The Graduate By Hilton Lincoln garners a mix of feedback from guests, with its central location often earning praise for convenience and safety. While the hotel's retro theme appeals to some, others find it outdated and occasionally insensitive.
Cleanliness and maintenance issues are recurrent concerns, particularly with regards to room upkeep. Though the variety of amenities is appreciated, reports of poor service, high costs, and additional charges contribute to a sense of inadequate value for the price paid.

Hotel's Favorite
We booked The Graduate Lincoln, NE for our fourth wedding anniversary and we just loved it. The location on the Hay Market can’t be beat. It was across the street from our favorite restaurant, Vicenzos. The decor is fabulous. We like mid-century-modern and the execution here is flawless—very clever, creative and of good quality. Anyone who doesn’t like MCM and thinks the decor is "dated" does not understand. It is meant to look like the glorious 1950s. The staff was well trained and they offered outstanding service. The bar is fully stocked and just top drawer. The complimentary breakfast was generous and delicious. The pet policy is awesome. This is going to be our hotel from now on any time we’re in Lincoln.

Just want to comment that the room was very clean though the air conditioning switched to heat at 70 degrees 👎🏾
We were sad to see the pool closed due to chemical overload, mostly as it was a reason to book the hotel with two littles on a cross country road trip.
And very disappointed to not receive a shower 🚿 as there was no hot water 💦.
Ironically, because we arrived after midnight, they allowed us an additional hour to our check out time. And Kevin, the manager, offered the stay complimentary when I informed him of the circumstances. Granted, I did ask for a 50% rate reduction however none of the circumstances became displeasing as Kevin was so calm & kind.
Honestly, the old hotel was the five. The night auditor, the newly engaged desk agent & Kevin were all so kind, the staff were a 10!

We've stayed here several times now since our oldest began attending UNL.
The staff is consistently friendly and efficient.
Rooms are always clean and we love the theme and we live when we get to enjoy a room with a stadium view.
We've stayed at other hotels in the vicinity that are nice also but this location and price can't be beat.
The location is the best...step out the front door and you are in the middle of the action yet your room is nice and quiet.
Enjoy farmer's market right outside, Hurts Donut across the street open 24/7, restaurants galore and about a 5 minute walk to campus.
The only slight challenge could be parking if you have a large car/truck... the hotel has a multi-level garage but the turns are tight... I've seen people struggle getting through the garage.

It blows me away how people keep giving this place a good review. I am NOT hard to please. I have been living in hotels for several months now while my house is being renovated. This is not an upscale place at all. It's an old hotel that they decided to re-do in a kitsch motif that I did not find soothing at all.
This is what you don't get for your $116 a night, which I think I got a discount because I booked for a week. No free parking, no coffee or breakfast items. There is coffee in the lobby but they were out when I went down there. No glasses anywhere so even if you did want to drink some of the $5 bottled water they offer there is nothing to put it in. I don't get why they offer ice but no glasses. My air conditioner quit during the night. They reset it and it quit again so they moved me. I would have overlooked that as things happen but the paying $15 a day for parking and no glasses just kind of put me over the edge. I also ate in their restaurant and got very sick. I've been living in hotels and eating in restaurants for a long time now and usually have an iron stomach. It started about 2 or 3 hours after I ate and lasted for about 12 hours so I think it's what I ate. There weren't many in the restaurant but it was a Sunday night. On a positive note, my grandkids did enjoy the pool for one afternoon. Oh and forget having anyone offer to help with your luggage. This is a low budget MOTEL with a hotel price.

There was no reassurance that you cleaned the room to the new health standards and for that reason i must share my doubts of this hotel.
the shower tiles are decrepit and needs to be completely redone.
our room faced the west side of the bldg and the noise from the traffic was unacceptable with loud motorcycles & trucks all night.
we were put into a wheelchair accessible room and the clothes hook cut into our arm going into the bathroom during the night before the light went on. it’s in a very dangerous position and could have been put on a bathroom wall.
with other options in the area i don't think we would stay here again.
p.s. we needed a bottle of water for our room and were charged $5 each where other hotels offer them to you for free. you need to be accommodating especially during the pandemic and this absolutely was not that & we wondered if the room was cleaned properly since all other hotels seal their rooms after being cleaned.
disappointing that we will have to check this off our list.

Hi Pamiam1010, I'm sorry to hear your stay with us did not meet expectations. For that, we thank you for your feedback, as it will help us become a better hotel. I've brought up the reassurance issue with the housekeeping team. Our inspectors are to be the last ones in the room, and are to leave a certificate explaining the cleaning details. I've looked into this and will make sure these procedures are consistently displayed. We have also taken steps with the engineering team about the bathroom and sound issue. Again, we apologize for the any inconvenience you had during your stay with us and hope that in the future we can show you our improvements. We wish you safety and the best. Thank you again for staying with us.

My family really enjoys staying at the Graduate hotels, particularly when road tripping with the dogs ($25 pet fee seems unnecessary - no pet extras were provided - but competitively reasonable). The hotel has a fresh vibe and style. We have stayed both in Lincoln, NE and Iowa City, IA and I'd say they were consistent, comfortable, and friendly places to relax for a night on the road.

The hotel offered so many accommodations and the staff were friendly. When we needed towels, fresh and hot towels were brought to the room. The wifi was fast and easy to connect to. The parking garage is tight though and you need to be careful when exiting! The location is right across from a lovely coffee shop and in walking distance of tons of different restaurants and bars.

