If your looking for budget acommodation in Angeles city with a nice rooftop swimming pool and a good rooftop resturant this is a decent option. Location is pretty good easy walking distance to all Angeles city has to offer and prime location for nightlife and bars and sm shopping mall and fields av. I was seeking a budget room with a swimming pool for two nights so chose the apollonia royale i stayed in the premier room £56 for 2 nights booked with Agoda no breakfast (cheapest room) which was average size, one negative was the cheap looking small double bed which was hard and spoilt the appearance of the room.
Tv channels were numerous foreign and western channels. Empty fridge, wifi was excellent. Security on hotel entrance. Hotel had a gym. Rooftop swimming pool was pleasent with sun loungers also rooftop resturant was nicely laid out with nice views. Staff were fine. Room had a safe but for ould just pick it up (see pic) so I wasn't happy to keep my cash in it.
Other negatives were.
Seen a cockroach in the room.

No towels were provided at the pool area despite a sign saying not to bring room towels to the pool.

Arrived at 12.30. 90 mins before check in time asked if I could go to room but was told check is 2pm said im checking out at 11pm on my departure day 13 hours early but still i was not allowed to my room despite the hotel less then half full, come on hotel management what's 90 mins?

Cannot really complain to much about this hotel has it had cheap rates, nice pool and resturant and a gym but just one or two improvements and some maintenance in the rooms by management could really make the apollonia royale hotel a far better option.

I love the location and the facilities, i love the gym more if they do have a music playing while someone's using it and turn it off when no one's inside. The room is okay except that there's leak when using the bidet . We dont almost stayed in the room for long we arrived 10pm and leave at 6am, we got back late at the hotel because we attended spartan race at porac thats why we extended our stay. We asked the FO if we can extend an hour for complimentary just to swim and have time to go to gym before we head back to manila since thats the only time for us to relax but she says she's going to pay for the lco charge, well its my first time to hear that because im working in a 5 star hotel but staff didnt get charged when our guest wants to have complimentary late check out. Maybe you need more "hospitality training" be considerate once in a while.Your hotel is not fully booked and i see few guest at the lounge and its sunday. ☺

I guess my third time to stay there, and, if you can avail a nice roomrate via Agoda I think price /quality its quite ok.
To be honest I think the staff is not really smiley friendly, what gives you a feeling like, "what? I'm not welcome here?" I arrived quite early, and although the room was already available, I had to wait until 12h35 to get my roomkey. I mean, for a returning guest, it doesn't feel very "welcoming".
I also noticed that they do not change the bedsheets when cleaning the room, so you really have to ask them.
Swimming pool at rooftop is great! Just the few sun beds are really uncomfortable. This hotel could do much better!

Not a good stay. Front desk staff confrontational and unresponsive to request for maintenance.

The shower/bathroom are in desperate need of a deep cleaning. Black mold throughout the bathroom.

Air conditioner was defective. I called front desk and asked for maintenance, they sent housekeeping. Housekeeping verified the unit was faulty and then maintenance was called. Six people total in and out of a room that was 30*C. After an hour they replaced the unit and in another hour the temperature had been reduced to 25*C. The window mounted units are too small for the size of the room. The Air Con ran for 18 hrs straight and was able to bring the temperature down to only 21*C.

Nice hotel but not really something special. I think this hotel has more potential. I was lucky to have a very interesting roomrate via Agoda, but still found it quite expensive for what it was.
I found that, if there would be better maintenance, a bit better cleaned at swimming pool area, it could have had a 4*.
To say that the lovely swimming pool at the rooftop was not always that clean. There is no skimmer,so the water surface is full of dead flies and small debris. That's really a pity. Telling this at the staff at the pool area restaurant they told me not to mention it to them but I had to go downstairs to tell reception. This was a strange reaction of the staff.
Reception staff was really nice as well as room maid. I will definitely go there again if I find a decent room rate.

