This place I LOVED! This reminded me of the kind of place perfectly situated at the ocean. Everything about it I just loved. This place has character and isn't a "cookie cutout" hotel. Though it is small, it's homey. The whole place just has a relaxed, laidback vibe. Our room was clean, simply decorated and relaxing. The fireplace in our room was a serious plus, as we came back from having dinner out one night and got caught in the rain. A comfortable bed that definitely made sleeping a dream. Though I wish we had a better view outside our window (the parking deck wasn't exactly fun) but then again, we didn't spend too much time in our room anyways. But be prepared to pay for parking which covers the entire stay. It is $35 per day. Not bad but still. It CAN get pricey the longer your stay is. You also don't really have that great of a view of the ocean as the hotel IS a block away from the boardwalk. But the upside is that it is still close to Pier Village and a short walk to it. Would definitely consider a return trip to stay here. Hopefully bringing our kids next time so they can experience this place as we did. It's not fancy. It's not posh. But if you like a relaxing, kick back and chill type of place? THIS is it!

Close to beach and budget friendly. Decent breakfast and very nice rooms. Loved that I was also able to partake in amenities at nearby Wave Resort. Wonderful area. I've visited 3 years in a row. Nice spot!

Overall it is a good boutique hotel. Clean, close to pier village and board walk, yet away from the hustle bustle. The housekeeping staff is exceptional, keeping the place and rooms very tidy. The front office staff could do better, slightly more helpful and smiling would help. Although everything at the Wave is complimentary, I found the Wave staff patronizing when you came from the Bungalow. That needs to change, on the day we booked I paid more for the Bungalow than the Wave. Anyway the one star less is for the breakfast. Rather remove breakfast ( bagels and coffee at best ) from the offering and charge a little lesser for the room, might have more people interested and wanting to return.

This boutique hotel is ideal if you want to be near Pier Village, and pay less than the hotels right on the beach. It's just a few blocks to the beach, shops and restaurants the walk is nice. The rooms are huge w/ fireplaces, couch, mini kitchen (fridge, sink, coffee maker, microwave) kitchenette table, the bathroom is lovely. Super clean. Convenient parking garage right next to it. The lobby is kitchy. Everything is super clean. We had the best stay and would definitely go again. No amenities other than the lobby and continental breakfast, but they allow you to use the amenities at The Wave, their sister hotel, which has a pool, beach access, restaurants, etc. They also allow pets! We had a great time and would definitely go back.

The hotel was wonderful, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We loved how spacious the rooms were and beautifully decorated. Also, the hotel is located a short walking distance from the beach, stores and restaurants. Staying at the Bungalow gave us access to the Wave Hotel which was an added bonus. The outdoor pool overlooking the ocean at the Wave hotel was great. Will definitely be coming back next year.

Great location. Huge room, wished I could open a window to feel that fresh ocean air. Weirdly they have "not got the budget to include decaf coffee". For $900 per night you would think they could afford decaf Keurig cups in the coffee maker in the room. I had to walk 2 blocks to Starbucks for a cup of decaf! The closet hanging rods are so high up I couldn't reach them. (I'm 5'2" ). There were no racks for the luggage. I found a spot in the living room to put my suitcase but I kept banging my head on the TV suspended on the wall so I finally put it on the sofa. The breakfast room was hardly that. It was 2 Victorian sofas and a bunch of stools. They told us there was yogurt but I had to ask for it to be put out. There were bagels and sweet rolls. The staff were very helpful. We really enjoyed being able to use the beach and pool facilities at the Wave hotel down the street about 3 blocks.

Where do I start? First of all the design of the rooms are so strange. Why is there a bathroom open to the bedroom with a chandelier overhead with no lighting? Why are the rods for hanging in the closets so high? No one under 5'8" could possibly hang anything. Where are the luggage racks for placing the luggage so it's not on the floor? Was this hotel perhaps the final project for an architectural or interior design student? The staff needs to be trained in HOSPTIALITY as that is the business. Telling a client that is playing $900+ a night that there's no decaf k cups because it's not in the budget??? Go down to CVS, buy a box for $10 and I bet they will last you for a month. How about making sure there are napkins out at breakfast in the morning and not giving out paper towels as a substitute. Giving out only two key cards per suite when it's a 2 bedroom? The one car allowed for parking should be part of the resort fee and not separate. The two things going for this hotel is the location and the ability to use the amenities at The Wave - the sister hotel down the boardwalk. That was amazing. If you are going to charge top dollar - train the staff and rethink some of the policies.