The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. However, the parking garage was a nightmare. This hotel lost a star simply because of the parking. First, you have to pay an additional $15 nightly on top of the cost of your stay. Secondly as you use your room key to enter the garage, you will see the paint transfer from hundreds of cars as you drive the extremely narrow ramps to find an available spot. I would not recommend trying to park larger vehicles in this garage. There is no free parking options. The hotel is within the cute Haymarket area and parking there is limited and metered. From our room we had a nice view of the Husker Football Stadium. I enjoyed the theme of the hotel as we were down to tour the university and it fit well with our trip. I would encourage anyone that is unfamiliar with Lincoln to closely map the streets so you know where to turn into the hotel because it is surrounded by lots of very busy one-way streets and if you miss the hotel it can get tricky to turn yourself back around to try again. We also ate at the restaurant inside the hotel and on our trip they really messed up our food. My company's food came out cold and mine had to be completely remade. They were very friendly and did comp my part of the meal. However, I didn't receive my food until everyone that I was with had already finished eating. I am still undecided if I would return simply because of the parking.

Hi Ms. Kay, I'm Tim Cook and I'm the new Guest Services Manager, my first week. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us during your July 5th visit. I want to say and offer our sincere apology for us not meeting and exceeding your guest expectations. I understand how frustrating and disappointing these things happening can be. I have printed out your comments and I have reviewed with our team. I apologies our parking fee's were not mentioned when you made your reservations. I understand that could be a surprise. We charge for parking the lowest fee in the Haymarket area and downtown parking areas to make it better. I have shared your restaurant experience concerns with the ownership and management of Single Barrel Restaurant team. We now have maps at our front desk that shows the street and area around our hotel. I have asked our front desk associates to make sure we give to every guest that stays at our hotel. Please come back and see us again, you can call me personally and my pleasure to welcome you back to Graduate Hotel Lincoln Tim Cook

We arrived at 3 am following a delayed flight into Omaha, when we arrived the employee working the front desk told us that our reservation had been canceled because he figured we were not coming and he needed to get started on audits for the day... He asked us why we didn't know that the cut-off time was 3 am and that we should have known that and he blamed us not knowing on day shift, I've re-read through my reservation and the hotel policies and this is not listed anywhere. It took the employee over half an hour to "stop the audit" and "rebook' us. "For the trouble" he was us one night of "free parking." When we finally got our keys, it wasn't even the room I had booked. Checkout was a similar nightmare, the employee checking us out was having problems and needed help so she asked another employee who was in the middle of fixing a different problem, so the first employee asked me to step to the side and wait. It took 20+ minutes to get checked out. Honestly a very disappointing experience.
The bathrooms were outdated and lighting was terrible. When we called down for extra shampoo and boy wash since the bottles in our room were completely empty it took them over an hour to bring anything to us. There was also a large cut out in the shower that had no coveing, seemed to be for a fan but also unsettling .

Holly, allow me to apologize for your disappointing experience. If possible, we do request you call us to inform us of a late arrival just so we know to expect you. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for guests not to show up for the reservations, and our night auditors have reports that must be run by a certain time of night so it helps if we have a heads up that you are still coming so we can wait to run those reports. I will have a chat with my staff to make sure they don't make our guests feel like an inconvenience. I am so sorry this was the case for you. Once reports are run, it's an easy fix to reinstate the reservation. I truly hope you come back to visit another time to give us another chance as I know we can do so much better! Thank you for you honest feedback. I hope you have a wonderful week.

My family and I are taking a road trip from Toronto to Los Angeles to visit my kids’ elderly grandparents, who they haven’t seen in well over a year. We decided to stop at the Gradute hotel in Lincoln, in large part because I had had read their website which ensured potential guests that they were taking very serious precautions against Covid. For obvious reasons, my family’s safety is paramount, not only for those of us travelling, but for my parents who we are visiting.
Imagine my shock and horror when we arrived at the Graduate in Lincoln. As soon as we came in from the parking garage there was a huge event in the ballroom with 500+ unmasked guests walking all over the place, including the lobby (at the time of this writing the covid risk in Lancaster County has been deemed “extremely high” by the CDC and we are smack in the middle of the third wave). Furthermore, despite the many signs in the hotel announcing the hotel’s efforts to maintain safe facilities and signs all over the place mandating masks in all public areas of the hotel, fully 2/3 of people checking in were maskless. People were entering elevators maskless as well.
When I checked in I told the attendant how upset I was. She responded that she understood but there was “nothing she could do.”
This was the first time since COVID began that I felt that my family’s health was at risk, and I put the responsibility for this squarely on the Graduate. My advice: avoid at all costs

$15 a night. Charged to your room. Valet parking is $17/ night. Well worth the extra &2 if you can grab your stuff in one trip.
They have a parking garage. They do charge to park there. I usually just valet. It doesn't cost much more than parking yourself.
Hi-there is a great place one block away! take a left out the front door and quick left. Bar/restaurant in on right corner end of street.(Its also on the way to the arena) Came highly recommended by hotel staff! great burgers and service. There is another bar closer(right across the street after you take a left out front door but not nearly as good-OK for a beer tho! Enjoy
Nothing near that I can think of.