I am posting this to warn possible future and present guests that there is a thief / thieves operating in this hotel.
£120 and 60 euros were taken from my money in the hotel room safe.
On arrival I counted my money into the safe and made a note of the amount in a notebook. As I took sterling to change into pesos I noted it. However, on leaving I made the mistake of putting the money and passport etc straight into my bag without counting it. It was only when I got to my next hotel (3 hours away) that I noticed the theft when I again counted my money into the room safe.
I went to the local police station but they told me they had no jurisdiction and to go back to Pampanga, unfortunately time constraints made this impractical.
I e-mailed the hotel and asked to be contacted by a manager.I received an acknowledgement but then silence. I e-mailed again but it is now 10 days later and I have not received a response. I find this shameful. But it also tells you all you need to know about the quality of this place.
In the room where the theft occurred I had no visitors, on the whole trip I never used euros and I kept accurate records.
I believe this will not be an isolated theft and that other guests will be stolen from.
I can also confirm that the problems noted in previous reviews with the TV, the air con, the mattress and the toilet are all still there.

Stayed for a week and had a great deal booking online. hotel is new with very spartan looking rooms. Large rooms with windows are not very common here, but this hotel feels nice and comfy.

bathtubs instead of showers are great addition. if you have back problem, this hotel is not for you, because they opted for a very soft mattresses.

located not very far from the knows spots of the city. i've seen better places in Angeles, but for short stay this hotel is ok.

if you need airport pickup, use different service, this hotel charge almost double the regular rates for taxi

Me and my wife is a frequent traveller and we always go for nice and affordable hotel. Unfortunately, we have encountered the worst hotel service. We arrived at the hotel 4 hours before check in time and we approached the front desk to confirm our booking since we booked them through Agoda. Yes, we have our names listed there and we are told that our assigned room is not yet available and was told to come back and check again later. So, as told we waited and decided to take our breakfast at the hotel's cafe. 2 hours later, we ask again the front desk if the room is now available and was told that it is still occupied, and we wait again because we understand that the check in time is 2pm. We decided to sleep in the car since we are tired from our travel from Manila and from the hotair balloon field.

About 12:30pm, we ask again and was told that our room is now available but will be charged with Php 500 as early checkin fee. So, we opted not to pay and just wait. We are told to be back around 1:45pm. When the time is right, we ask again the front desk and alas, they told me that one of our room is now ready. Our room(me and my wife) is now available but the room of our friends is still on the process of cleaning. So, we were told that we can go now to our room. To our surprise, upon opening our room, it was a mess. Its not cleaned yet and was told that they have lots of guests that is why they were not able to clean it.

That's the most embarrassing answer I got from a hotel! So, we waited for them to clean the room since they promised that all of their housekeeper will clean the room. In 15 minutes, they have managed to clean the room and we are in. Time to rest, so I take the bathroom to wash and to I was surprised again that the towels smells like wet socks. The bed also squeaks so badly.

Also, they charge 250 per excess person without giving an extra bed. Our friend is a group of 3 and the SUPERIOR room is only good for 2.

I just told my self and promise to make this review, to help other traveller know more about this problem.

As a summary:

Front desk is strict but not rude
Housekeepers are polite but the towel is old and smells like wet socks
The bed squeaks
Not reasonable for being a midrange hotel

Last February 22, 2015, I was able to book a premier room at Apollonia Royale Hotel. Upon arrival, I told the front desk staff that I have a reservation under my name which I booked through Expedia. They asked us to sit down first while they arrange my reservation. I was quite excited to check-in at this hotel as they really have very nice rooms based on the photos I saw on their website. We were just enjoying our time at the comfy sofa in their lovely lobby while waiting for them to arrange our room.

But 15 minutes had passed, so I went back to the front desk to follow-up. They told me to wait as they fix it. So I did.

Another 5 minutes had passed and one of the staff approached me and told me that they will not be able to accommodate us because they are fully booked. I asked, "My reservation via Expedia was confirmed and it was paid already. Why I was able to booked a room through expedia if you are fully booked?" The staff answered "there was an error because Expedia's website was not updated."

They told me that they will just transfer us to another hotel. So it took again several minutes. They have given me 3 unknown hotels, whose names I never heard. So, I declined.

I only agreed when they mentioned that they will transfer us to DeVera Hotel because I know this hotel and I've seen it on the internet. They also said that they will just pay the difference between what I paid in Expedia and the hotel rate at DeVera Hotel. They also offered us free dinner or breakfast at their restaurant to make up for what happened.

