For foreign tourists be aware that rates advertised often mask the hefty resort taxes. If you are watching your pennies, don't plan to come during convention days where your room rates could be triple !

Pros

1. Overall clean and check in was efficient.
2. Various in house restaurants inc. Toni Roma with a $11.95 special on lobster and steak after 9pm.
3. Bus stand is located opposite the hotel.

Cons

1 internet from my 12 floor room was non-existent and I was not allowed to lock in.
2. small bathroom
3. No usp point and limited power sockets.
4. Deafening noise and vibration from heavy metal rock bands from dusk to midnite from nearby Fremont Street.

We really did not have really high hopes for this property, but we love staying on Freemont Street. Nothing was out of the unexpected but maybe so for some. The price is great and you are in the middle of the Freemont experience and can walk pretty much anywhere. The casino was a casino and we still enjoyed our time at the hotel. It is quite a bit older and could definitely use some TLC, the rooms are small and the ac does not work that well.

Stayed in the Freemont for 4 days , its one of the older hotels, but it has been renovated. It's a great location to experience Freemont street ,people watch and see the older side of Vegas. Hotel has a smaller food court, A Tony Romas and various bars. Found the room smaller but it was fine, clean and in good condition. The Casino is the older ones so there is a slight odor of cigarette smoke around. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in the area as well as other Casinos. Yes, there are some homeless people in the area but they pretty much leave you alone. Yes, the location is loud in the evenings and overnight, we chose a room on a higher floor and to one of the sides of the building so the noise was minimal. Valet service is free to park your car. One thing that I have to give kudos to the hotel and staff, customer service was excellent, found all employees very friendly and helpful. For the price I found it a great stay, would recommend to anyone.

We have been going to Vegas since 1986, we have been over 50 times the last 15 years we have stayed downtown almost always at Main Street Station, twice at Golden Nugget and twice at the California. Although the Casino at the Fremont was well maintained the rooms were terrible. We checked in on a Thursday and asked the desk clerk about upgrades he said that had to be done on line, so we get a room on the second floor (we traveled from Massachusetts) the room stunk we opened the shutters to see the view we were looking at a roof and a bunch of machinery.there is enough storage for clothes but good luck finding room for anything else. They had an area that I assume was a closet at one time there were no doors on it but the raised threshold was still there we both tripped over it a few times once I almost cracked my head on the safe. I also needed a refrigerator for diabetic meds the one they brought looked like it had been thrown off a building not only did it get cold it froze my meds and a couple of bottles we bought, meds in the barrel thank you Fremont. This was also a 50 dollar can ride from the Airport going back to the Airport Uber was 20 dollars, Main Street use to pick us up. On a positive note the beds were comfortable we did go to Walgreens to buy air freshener for the room. My wife and I have been playing Video Poker for 30 years we are not experts but consider ourselves decent players I know they do not build these Casinos on WINNERS but these were the tightest poker machines we have ever played I don't know if is because business is so far down or we just had the worst gambling trip we ever had. Another thing the Downtown area has turned into a SEWER we always felt safe walking Downtown and enjoyed the entertainment. I am no pride but now you have A rated junk going on, a womanizing in a chair with huge bombs that you can touch for a price, a girl dressed as a Nun (topless). Twice I was confronted by young men who wanted to know what I was staring at this was daylight, I don't know what is causing the problems ghee it Vegas has got to get on top of it. I am 72 years old and I am not looking for anything except to have a nice hotel room have a few laughs and have decent odds gambling. I know That Main Street Station is closed and from what I saw on this trip I can't see it opening anytime soon. On top of all this we are going back in October we are not sure where we are staying but it will not be the Fremont.

We've always enjoyed B-Connected properties and especially Fremont Hotel/Casino, but this time (last time) we were totally disappointed. We reserved a non-smoking room, but was told only they only had smoking room available. Then the room, just like all the pictures posted, "look" nice, but not cleaned very thoroughly. There was a cup stain still the bed night stand...I had to wipe down the place. There were 2 plastic plants FULL of dust and the window was open. The restroom was disgusting. There was black stuff stuck or cigarette burned on the bottom of the top, there was mold on the outer edgest of the handle in the tub and the bathroom mirror had dirty fingerprints all over it. The housekeeping people were friendly but it seems as though if they had proper training on how to clean rooms maybe a better job would be done....this Boyd property needs to invest in a membership with Stanley Steemer or similar type of company to get this back on track.

Our room was worn and tired, wallpaper peeling in areas. It also needed a good cleaning. The room was a decent size but a bit dark.
The beds were firm as were the pillows and not very comfortable.