I recently spent two nights in the Kahuna Suite at The Bungalow Hotel. Traditionally we stay at Ocean Place Resort and The Bungalow is a breath of fresh air in comparison. The high ceilings, pale wood floors and neutral, muted color scheme made for a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of Ocean Place and the Pier Village. Pros: - Fantastic location a block from the Pier Village. Everything you need in Long Branch is a minute away by foot. - The Kahuna Suite is massive and very comfortable for 5-6 people, palatial for 4. - Unlike Ocean Place, the quiet boutique feel is very desirable. - Huge shower in the master bedroom of the Kahuna Suite feels very luxe. - Unlike Ocean Place, never an issue getting onto the elevator. - Small grab-and-go complimentary breakfast in the lobby was a plus. Improvements needed: - Unfortunately, we found the front staff to be apathetic at best, impolite at worst. They flat out refused to even consider an early check-in and didn't offer the usual smiles and greetings you'd expect from the front desk staff. - Admittedly, while the rooms were spacious and clean they could use a general touching-up. Chipped baseboards, crooked bathroom vanity doors, scuffs on the floor and walls all show a general wear and tear that should be spruced up. - While access to The Wave's pool and beach was a nice benefit our key cards didn't work there so we were "locked" into the elevator and hallways while trying to go to the pool. - There was a "computer" issue at the pool bar and restaurant so the only options for food were to order DoorDash or leave the pool to eat. Highly acceptable for a peak season pool day. - The temperature in the master bedroom remained freezing despite our attempts to change the thermostat. - Parking was very expensive.

On the night of April 19th 2023. Myself and my boyfriend were a guest at the Bungalow Hotel of Long Branch, NJ. (Kahuna Suite) First complaint I have is, I asked to purchase a glass of wine at the bar and was told the bar was out of service. Once I had gotten settled into the room after a couple of hours I went to my car to see there was a young petite African American young lady at the front desk(night shift). She looks like a little girl. I've seen her 2 other times when I was a guess there. She's very polite and accommodating. However, in the middle of the night the room was extremely cold. Me and my boyfriend tried and tried to adjust the temperature but the system would made a clicking noise then continue to blowing cold air. After a few attempts to fix the problem ourselves to no eval, I called down to the front desk several times, 10 to be exact. These calls took place in the middle of the night. When there was no answer. I went down to the front desk there was NO ONE there. I looked and yelled for someone. No one answered. Therefore, upon checkout at 730am. I spoke with the young man named Terek. I informed him of the issue I had through the night and also showed him the 10 missed calls on my phone made to the frontdesk because the phones in the roomswent straight to voicemail. He stated, "There has been same issues with that room in the past." He never address or cared that there wasn't anyone there at night to address my concerns. That's a problem! Also, he stated there was nothing he could do for me, but would contact his supervisor to see if she could assist me. I have not received a call or email from anyone. Per my conversation with the capital one representative, Bungalow Hotel stated that the services of goods were rendered and up to standard. If that is the case then why would the rep from the hotel then state that they offered me discounts and I declined? Number one, I didn't speak to anyone who offered me anything. Number two, if the services were " good and up to standard" then why would they state that they offered me discounts? Why would someone try to offer me discounts or credits for a service that the hotel considered was good? That in itself makes no sense. Where was the 3rd shift front desk clerk? Please have the Bungalow pull camera footage from the night in question April 19th into the 20th. You will see two things, Myself down there walking around the lobby looking and calling for someone. The second thing is you'll see there was NO FRONT DESK PERSON THROUGH THE NIGHT SHIFT except at the very beginning of the shift. You will also see me showing my call log to Terek regarding the 10 calls to the front desk and explaining the my night as a guest. I have stayed there in the past with no problems. However, this particular night was definitely not a good one. In closing, I expect the hotel to do the right thing and refund the money. The cameras will tell it all. I will not stop disputing this case until I am proven wrong or a refund is given.

Unfortunately our trip wasn’t as accommodating as expected. Our room didn’t have a working key card reader from the moment we got there. We were told the batter would be changed in an hour then we get a call saying the next morning. Long story short it never got fixed which forced us to use both a physical key for the door as well as having to take the stairs because we couldn’t get the elevator to work without a keycard. The phone also would not ring down to the front desk, the fireplace wouldn’t stay fully lit, and the Ac/heating units were wonky as well. Also the hotel bar was closed on both Friday and Saturday. It was a beautiful place but it was highly lacking in the amenities and functionality area.
