My fiancée, son, 2 dogs & I spent a 4 night Valentine's weekend at Arizona Beach Resort, Subic Bay, Philippines and we had a fabulous time. Our family room with sea view was spacious, clean and very private, with privacy glass deflecting the sun and anyone on the beach from seeing in.
The owner/manager, Wayne, his lovely family & all the staff were excellent, always smiling, happy, attentive, accommodating and more than happy to arrange all our requests & watersport activities. The food was excellent, large portions, fresh & tasty and the beach was nicely combed each morning, indeed Wayne spent much part of every day picking up other people's trash. Wayne's wife & staff arranged a fabulous romantic ambiance for Valentine's Day.
Security was tight and the sports bar was superb. Yes, there were some very elegantly dressed girls who made both myself & fiancée feel most welcome, even cheering & applauding when her Valentine's flowers & gifts were delivered during our game of pool on their superbly kept billiard table. Two of the girls even joined us for few a games of doubles...and beat us!
I have nothing but good to say about Arizona Beach Resort, we (including our dogs) felt right at home. This is our new go to place in Subic - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It has been three years since my last visit and this was my first “post-pandemic” stay. While the hotel is under new ownership, many of my favorite employees are still working and they remain as friendly and as helpful as always. I stayed in Room 32 which has a great beach view and it is also a nicely furnished room with a large bathroom and a hot/cold water dispenser. The room also has a large screen TV with cable service.

I read a previous review critical of the new owner and I have to say that my interaction with Wayne was the complete opposite. Wayne was exceptionally attentive to the needs of our stay. He was always asking how our night/day was going if and we had any problems or concerns. When we reported an issues with the WiFi he had PLDT at the property and working on the problem almost immediately. We had no issues with WiFi for the remainder of the stay.

There were not many guests at the hotel and the restaurant hours were limited at the time of my stay. I do miss getting an early morning coffee while enjoying the sunrise or a late night snack, but I think the hotel is well positioned to start welcoming tourists and I am confident they will see the the upkeep and care under the new ownership along with some of their favorite employees from past stays.

The worst part of my stay was that I had to leave!

The staff at the Arizona made the experience very welcoming. This is a classic Filipino beach resort, 2 floors directly in the beach at Subic Bay, just a beautiful relaxing setting. I would recommend this resort warmly for families and there’s a Dive Shop I saw active daily.

Attitude. the owner, Wayne Bier can't take a f***g review/feedback. Staffs provided us with a comment/feedback form so obviously we filled that in with thruthful remarks. Ordered Southern Fried Chicken, as per the waitress' suggestion, it was burnt. On the otherhand, the food and staff at Arizona's are great. Card system not working. Had 2 cockroaches in the family room, everybody were not able to sleep the rest of the night, we don't want cockroaches crawling all over us whilst we sleeping. We sent the message across to the owner, Wayne Bier about our concern, he didnt like it, said that nothing can be done about the cockroaches. Instead of handling/dealing the situation professionally, he's been arrogant, rude and chased us away! We had no choice but to check out early with 3 young children. disgusting and he is a disgrace. He should be ashamed of himself. Utterly ridiculous! Dissatisfied customer here. I won't recommend to friends and family.

I stayed there mainly for the diving activities they offered. The experience exceeded my expectations. The diving went well with good visibility and good variety of underwater creatures. The price for diving is very reasonable in comparion with what I had at home or other places in Asia.

The room itself was pretty basic but spacious. They could improve by providing electric kettle in the room. I found it funny to provide instant coffee in the room without any thing to boil water with.

Food in the restaurant was great with reasonable price. Went to the float bar on the beach. Nice views and relaxing atmosphere!

Always nice to come back to Arizona Resort. Right on the beach, the friendliest staff ever, always a beautiful welcoming smile and the director of operations Jessica is just great, always available and will try to accommodate anything you need. The restaurant is open 24 hours and the food is always good plus you are steps away from other bars and restaurants. The owner used to be the President of the Rotary club, and I personally know he has helped others. The location, the staff, the food, you can't go wrong.

Very good experience. The owner treated us like family. The food was good. The room was clean. We went island hopping. Good location. Friendly staff. It is the best hotel in the Subic Area. 5-Star Experience. The best chicken parmisian ever. My wife and I are very happy. We recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Philippines. The only 24-hour hotel restaurant in the area. Thank you, Mr. Wayne!

Arizona International Resort has a terrible room service. We stayed there for 1 week and they didn't clean our room even just once!!! The people working in the bar are friendly like the lifeguards and some waitresses, thanks to"Rhea and Rea", they have same name and same attitude, cool that they are working there to have a least good things in their hotel... the other waitress there (i forgot her name) she is quite dark, small, and she have a strong face... She tried to trick me with my bills. I was gonna pay the food we ordered and then I saw one receipt that is "obviously" not mine!!! So I went to the bar and tell them "in a nice way" that I never ordered a "buttered crab" (honestly I am allergic to that!!! what a pick huh!!!) Anyway thanks for the free drinks!!!

Considering this beach has a bar and a good diving site, is this also a child- friendly resort?
Answer from gnome308
Sydney, Australia43 contributions36 helpful votes
Subic Bay has good wreck diving with 5 to 10 metre visibility. So yes the diving is good if you are into wrecks but it doesn't have the fish life or corals with good viz that appeals to many divers. Arizonia's is not really set up for children. I would recommend the hotels in Olongapo which are only 15 minutes away and are definitely family friendly. with the same access to all of the diving in Subic Bay.

Room 25 is on the first floor and I think it is wheelchair friendly. The bathroom is large and a wheelchair can be rolled up to the shower faucet. There are also handrails in the bathroom. I don’t use a wheelchair, so this is not from actual testing, it is just my impression of Room 25 compared to other rooms I haves stayed in at this resort.
