Excellent hotel. Top quality and clean. Staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Everything from check in to leaving was pleasurable. With 11 restaurants, a bowling alley and multiple entertainment options, it’s a city in a city. No need for the strip when you can stay where everything is within one building.

Our annual Mecum Motorcycle Auction visit to the South Point brought us back for another weeklong visit January 20-27, 2020. After five years, each visit is better than the last. Nothing much changed since our last long visit, the hotel staff is quietly efficient, everything is spotlessly clean, and the many restaurants are all in good form. We have a lot of business to take care of during the auction, so we rarely leave the hotel when it's time for a meal.
For us and our many friends, we find it hard to beat the Coronado Cafe, which has a very large menu, reasonable prices, and very good food with service to match. This is a large place with a high meal volume (especially for breakfast) but the line moves fast and the wait never too long.
We also made time to eat many dinners here (look at the Daily Specials) and there is a full Chinese menu available too. Everything is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and if you're dining alone there is a nice long counter with bar stools to sit on.
The rooms are very clean and well serviced every day by an attentive staff. A lot of the rooms on the North side of the building have nice views of the downtown skyline. During our visit we also ate excellent dinners at Asian Fusion, Don Vito's, and the Mexican place upstairs off the casino floor. Every meal was perfect. We all enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning every January to the South Point. Highly recommended!

South Point offers a respectable room product and wide variety of dining and entertainment options packed with a number of valuable perks that make this property a great option for budget-conscious travelers. The hotel offers free airport shuttles and discount drink and meal vouchers at check in as well as a resort fee that is 50% less than the major strip properties.

While it lacks the glitz and glamour of the resorts in the heart of the city, it offers all of the gambling options and many other entertainment options including a movie theatre and bowling alley for room rates that are priced well below the strip hotels.

So for a Vegas experience at savings that can approach 50% or more compared to the mega MGM / Caesars resorts, this is certainly a property that merits a look

With five hours to killand with restaurants having only opened in the last few days, I thought it might be a good idea to have a leisurely lunch in Las Vegas. The strip hotels I stayed in I just enormous and beyond that, it costs a fortune to park.

I had heard good fast from locals about the south point, so I headed off to that casino. I found a parking spot next to the handicap area on the second floor. It was just a few feet to the elevator which opened up very close to what I believe is the main steakhouse. It did not open until 5 p.m. so I walked on several feet to a large Cafe. With my foot in a cast, distance was an important factor in my choices.

I couldn't have made a better choice. From the moment I walked in and was greeted by the hostess, everyone I encountered was very pleasant and helpful. Service was excellent! my iced tea was replenished without my having to ask. My server as well as other staff members stop to make sure everything was okay. Not too often, just right.

there were specials that truly were specials. As an example, chicken fried steak was about $18 or as the special prime rib was $14. I ordered that cut medium rare and enjoyed a simple but fresh dinner salad while waiting for my entre.

I was pleasantly surprised when a 1 inch thick slab of meat carefully trimmed and cooked to just the right temperature was put before me. It had to weigh a pound. It was so tender that I suspect it had been dry aged. It was accompanied with baked potato and a saucer that held butter, sour cream and a horseradish sauce.

Not only was the restaurant stuff for light but so was the security officer I asked a question of as well as I believe a janitor type that directed me to a ticket cashing machine where I salvaged some of the money I had put into a slot machine!

This was a large casino and there were many other restaurants and I'm sure shops that, due to buy condition, I was unable to explore. But I'm anxious to return with my wife and was our daughters and their families when they come visit.

Just returned from a six night stay at South Point Hotel and Casino. Wonderful stay! The rooms were clean and spacious. Having a Keurig coffee maker and a frig in the room is an absolute plus! Due to Covid-19, there was no daily housekeeping, but the housekeeping staff were always quick to respond whenever we needed any clean towels, more coffee, etc. The casino is nice, well-lit and bright. They also have a bowling alley and movie theater. The food at all the restaurants we visited was tasty and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Las Vegas.