We could hear some noise from Fremont street.

When we were first in the room and waiting for luggage I noticed something spilled on the nightstand. I decided to wipe everything down with a sanitizing wipe, including the bathroom. It was obvious the bathroom floor had not been cleaned.
The bathroom was super small and a low shower head. It really needed new caulking, a new sink and tub. Both the sink and tub had cracks in them.

At night when ready for bed I pulled back my bedding and there was fresh blood on the thin comforter. Enough blood that housekeeping would have seen it. Called down and a very nice gal came up with fresh bedding. She left and my sister pulled back her bedding and on the bottom sheet was a neatly folded napkin.
Someone is not changing sheets at this hotel which is very gross and very disturbing when they have blood on them.

All I received for this disgusting room and bedding was an apology and an offer for a free room if I return.

The room makes me very sad, I had stayed here years ago after they remodeled the rooms and they were so nice.

I won’t stay here again unless they do a remodel, clean up the rooms and have better housekeeping management.

I was unaware that the majority of the rooms were smoking rooms, which is what we got. There was loud noise from the Fremont Street Experience. Reception was nice and accommodating. They sent someone to spray our room with “fresh scent”. A redeeming factor was that there was a great, cheap champagne brunch buffet available in the hotel (Paradise).

Don’t expect a 5+ hotel but if you want a hotel that is directly around the street from the bus, has good food (Tony Roma’s and Paradise Buffet) and great prices and you can actually only walk a short distance and visit several casinos you can hardly go wrong at The Fremont. Rooms on the top floors are not noisy and have good views. My husband enjoys $5 blackjack tables not easy to find in Vegas anymore. Keep in mind hotel is old but price is right

If you are traveling with kids, this is NOT the place to go. Little did I realize when booking that the "Fremont Experience" means not getting any sleep even with ear plugs on the 14th floor facing away from Fremont St. I will NEVER stay here again. There is also quite a problem with multiple homeless people frequenting the area, including sleeping right outside of the Downtown Container park. For those who don't know, smoking indoors is still allowed in the casinos, and even on a smoke free floor, you can still smell it.
Housekeeping no longer comes daily unless you ask every morning before 10am for them to clean your room, they are also supposedly phasing out the coffee makers according to one of the evening front desk staff who told me that was why my coffee was not replenished. This turned out to be a lie, at least for the time being, as she later called and said she found a couple coffees, and then two days later the housekeeper that she didn't ask to clean our room left more.
For the record, the cheapest place to find coffee is McDonald's at the D, as Dunkin Donuts is over $4 just for regular brewed coffee.
For fellow Canadians who are used to traveling to Vegas on the cheap, that is no longer the case. The prices of everything are astronomical, with prices being the same or more before factoring the current 40 cent exchange. Some places also insist on a credit card, which will add 3.5% more to your already inflated rates.
The one good thing at the Fremont Hotel is the valet, it's included in the resort fee and the staff are all fast and friendly.
For families, perhaps consider the Cancun resort by Hilton, it has a pool and is off by itself and quiet, rent a car. That said, the "time share" or vacation club or whatever they want to call it that they tell you is two hours, was 5 hours and they just didn't want to take no for an answer. The deal seemed good, but if a deal today is not good tomorrow, then frankly, I am not buying it. They seem to be confused by why a family might travel to Vegas and that the only reason we agreed to the presentation was for the $200 of free gambling vouchers.
Families should check out Sky Zone- get a pass for $30 and go every day for your 2 hours. It's a good workout and lots of fun. Circus Circus also has the midway rides that were $30 for under 48 inches and $60 for above. Our kids are both under 48 inches, so they rode for several hours for $30 each. They offer a fast pass for $50, but the lineups were so insignificant that it wouldn't have been worth it. There are also hourly circus acts at Circus Circus, and parking is free.
Other free parking is at Tropicana (soon to close) and Fashion Show mall.

The updated Fremont Hotel was quite nice. Our room was very nice with recent bedding and very comfortable beds. The location was great as we just walked out the doors into all the entertainment that Fremont St has to offer. The staff were very friendly and front desk were very professional.
My negative would have to be the room location as it was on the other side of the building up in the top corner....we were travelling with a special needs person and it was just too far.

The hotel doesn't offer transportation, but I always take Uber from the airport. Clearly signposted within the app where to find the pickup point and you'll be looking at 25-30USD to this hotel. Any alternative offered by a hotel will be significantly more expensive and other public transportation options from the airport aren't convenient. If you only have one night don't waste time trying public options and just go with Uber.
