This is the most expensive hotel in the area, but the it was clearly the most modern, and clean place in the area. The staff were all very polite, and helpful. The food at the bar was good, but not spectacular. But, after being in the Philippines for a few weeks, you realize that just don't have American style ingrediants to make decent pizza etc. They have free internet access, but if you want to use it in your room, bring your own ethernet cable. They have a few cables , but not many. WiFi is in the bar area. The only downside to our trip was the travel agency in the hotel. They seriously screwed up our trip to the one hundred islands. They put us in a resort no where near the one hundred islands area. I absolutley stay here again.
I stayed at Wild Orchid Beach Resort for three days during a motorcycle tour around the Philippines. Subic is attempting to move upscale and the Orchid--sister to the equally-nice Wild Orchid in Angeles City--sets a good standard for a higher end hotel. I paid about $85USD per night for a beachfront suite, with wireless, inroom safe, jacuzzi tub and flat screen TV. These beach front suites are actually across an alley from the primary hotel, and noisy beach parties and group karaoke nights made this a less than tranquil spot unless you come home late from the Subic bars. The Orchid has a great restaurant, and an overabundance of very attentive staff. The swimming pool was one of the nicest I saw on my tour, with a long arm for laps and a couple of warm bubble pools.
