morsel was devoured. I cannot recall a single dish that was disappointing. almost all items on the menu were available. like many Filipino establishments, no RED HORSE (local beer) was available. all fruit on the fresh fruit platter was fresh. brewed coffee was awesome. I remembered many staff who in turn done the same. at times when a taxi was required, the receptionist was quick to arrange. I'm sure to return to this little spot of HEAVEN. at no time did I encounter any noise / noisy guest in fact the locals who stayed went to bed early as they were up early enjoting the beach & ocean.

Love the view in this resort. A good place to stay to unwind and have a little walk by the shore. Family oriented resort. Thanks for the wonderful stay. Will definitely go back soon. The resort is situated in an accessible area.

Before I went there we searched for multiple reviews both from other social media platforms and TripAdvisor. The one in Instagram is more accurate than TripAdvisor sadly. Nobody mentioned that the beach itself or shoreline is only a few meters away from the actual place. The water itself is smelly and there are dog poops around. The room is ok and aircon is cold which I like but the bed is too stiff and the bathroom is smelly as well. Food serving is small and cost is high. Taste is not that great either. At least the staff are courteous. We ended up shortening our stay from 2 nights to just overnight only.

Safe cove if you have kids. That's about it. Room by the poolside can be noisy as peoples voices will bounce on all the concrete walls. I am not sure if there was a curfew. Some people were still noisy at night. The reception area is also the receiving area of the kitchen. It can be annoying when they check on the deliveries while you are also there :( The carpenter doing repair works on the pool deck did not care that there were guests. Can't they do repairs when no one is around???? Oh.. the shower is inside the room. That really did not make sense. So if the aircondition is on good luck.

Everything about the resort was great. The views, the service, the staff..the bedding was amazing also. Will 100% be staying there again. The one annoyance we had and others who were staying next to us were the constant people outside the entrance hounding us to buy things. They would actually wait for us all day..sometimes they would go on the beach and if they saw us on the balcony they would yell up to us to come down "we are waiting for you to buy from us sir" Naturally you are friendly so upon arrival you nod and say hello on your way in...apparently that is local vendor code for -please stalk our every move-. This was an issue , whenever we wanted to leave we would have to make sure they werent looking. If they were there , they would follow us to the highway while we walked. Other than that issue it was a great stay. I would just advise not to even acknowledge any of the vendors.

I have stayed at the Mangrove on 6 different trips and it is always a great stay. The location is ideal as it is easy to walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. The pool at the resort is clean and refreshing as is the beach at the resort. They continue to make improvements at the resort. From work on the rooms to added items to menu. The staff is always great and help to create a very welcome environment. The rooms are very clean and spacious with nice views.
