Believe me it was bliss for me that travel became very limited during this pandemic. People are, like, away. Away. So I was fished out of my comfort zone by my husband who wanted to leave our current city -- a city that worships face shields, as if face masks weren't enough to choke us in this heat. We initially booked our flights to Bohol, hotels included. But thanks to the national government's ever-expanding classification of quarantines, we had to cancel that trip. We wanted to still celebrate a week-long birthday out of town so we planned on driving to cities with little or no quarantine restrictions. First stop: Angeles City in Pampanga. Pampanga is a province not in included in the NCR bubble in May 2021. So we didn't need to get tested or quarantined when we got there. We didn't realize looking for a pet-friendly hotel would be so difficult. We found a couple, but landed in Capitol Hill Hotel and Suites. The hotel isn't really inside Clarkfield. One enters the zone from NLEX and exits one of the side gates. You'll pass through what seems to be the former red light district of the old US Military (?) zone, and you'll find Capitol Hill build just outside the residential areas alongside some of the old and new hotels. This one looks new. Squeaky clean. They have ample parking spaces in front and beside the hotel building. With a crate, a couple of bags, and 4 small dogs, were pleased to be led to a room in the second floor. We still had to take several elevator trips to and from the car. I lost count on how many times the doorman held the door for us. The two ladies at the Reception were all smiles all the time. We were handed only one key card. But in all hotels that I've stayed in, I've always made it a rule to get two key cards, in case I leave the other one in the room. The room's about 50 square meters, with a king size bed, TV, and toiletries, a huge window that overlooks where we parked the car, and a see-through bathroom with a tub. Water pressure in the sink and shower were strong. And again, squeaky clean. The toilet flushes well. The entire building has wi-fi. We were provided with enough towels. The closet had two robes, two pairs of slippers, and a safety deposit box. Venture to the rooftop and you'll find the infinity pool, bar, and restaurant. The food is pricey if you're on a budget, but they serve them fast and with utmost concern about your taste. You don't have to take the towels from your room if you want to use the pool; they provide towels for that. I recommend you have dinner at the rooftop by yourself or with a date. The evening view of Clarkfield and the Clark Airport is spectacular. One floor below the rooftop is a small gym with a treadmill, peloton, and a few weights. The next morning, I had to stay in the room to prepare our stuff for our next lap in our tour. The phone rang asking us if we wanted our breakfast in the room or the restaurant at the rooftop. It was 9:30AM already; we said we'd be having breakfast at 8AM. I said we'd be at the rooftop in a few minutes, but then it didn't take us a few minutes because my husband was still at the tiny gym. The phone rang every 5 minutes for 6 times I think. I decided to go on up ahead. The morning view was breathtaking. From one side of the pool, we had a view of Mount Arayat jutting out like a lonely island in a sea of houses. Turn a little and Clark boasts of its business district. And on the other end of the pool -- the Pinatubo Mountain Range. This view made me realize how close Angeles City was to Mount Pinatubo when it erupted in the 90s. Downside: The TV only has local channels. The pool is only available from 9AM to 6PM, so is the tiny gym. The bar serves only up to 10PM, which means you can't call for room service in the middle of the night, but the area has countless retail stores, some probably open 24/7. Exit the main gate of Clarkfield and you'll find more restaurants. Overall, I recommend this hotel for leisure, business, with or without pets, with or without a companion. 8.5 of 10 stars for me.

Room Tip: It doesn't matter which floor they house you. Get out of the room and hang out on the rooftop...

One of the best in Angeles. This is a new hotel with parking space. I love that the rooms and facilities are clean. Health protocols were strictly implemented. They serve buffet breakfast. Staffs are hospitable. Plus points for ATM machine located at the lobby. Will surely go back to this hidden gem.

We stayed 3D2N from Dec 30 2020 to Jan 1 2021. Location is outside the Clark Freeport Zone, it seems to be in a residential area. Hotel was new and clean, beds are super comfy. Staff were very friendly and attentive (despite being on skeletal force), esp. the lady manning the bar at the roof deck. Breakfast buffet had limited choices, but has the essentials. Loved their cheese pizza and truffle mushroom pasta. We spent New Year's Eve at the roof deck in our pajamas, where we had a good view of the community fireworks (without the inconvenience of smoke). Overall, we had a great time during our stay. Will definitely choose to stay at Capitol again when we come back to visit Pampanga.

After 4 months of lockdown/staying at home, found Capitol Hill Hotel to be one of a very few hotels with rooms, pool & eating establishment operational for Metro Manila leisure guests. PROS: 1. Newish hotel with clean, modern design. 2. Room is well planned. King bed is the real size with cushy beddings with four comfortable pillows. 3. Smart TV had netflix! 4. Adequately sizes roofdeck pool had warm water despite the gloomy weather! Very relaxing. Pool side restaurant servers were warm & accommodating. 5. Reception staff were also warm & ready to serve with all my questions about possible travel restrictions, hygiene concerns, restaurant recommendations etc. Kudos to Yen, Andy, Cheska & Claudia. Thanks for the room set-up to mark our special occasion. 6. Secured and adequate parking slots. COULD BE IMPROVED: 1. No slippers, bathrobes & small towels in room. 2. "Do not disturb" switch beside the bed did not function.Had to relay this to the front desk. 3. A possible security issue is that all elevator riders can stop at any floor. In conclusion, will lobby for Capitol Hill Hotel!

Thank you so much for your kind review. All of your concerns are noted. I do apologize if there were no slippers, bathrobes and hand towels present when you checked in. This should not have happened in the first place. Necessary measures have already been in place to make sure this would not happen again. We hope you could give us another chance. Thank you

I would recommend this hotel because it looks new and grand in the inside and outside. The hotel front desk is friendly and helpful. The rooms are well equipped, clean and spacious. I love the bed very comfortable :) The only bad thing is the location, it’s a distance away from sm mall or the heart of Angeles city. Getting a trike and taxi is hard because u have to walk 5-10 min to the Main Street.