This is a nice property a few miles off the strip on Las Vegas Blvd. near the airport. We stayed here for the first time and will stay again. The hotel room had plenty of space with a nice-sized bathroom also. There was a mini fridge and coffeemaker provided. There was hardly a wait for an elevator (stayed on 19th floor) because the lower half has their own bank of elevators and the upper half theirs.
The buffet had just reopened and worked perfectly with covid restrictions. The employees behind all of the counters put the food on your plate so no customer ever touched anything besides their own plate. We also dined at their Silverado Steakhouse where the meal and service was excellent.
The casino is well taken care of but could use some updated video poker machines, which is what we like to play. Quite a few have been around for years. For covid, they had chairs removed from every other machine where they are situated close together. Also, masks were required inside the entire property.
They have free parking in their garage and have a huge surface lot. Also, they have a very nice pool area with plenty of room.
If you rent a car and don't want the hassle of the crowds when staying on the Strip, this is a great place.

Decided to do a staycation and went with South Point since there’s so much to do at this property. Rooms where clean and spacious. Machines were a little tight didn’t win but love the fact they have a variety from old to new machines.
Overall was a good experience until today in the morning!!

When checking in I requested a late check out. At 10am housekeeping came into our room. We were very surprised since this has never happened to us and any other property. She was very loud and was making so much noise outside our room came again 1 hour later to knock and trying to open the door again. Finally got up getting ready to leave housekeeping again Tried coming inside so I called front desk to confirm I had a late checkout and then spoke with Shelly the “director” who by the way was the rudest person. I asked if i had a late check out she said no but she can go ahead and add it I told her their no point now since it’s 12:45pm and about to leave. She then told me your a local and you should know housekeeping starts cleaning rooms early I told her I actually do work at a casino property on the strip and that’s not what we do. Check out at most hotels are at 11am and front desk always communicates with housekeeping to notify what rooms are checked out and what rooms need attention not go knocking at all the doors and see which ones are empty.
Because of this I will never return! My staycation started fun but because of Shelly she ruined my weekend. Never again!

Bed has obvious and uncomfortable divots on both sides from use. Have they ever replaced it since it opened? Nonsmoking room. Smoke and dust just everywher in the air. Not from the floor or a neighbor. Just everywhere. Elevator button didn't work. The paltry vending machines on the floor didn't work. Thin sheets and the flatest comforter I’ve ever slept with. Temperature control was fan only and it got really cold at night. With thin bedding. Food is terribly over priced though generally decently tasty.

I don't think I'd ever stay here again if there wasn't a work event I had to attend. Grout on the tub shower combo is jagged and rough. Obvious that someone torn the wall soap holder out and it was put back sloppy. (I took a bad photo but I don't care enough to take another.) Gouges in the picture frame. (Same again.) How much are they charging per night for this? I will say it seems the room cleaners/housekeeping DO seem to be doing the best they can with what they have.

The spa looks nice though I haven't used it. The pool is pretty, if closed. The gym does look the onto the pool and jacuzzi and it (the pool deck) is the only place I've seen any green. Too bad the jacuzzi closes at 5pm and they lock to doors so I've never been able to actually visit it.

I have no opinion on how it is as a casino. If you have to stay here fine, you'll live but I can't say I found it enjoyable. Netural or meh at best with spikes of frustration and unpleasantness.

I recently attended this venue of over 8000 attendees, and both the hotel and conference staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure my stay was excellent in all areas. My only complaint is that there were parts of the hotel with an abundance of cigarette smoke around, but this is to be expected at a Vegas casino resort.
My room was terrific, clean and with a great view.

Stayed here for a photo-booth convention and i was blown away by how convenient everything was. The food places where fairly priced, the customer service was very good, instead of getting liquor from a liquor store they have there own liquor store inside the hotel which had really good low prices . The room was nicely sized with a good view (13th floor). It was just really cool.

No microwave in the rooms which is wack! but other than that 5 star rating.
i would def come back to chill the strip was like $16 dollars away if u take uber but they have shuttles for that 2!
