Positive -- good location -- right on the beach. Literally tables with your feet in the sand. Unfortunately, that is the only positive. Food was not good -- soggy fries, tuna sandwich that was so wet it was as if they did not drain the can and just poured it on bread, etc. Much of menu not actually available but maybe that is a good thing. Breakfast is not served until 8 (weird a dive resort does not serve breakfast, so you do not have time to eat, digest, then dive). No one showed up to make it the first morning, so we gave up at 8:40 as I had dives scheduled at 9. I only did 1 dive (planned on 2 in the a.m.) as I was not comfortable with the dive master who at times seemed to forget he was a guide for a relatively new diver. We got the huge private family room with terrace so we could have our own space in the time of COVID only to have the staffs' laundry drying on the terrace (understand need to dry your clothes but surprised to see someone walking across the terrace while in the room changing). Worse was that we had no water repeatedly during our 2.5 days and one of us had to go down and tell them so someone could go on the roof or do something else to get our water on. We understand from others in the area while we were visiting that Johan passed away during the pandemic -- sad news but perhaps explains why things have gone off the rails.

Dropped by here for 2 meals. 1st time the waitress was accommodating but the food is overpriced. Unseasoned fries with cheap mayonnaise/mayomagic. A guy staff kept staring at my wife. 2nd time was the worst. When we went in to ask for service ,they literally said "what do you want?" WTF is that? Then we got the menubook. I went back to order and received the same attitude. What in the world did they have for breakfast to be that grumpy? The waitress kept on insisting to get our room number when I already repeatedly said we were not booked in their hotel. Then the same girl followed me to our table and asked in a rude tone, "Did you bring food or drink from outside? Hide it because we don't allow that here." Such rude people. Iced tea was not even stirred enough to melt all the Nestea powder they've put in it. Pizza just came. P270 for a 9 inch, premade crust, i even bet this is premade frozen pizza, ketchup based sauce, not even mozarella cheese. Sad sad pizza. I will never recommend this place to anyone anytime.

we booked via Agoda because of an emergency meeting at Subic Town, we found Johan Beach Resort. Pros: 1. great beach front 2. a array of international cuisine 3. Room is more than enough for us 4. water pressure at the bathroom is more than enough (even though we are staying at the 2nd floor 5. Billiard table is available 6. very accommodating and friendly staff Cons, since we booked at Agoda, we were clueless at the room we were getting. the booked room ay Agoda has a shared Comfort Room and small for four of us, the receptionist offer an bigger room with additional cost ( the additional cost is almost the price of another room. Even with the additional cost, i will still recommend this resort. nice place, great people, enjoyable stay!!

I stayed here in Feb 2020 as my 2nd week of a 2 week holiday, and met my friends, who stayed here in Feb 2019. My room good (i did book the cheap room), whilst the decour was plain (i dont need a fancy pained room to be honest), it was clean, was a good size and hadgood bed, tv, air-con and fan, so all the important things I needed. No cupboard, but then as most people who stay here, like me, live in shorts and t-shirts, no cupboard wasnt an issue at all. The location is good, the food wonderful, the hospitality of the staff is just excellent, always helpful and friendly, and they go above and beyond to help you - as in getting fresh mussels for us. Its a very friendly, relaxed hotel, on the beach, nothing is too much for them, its treat to stay here. My friends stayed in the beach huts and said they were really nice. Its such a nice place to stay, i have kept their email on my account, as i plan to book again for Feb 2021, if world pandemic issues allow. So a big thank you to all at Johans for a wonderful holiday - hope to see you again in a few months time.

Absolutely fantastic three weeks here, all staff were really friendly and helpful, huge menu with good coffee and great food, superb diving, town a short trike ride away. not luxury resort, more like a home from home in Baloy beach, hope to be back next year.
