I stayed here in Feb 2020 as my 2nd week of a 2 week holiday, and met my friends, who stayed here in Feb 2019. My room good (i did book the cheap room), whilst the decour was plain (i dont need a fancy pained room to be honest), it was clean, was a good size and hadgood bed, tv, air-con and fan, so all the important things I needed. No cupboard, but then as most people who stay here, like me, live in shorts and t-shirts, no cupboard wasnt an issue at all. The location is good, the food wonderful, the hospitality of the staff is just excellent, always helpful and friendly, and they go above and beyond to help you - as in getting fresh mussels for us. Its a very friendly, relaxed hotel, on the beach, nothing is too much for them, its treat to stay here. My friends stayed in the beach huts and said they were really nice. Its such a nice place to stay, i have kept their email on my account, as i plan to book again for Feb 2021, if world pandemic issues allow. So a big thank you to all at Johans for a wonderful holiday - hope to see you again in a few months time.…
Absolutely fantastic three weeks here, all staff were really friendly and helpful, huge menu with good coffee and great food, superb diving, town a short trike ride away. not luxury resort, more like a home from home in Baloy beach, hope to be back next year.
This was a return visit and just to use the restaurant The food was good as always and the staff were their usual good happy self The new building is well kept and tidy with a great sea view restaurant area
We arrived from Hagonoy fairly early and had a walk around the town before walking down the beach to the waterfront side of the resort. When we made certain they was expecting us they offered to hold our belongings until check in time so we got to do some more exploring. We upgraded to a Nipa hut for only 300 peso more and was well worth it. Air conditioning and our own bathroom was kind of unexpected. The staff was helpful and catered to our needs. One man I talked to down the beach asked where we was staying and when I told him Johan's, he said "They are good people." For me it was not a diving trip but they appeared to be fully stocked for it. It was a very memorable experience and I will be sure to visit again when I get back to Subic Bay!
Classic bait and switch. Booked a family room online. Arrived at Johan's and was told that they were fully booked and had no record of my reservation even though my credit card had already been charged. They were quick to find alternative accommodations at a lesser facility which had no working wifi, broken tv, totally uncomfortable bed & pillows and could not provide a room rate sheet. Felt totally abused and ripped off. I've since read other reviews and Johan's has done this to others before. Don't stay at Johan's Beach and Dive at any price.
