Choice Hotels Ascend Collection are supposed to be "historic, boutique and resort." The Waves Hotel is none of these. It's a run-down, dirty, plain hotel. Our room was okay, absolutely nothing special. The walls were uninsulated, so we heard people talking, television, alarms and people moving around in the rooms on either side of our room. The room itself seemed clean, but the hallway and stairwell looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in days. The lobby offered nothing interesting. I didn't spend any time there, but in passing through, I don't think there was even any furniture in the lobby.

Hotel very clean but their "breakfast" menu is only a apple and water bottle. I understand the pandemic but it's been over a year. That for me is being cheap and for that reason I gave it 3 stars. The pool very small. Parking limited. The room we stayed in was very clean, no complains there.

Very clean and modern. Located only about 3 blocks from the boardwalk. The gentleman at the front desk were very professional, welcoming, accommodating, & helpful. The only con is the walls are extremely thin. You can hear those rooming beside you and above you as well as all the street noise. If I’m only staying a max of 2-3 nights i would definitely stay here again but don’t expect uninterrupted sleep.

Someone said lipstick on a pig before!!!! Exactly what I thought. And I’ll add on “putting polish on a turd” . This hotel which is apart of the Asend Collection which is owned by Choice Hotels, which has thousands of hotels around the planet!!!! Would have expected more than what I got for my money. I was not expecting luxury, but I was expecting with the name behind the hotel to have a better experience. The staff have no want to help at the front desk, the rest of the staff hang out all day in the lobby like they are on vacation themselves. The room had mold in the sink and shower head. The towels were horrible and cheap, the sheets were horrible and cheap, the bed spread was horrible and cheap. Our top sheet had a blood stain on it which we found after we had already slept on it. There was plaster on the walls that had not been pained over. Whatever wall art they put up looked like it was crinkled and damaged from humidity. Everything was horrible and cheap!! For over 200 dollars a night I expected better than what I got. I expected to have a room like I saw in the photos online, which is the only thing I believe they spent any money on. I feel robbed, I feel like a joke, I feel used.

Nice decor and updates to bathrooms. AC worked well. Beyond that, it's a noisy Wildwood hotel. Pool is tiny, parking is crowded. Brown bag offered for breakfast. While room was "clean" - There was hair on the floor and on some of the linens. Pillows were like bricks. Not worth the $250/nt we paid. Won't go back.
