Another excellent time over Christmas and new year. Despite the busy season all the staff from reception, to waitresses, kitchen and cleaning staff always attentive and helpful often anticipating our needs. The beach was clean and swept daily, boat rides and jet skis available. The food is purchased almost daily so is very fresh and well presented and cooked. Good TV and fast WiFi throughout. Would thoroughly recommend for anybody wanting a weekend away. Reception can quickly organize transport and there are a couple of supermarkets only 5 minutes walk away.

from the onset enquiring about my preferred room at this resort, its been top class with quick & professional responses. my previous special request & preferred room were confirmed quickly.
the enclosed beach was clean & pristine and swept regularly.
there were some staff changes to the serving staff but mostly the staff were as 2 yrs & 4 months when I last visited.
the food servings were generous & fresh & very original.
one day we purchased our own shrimp and requested the chef prepare Sinigang Shrimp & pan-fried butter shrimp which was AWESOME, every last morsel was devoured.
I cannot recall a single dish that was disappointing.
almost all items on the menu were available.
like many Filipino establishments, no RED HORSE (local beer) was available.
all fruit on the fresh fruit platter was fresh.
brewed coffee was awesome.

I remembered many staff who in turn done the same.
at times when a taxi was required, the receptionist was quick to arrange.

I'm sure to return to this little spot of HEAVEN.

at no time did I encounter any noise / noisy guest in fact the locals who stayed went to bed early as they were up early enjoting the beach & ocean.

Great location. Friendly staff.
View of the beach is breathtaking. Pool is very clean.
WiFi is not that strong but is expected if you want to de-stress from social media and just enjoy nature and the resort's amenities.
New year party was very lively, song selection by the Band was excellent and everyone enjoyed the set. The Pinoy Freddie Mercury was very entertaining.
Highly recommended especially for families.

Went on a quick trip before the peak of people for holy week break. Peaceful and not chaotic ad there were less people. The room we booked was by the pool. It was spacious. The pool was filled with people during afternoon but it was not so noisy in our room. You will hear people in the pool but not so clear and you can still have a good nap time. We went here with my 2 yo, btw.

The place is almost at the end, if not the end, of the “long beach”. So, if you’re planning to have other side trips in Subic, manage your time well.

You cannot bring in food and drinks, but we are allowed to have our daughter’s snacks and own water. Their food were also good and good for sharing. We liked their pancit. They have complimentary bottled water for the max number of person per room, though ours was not given upfront, we have to asked for it in the reception. They said it was forgotten when they cleaned the room.

They provided robes, towels and tissue paper. Other than that, no other toiletries provided like sanitary kits or dental kits which usual hotel by its kind provide. The shampoo and body wash were not even filled.

I don’t see it as a 4-star hotel as describe here, probably 3 will do. We always have to asked for something that should at least be in the room.

Our room has separate toilet and shower area. Shower area doesn’t have door, just curtain. It does not have a tub, but they provided us pail when we asked coz its kinda hard to bathe a toddler with just shower given that it only have a curtain before your bed. We do not want to sleep in wet bed. 😂 The bed was comfy and good to sleep with.

The pool water is refreshing, cold but not so cold. The baby side of the pool has warm water due to direct sunlight. It has a small beach area. Not really swimming friendly as there was a big boat parked at the side aside from the gray platform where the motor boat was parked on the other side. There were people that will offer you different activities like island hoping, jet ski, etc.

Overall, we still have a comfy stay and good food. The staffs were courteous and nice too.

I have stayed in several hotels in Barrio Barretto over the years and this is by far the best. My room was immaculate with an excellent shower and lots of hot water. There's a good restaurant; very suitable for families as it is quiet with lots of space and a great view out over the bay. If you want something with a bit more going on, the Blue Rock is around the corner.

The only significant negative was the ongoing building work during the day - adding a fifth floor as far as I could make out. It will be interesting to see whether an elevator is added - it needs one!

Safe cove if you have kids. That's about it.

Room by the poolside can be noisy as peoples voices will bounce on all the concrete walls. I am not sure if there was a curfew. Some people were still noisy at night.

The reception area is also the receiving area of the kitchen. It can be annoying when they check on the deliveries while you are also there :(

The carpenter doing repair works on the pool deck did not care that there were guests. Can't they do repairs when no one is around????

Oh.. the shower is inside the room. That really did not make sense. So if the aircondition is on good luck.

Everything about the resort was great. The views, the service, the staff..the bedding was amazing also.
Will 100% be staying there again.
The one annoyance we had and others who were staying next to us were the constant people outside the entrance hounding us to buy things. They would actually wait for us all day..sometimes they would go on the beach and if they saw us on the balcony they would yell up to us to come down "we are waiting for you to buy from us sir"
Naturally you are friendly so upon arrival you nod and say hello on your way in...apparently that is local vendor code for -please stalk our every move-.
This was an issue , whenever we wanted to leave we would have to make sure they werent looking. If they were there , they would follow us to the highway while we walked.

Other than that issue it was a great stay. I would just advise not to even acknowledge any of the vendors.

Once again without fail, MANGROVE impressed with their levels of service & quality of the establishment, staff , food & drinks.
To date after traveling 15 years to the Philippines the Long Island Iced Tea is unbeatable.

The restaurant staff seemed to remember my preferences at all times.

At times the resort was packed but the staff managed a very large party very well.

Lea at reception never fails to impress with her memory and she is always good at handling special request.

A request for me to supply my own seafoods for the chef to cook was handled well & cooked as requested .

check-in & check-out was seamless.

We had a short family vacation with our son and his fiancee. We arrived Monday to Wednesday of Holy Week since we wanted to beat the beach goers.

We were given Room 201 which was a private ocean view end unit. Our balcony was separated from the other rooms. We had 2 king beds and the room was huge. It had a shower and toilet.

The hotel was clean including the public areas. It was not open to the Public (none hotel guest) which made this place more special.

Hospitality:
I give 5 star to the staff most specially the old parking attendant that always greeted us when we arrived and left.

Needs Improvement:
1) The refrigerator was not cold. We had to purchase ice from outside.

2) There were tiny ants on the bed. Housekeeping was so kind to offer to spray the room but we declined for our safety.

I have stayed at the Mangrove on 6 different trips and it is always a great stay. The location is ideal as it is easy to walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. The pool at the resort is clean and refreshing as is the beach at the resort. They continue to make improvements at the resort. From work on the rooms to added items to menu. The staff is always great and help to create a very welcome environment.
The rooms are very clean and spacious with nice views.

Go to victory liner in Pasay. Not so far from MoA and airport get a bus that goes to subic or Olongapo and you can take a trike from there or arrange a pick up from the hotel