Together with one of their staff, Hershey (who is very nice and was really apologetic for what happened), we were transferred to DeVera Hotel using a tricycle. Hershey also told me that they will be the one to arrange the cancellation of my booking with Expedia so I could get a refund.

NOTE: Before we left the Apollonia Hotel, one guest who is inquiring about their rooms was assisted by one of the staff to show their rooms. I didn't mind it anymore because I just want to leave Apollonia Hotel right away because I am really disappointed. Later on, I realized, if they are really fully booked, how come they will be able to show a room to an inquiring guest?

At DeVera Hotel, I called Expedia to verify if my reservation was already cancelled. The person at Expedia's customer service didn't know that we were refused to be accommodated at Apollonia Hotel. So they called the hotel to ask for an explanation. Later on, I asked Expedia to cancel my reservation so I could request for a refund. I also requested for an investigation regarding what really happened to my reservation.

Here is the result of their investigation (this is what Expedia's staff told me via email): "As discussed, please be informed that the Inconvenience caused to you was due to hotel didn't confirmed your reservation although all the details were acknowledged to the hotel on 21-02-2015 apparently hotel never informed us nor you regards for the no room availability , because of that Expedia was not capable enough to inform you . In accord for same we have cancelled your reservation with full refund."

With this, I will NEVER BOOK AGAIN with Apollonia Royale Hotel via any online booking website. I am really disappointed!

I have stayed here before and the hotel location is great--off the main street, quiet, but close enough to walk to everything easily. Also, the inside of the hotel is modern and clean, along with clean, modern style, affordable rooms with satellite tv. All of those things are great if you are staying for a few days, but for longer stays, the attention to detail is lacking--at least in my opinion. Let me explain....

I recently completed a long-term stay at this hotel. I can honestly say that I felt less important the longer I stayed than newer guests. They tended to view me as a nuisance. After having stayed there for more than 2 weeks, the receptionists would still ask me "What's your room number?" as I would walk past the lobby and ask them to clean my room. It is a small thing, but it showed how little they cared for a long-term guest.

At least 3 or 4 times I asked the receptioniststo have the cleaning team clean my room and to let me know when they finished. I would sit in the lobby directly in front of the receptionists. At least 3 times, they forgot to tell me when my room was finished. Once, after about 2 weeks, I asked them to do the same. After about 30 minutes, I asked the receptionist if my room was ready. She said no. After 45 minutes, I decided to go to the room to see why it was taking so long. Inside my room was clean, so I went downstairs and asked the cleaning lady what time she finished. She told me she finished over 30 minutes ago. Neither the cleaning lady nor the receptionists told me my room had been finished over 30 minutes ago and I had been sitting directly in front of them the entire time. Again, I had been a guests at this hotel for more than 2 weeks already. Finally, on my next- to-last day, they completely forgot to clean my room, even after I asked them to. The only explanation I got was that "maybe they forgot because they were very busy".

Another time, the safe inside the room malfunctioned and would not open. I asked the hotel to open the safe as my most important things were inside. They told me it would take 5 or 6 hours for someone to come and open it. There was no sense of urgency and they seemed to care less about me being in a foreign country and not being able to get to my most important things, i.e. money, cards, passport, etc. I had to insist someone come soon for them to understand my discomfort. Also, I was never told why the safe malfunctioned after showing and proving to them that I had been using the exact same code since I arrived at the hotel.

Lastly, the food was disappointing. I ordered room service and ate inside the hotel restaurant a few times. The food was repeatedly served cold and not "hot off the grill". Eventually, I decided to stop eating in the hotel restaurant. I got the sense that laziness was a factor. The food is not overly expensive, but for those prices, they should at least serve the food hot off the grill. It is obvious when food is not fresh, reheated, or has been sitting around. I was told once that "maybe it is cold because of the air conditioning" in the restaurant. There was also confusion by workers as to what was available and what wasn't available on the menu from week to week. Again, I felt is if they thought I was annoying them.

Again, all of this happened well after I had been there for 2 or 3 weeks. And there didn't seem to be any attempts to improve the service--especially for a guest such as myself who has stayed there in the past and is providing more income for the hotel by staying a long period of time. This was very disappointing.

Hi! regarding our wifi, getting a superior room or a executive king room would be better as they have their own routers in their room, kindly inform the reception upon check-in with your request. Thanks!
