Detailed Reviews
Stayed for a couple of nights when passing through Angeles. If Walking St is your thing then the location is perfect.
We arrived before 9am and went to check-in expecting that we couldn't. Pleasantly surprised that they let us. We had booked through Agoda, but nothing on their system. The girls at the front desk said they would sort it out later. Off to a great start.
From memory we had room 809, which had use of the elevator, makes life easy as some of the rooms don't have elevator access.
The room itself was clean, of a reasonable size, comfy bed and pillows, fresh sheets, the shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure.
We didn't use any of the facilities or dine in the restaurant.
All in all this was a good stay and good value for money. We are regular visitors to Angeles and will use Valentinos for our future stopovers.

valentino' hotel is a brad new building (nov 2008) situated close to field avenue, just 30 meters far from the swiss chalet. its situation, in the end of the street, allow it to be quiet. no swimming pool, no lift but all rooms are big and very well furnished (european and bali style).big beds, safes, big tv, internet wifi in the lobby and internet by cable in some rooms. price from 1800 to 2200 pesos (with or without balcony). may be the best quality price clode to field avenue .. and certainly for whom who is looking for a good and quiet sleep. some works (building construction) not far from the hotel but the noise cant reach the rooms of the hotel(dec 2008). a very few staff but friendly. a coffee/snack in the lobby but i prefer to lunch in swiss chalet, with its very good meal.

Nice size rooms, tastefully decorated, and a fair price for the location. On the - side, several days in the bed left me with sore lower back, hips, and legs. Service was good and there was not excessive noise here. if you don't mind hard matresss, you will like it here. If you do, look elsewhere.

The rooms are ok albeit small. The staff is friendly.
Yesterday morning, there was no water. No water for shower, no water for washing your hands. No water for the toilet to flush. I talked with the staff and they said it would be fixed quickly. The water outage continued into the evening. The staff continued to give different explanations on what was being done to fix the problem ... and the explanation was always changing. The manager was never available to talk to.
This morning there is a small flow (think of fast drips) of water. But it is only cold. The staff says it will be fixed and hot in a few minutes. 4 hours later, I still only have hot water.
The hotel is building an expansion immediately behind the hotel and on the side. My room has a window, but it is completely blocked by the cement wall of the new building a few inches away. The construction noise is quite loud with drills, hammering, and tile cutting. It begins at 8 am everyday and often continues until 10 pm. The staff does not offer any help with this noisy problem. The manager is not to be found and has not called me as promised.

I did not find staff welcoming or friendly. Room safe and TV both had problems but the maintenance guy was prompt and fixed it. Bed is small for two and comes with a thin blanket only and two skinny pillows. Toiletries-hardly any, no hair dryer, no bath mat for the slippery floor, two towels only. Only a very small safe just enough for my fanny pack, small refrigerator. Its a budget hotel but compared with other properties it lacks many things. No elevator, no restaurant etc. For similar price you can find hotels with pool, restaurant. Location is good.

The Karaoke singing going on out front of the Hotel was way Too Loud for way Too Long making it IMPOSSIBLE to sleep. The singing (mostly terrible) could be heard a long way down the street. For sure other Hotel guests would have been disturbed.

Location is nice and Rooms are OK. I thought I found this hotel would be OK. However, the owner and some staffs at receptiondesk were terrible. During my stay about 7-8 days, they forced me to move rooms 2-3 times. Worse, everytime the reception staff asked me moving to another room 2-3 times, they did not tell me anything. the hotel seemed to be booked full. I was very tired and bored to moving rooms. Worse, when i asked them why i had to move so many times, the owner said to me just "you have no choice. hotel is fully booked. if you dont wanna move, get out!" WE WILL NEVER STAY THIS HOTEL. VERY GOOD SEVICE! however, other staffs, house keepers, bar staffs, were friendly.

