The rooms are comfortable studios, and the hotels is surrounded by lots of places to eat, mostly chain restaurants and a theater. The included breakfast is decent, with a number of options included 3 hot options keep warm in chafing dishes. They also have a small serviceable gym, and a very small pool. We booked the hotel because it was significantly less expensive than anything we could find anywhere in midtown, plus had free parking, but it is not convenient to go into New York from there because there is always a huge backup around the Lincoln Tunnel.

This property was amazing!! It is located near a lot of major restaurants, hotels, including a movie theatre. The hotel itself even had a pool and a laundry room which was helpful since we stayed beyond a week. Also the rooms were very spacious and included a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave and kettle. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The best thing was that the hotel had two bus stops within a 5 minute walk that allowed us to get into Times Square within 20 minutes.

Residence Inn Secaucus is a great hotel, conveniently within walking distance to my office, making it my go-to spot when traveling for work. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is a nice perk, and the rooms are always spacious, comfortable, and clean. The location is perfect, with plenty of restaurants nearby, a movie theater, and just a short 10-minute drive to the American Dream Mall. Ideal for both business and leisure!

The room was clean and spacious (one bedroom suite). We loved the location and it worked very well for visiting NYC with kids since there are lot of places to get food, ice cream free street level parking and more. Checkin/out was easy and fast. We actually loved it so much that we booked an additional night within the first hour of being there. Why the low rating? After an excellent first few hours we began to settle down and the room began to fill with weed smoke from our air vent. We wasn't sure what was going on, but it was strong enough to consider checking out immediately. We decided to turn off the climate controls and cover the vents with paper and tape to stop it. We walked into the hallway and it was evident (not 100% positive since we couldn't go in there) that our neighbor was smoking in the room because you could smell it coming from the doorway. We went to talk to customer service in the lobby and they told us that unfortunately there isn't anything they can do when guests smoke in the rooms. They could not offer a new room because they were reportedly sold out. We figured maybe this would end tonight and tomorrow would be better. Nope, continued all night and into the next evening. Our hotel stay was ruined by this and the only way to make it through our stay was to not have any climate control. What do i think they should do when this happens? At least knock on the door of the suspected guest to inform them smoke is coming from the room and smoke in any capacity is not allowed. The second thing to consider when choosing this hotel is that you are sharing the air with your neighbors room via your ventilation system. I can admit that this will likely not happen to you, but it did to me and my family which really made us regret carefully picking this hotel.

Didn’t expect much from this Marriott property location ( which I have been several other times). Other than the convenience of the location, the already low quality and choices of breakfast food went down even more. They removed bacon, yogurt choices, no more china but some cheap paper plates, pastries are at minimum and overall very very sad looking as covid times have never ended.
One young associate assigned at breakfast duties Zaida, went out of her way to accommodate a couple of important food requests that were out of what this location has imposed to eliminate.

Really BAD. For $300/night, I got a room that smelled in cigarette smoke, maid service after 7 pm at night (and only after I complained), and if she was in the room for 30 seconds it was a lot. My complaints were ignored until I left a nasty review on the Marriott web site. Stay at Days' Inn. It's cheaper and better.

Stayed here over Christmas and was charged 3 times for our stay. Front desk said they couldn't help? Had to forego some plans for our kids Christmas because of the extra $1200 missing from my bank account, courtesy of the hotel. Room was unclean, uncomfortable, shower situation was crazy and the heating unit was so loud it prevented sleep.
Pros: Great location, convenient to NYC, great breakfast. But these things added together weren't enough to outweigh the bad. Heard many other customers complaining of various things (several concerns were cleanliness) and front desk response was always the same....we really can't help you. Asked to speak to the manager, was told he'd be right out, but after ten minutes it was clear he had no intention of doing anything but hide in his office. I've had bad stays before, but they were bearable. This was my family's Christmas gift and it was ruined. Absolutely disgusted.

Ugh. Don't stay here. Plant is old and in poor repair. Room smelled heavily in cigarette smoke and when I complained I was told that it was a non smoking hotel so shouldn't. Duh. No luggage carts to bring up my luggage. A/C was noisy, refrigerator motor had a knocking noise as if on low octane gasoline, maid didn't show up until 7 pm and then only after I complained and she devoted about 2 minutes to the room. If this was a $100 per night Days' Inn, I'd suck it up, but don't expect me to pay $300 a night for such a crappy hotel.

Hotel was average but my main issue was with staff. They took my ID at checkin and didn’t give it back. When I realized this and came back no one could find it and acted like I was crazy. The next morning I tried again with a different person and she immediately found it so it was always there the first person was just too lazy to look. Also breakfast was not that great and other guests didn’t know how a hotel breakfast works. People kept taking food that was being made that didn’t belong to them.

Our family of four (a teenager and a small child) enjoyed our stay here last February when visited to watch a Broadway show. The room was spacious, as is the norm with Residence Inns, parking was plentiful (as it was located within a shopping center), with a relatively short drive to Manhattan via the Lincoln tunnel (which put us right in the middle of the theater district). While breakfast is free, there are a number of affordable lunch- and dinnertime options if you're looking to eat before or after walking Manhattan's streets. The service was pretty good, and the bed was comfortable. The sofa bed mattress could've been a bit firmer, but our kids had no issues with it. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit to New York city.

JFK and Newark Int. Are purity much the same distance from this spot once traffic is taken into the picture. I say just do the better price. As for the bus, i can’t say I just Uber or Lyft from Jounral Square (Jersey City NJ) to here.