I stayed here based from TA reviews I have seen. This would be the 1st time TA failed to deliver my expectations. This place is not a hotel, more like a Hostel. The location is terrible, streets need to be fixed. Few building constructions nearby, aside from being dusty, the noise will drive you crazy.
All rooms are smoking rooms, it smells like an ashtray. The floors are dusty with lots of hair strands, they surely have poor housekeeping service. Worst part of it, the airconditioning is defective. They transfered me to another room but still the a/c was poor.
Do not be decieved by the pictures and reviews about this hotel. Pay more and try Lewis Grand, Tunes or Widus hotel if you do not want to dissapoint your Angeles city experience.

Response from msmacky, Owner at Valentino's Hotel
Responded May 26, 2013
I'd like to say many of our customers are seasoned travelers and often comment how satisfied they are to stay in VALENTINO'S HOTEL. To state that our location is poor when it it situated close to night life and compare it with hotels kilometers away on a noisy main road is ridiculous, as is the claim that the icon is defective when you clearly didn't allow time for the room to cool after checking in as walked in guest. If possible we try to cool rooms before guests arrive. Yes, we have some inconvenience with the building in our area, but this should improve soon when Rosario Street is resurfaced for the opening of the Penthouse Hotel. We've seen this style of comment before, just a cheap shot to discredit a competitor hotel. The Management

Valentino's website does not do it justice. This is an excellent hotel by western standards and would sit comfortably (and successfully) among the boutique hotels in inner Sydney.
Owned and managed by a former Kiwi, Peter, the hotel sits just behind the Fields entertainment zone, but away from all the hustle. It is clean, comfortable and modern.
The front staff were the most engaging and helpful that I experienced in my travels in the Philippines. This contributed to Valentino's 'home away from home' atmosphere. All had excellent English.
The rooms are of good size, with the amenities you would expect in a good western hotel. Great beds, quality clean linen, wonderful shower, flat screen TV and cable, and free internet wireless.
The hotel has a small restaurant/bar in the lobby area, serving inexpensive but high standard food and beverages. They make the best mango shakes!
Before coming to Valentino's I also spent a number of days at the Lewis Grand, another modern hotel, that commands the skyline just outside the Fields precinct.
The Lewis Grand has a lot to like about it, especially the pool, but it has small service and facility issues that constantly irked and lacks the personal service and ease of comfort experienced at Valentino's, at less financial cost. Valentino's is value for money with a capital V.
Angeles City is edgy and in many ways a city of contrasts. Despite the pollution, the chaotic traffic and the eclectic girlie bar/club scene (which comes with the territory), it is a truly fascinating place and sociologist's dream.
I would have no hesitation recommending Valentino's to the most discerning traveller. It is safe, quiet and welcoming. There are a lot of seedy joints in this town, but this is not one of them. If you were rowdy or objectionable, you'd get a quick exit from this establishment.
'Boss' Peter ( as he's affectionately called by his staff), takes great personal pride in the hotel and the services and facilities it provides, right down to the selection coffee and NZ butter that enhances the hotel's breakfasts. His ambition is to created a hotel that 'he would like to stay in'.
Valentino's has two modern SUV's, which I found provided excellent transportation value There a four levels to the hotel and no lifts. So anyone with serious mobility issues would need to find accommodation elsewhere. The balcony rooms facing Fields and the Clark zone are the 'go' , enabling one to enjoy the atmosphere of the neighbourhood and those balmy evenings with mango shakes or cocktails in hand.

On my last visit to Angeles City, I decided to stay and try the Valentionos Hotel. Overall the hotel was not bad, but not good as well. It was just average. I was mainly disappointed because of the lack of amenities at the hotel. No pool, poor room service, no gym, no elevator ... etc. The rooms also were very basic. I really appriciate a nice bed, but it was hard for me to sleep since there was only a sheet and no a comforter on the bed. The room itself was ok. The size was nice and the bathroom was ok. I just felt that the hotel could have added some extra things to make the stay more comfortable. I was on the top floor and did not like walking up and down the stairs everyday. An elevator would have definitely helped my stay. The furniture was very low budget and made me feel like I was in a low class establishment. I did like the price at about $40 usd so i guess I should not be complaining. You get what you pay for. If your on a low budget then this place is definitely good value, but if you need that extra comfort and class, then look elsewhere.
