My husband and I stay and Holiday Inn Expresses many, many times a year and thought this stay would be similar. To start with we checked in at 6pm there was 1 clerk dealing with check ins and the valet system(which does not work) , even though we had checked in on line and where 2nd in line this process took 30 minutes. We reserved a king 1 bedroom suite, when walking in I was blown away by the size of the room that feeling soon disappeared, the furniture was not comfortable and there wasn't really a space to relax in, we ended up hanging out in the bedroom for comfort. The valet system leaves a lot to be desired, the clerk checking people in and handling the front desk is also the same person that initiates the valet process which creates delays in checking in and also delays in getting the cars parked so the driveway becomes backed up and there is no place for new arrivals to park while checking in, the whole system is broken and not efficient. When checking out they did have more then 1 person getting cars but once again there seemed to be a lot of confusion on who was getting what car and who was working the valet desk, which basically was just a place for them to stand nothing happened at this desk. The room itself was large , but just missing the comfort we have grown used to when staying at a Holiday Inn Express, we had a kitchen but no utensils plastic or otherwise, a large refrigerator and a microwave but nothing to eat the food with that you heated up, also no trash can in the kitchen. Sound Proofing has to be one of the biggest issues of the hotel while the hotel can't control the traffic noise they did nothing to minimize the noise either the noise wouldn't have been any louder if there where open windows, this maybe be the primary reason we will probably stay elsewhere when returning to the area. No housekeeping unless requested, we did request housekeeping and they did come sometime late afternoon, the housekeeping consisted of leaving new towels and taking the used ones, the few items that where clearly trash where left on the kitchen counter (no trash can), the bed wasn't made , nothing was touched other then the towels, if that is all that is done upon requested housekeeping they need to change the term to towel replacement. The breakfast was sufficient, plenty of food at the correct temp, lots of options and the breakfast area was clean.

Hotel is nice, newer, clean. Beds are comfortable, Those are the positives.
The location is convenient to downtown and Hay Market, another positive, but the road noise is ridiculous. Turned the fan on hoping to block the noise but that didn’t mute the sirens that went by twice (once at 3 am). Understand the hotel can’t control traffic or emergency vehicles, but there is zero sound proofing. If you are a light sleeper, beware.
Also the valet service needs a serious revamp. You are automatically charged $20 to be terribly inconvenienced. We arrived back to hotel around 11:00 pm. There was nowhere to pull up outside because the entire drive up and surface lot were full or parked cars. Went around the block a few times and finally snagged a spot in the valet drive up. Went in hotel and No valet. Were literally told by the front desk clerk to leave our keys in the pile and the valet would get to it when they could. Tried to get our car on the way out this morning and waited for at least 15 minutes. To be fair, the valet was nice and there was a big team/group ahead of us, but the hotel should be aware and staff accordingly. The valet “service” is not a service at all but a total and complete frustration and inconvenience.
For those reasons, we probably wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

My family and I stayed at this hotel on June 29th, 2024. The hotel is situated right in downtown Lincoln, NE. There is underground parking for a fee. The nice part about the location is that once you are at the hotel, the historic downtown dining and bar district is well within walking distance (only a few blocks). If you have a long day on a road trip, like we did, this is exactly what you want! The hotel front desk was well-staffed and they were very helpful with the parking situation and with recommending somewhere for dinner. The hotel was easy enough to navigate - elevators were often busy, but moved quickly. There is a hotel pool, but not a hot tub. The room seemed to be new or newly refurbished, modern, and clean. Overall, I would stay at this location again.

You are required to valet park your car (at $20 a day extra) at this hotel because of its location downtown. They also valet park lots of non-guest cars when there is a Nebraska football game. One morning I happened to look out the window and see my rental car in the entry way, brought up by a valet at the request of some other guest. I ran down to make sure that they didn't give my car to someone else. They weakly explained that another guest had requested that the car with my valet number be brought up. I highly doubt this. The valet likely misunderstood the valet number stated by the other guest. In any case, an unnecessary headache caused by one of the numerous valets they use.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn express in downtown Lincoln, was maybe the best experience we’ve ever had while working on the road. Whether it be Greg, J C, Carmen or Allen parking our vehicle for us during our stay, they were always courteous and prompt. When we checked in, Larissa and Catherine were incredibly helpful and gave us service with a smile.

Over the next several days Linda, Tracy and Shyne continued the impeccable service we received from each member of the front desk crew. Each morning breakfast was inviting and enjoyable with Helen and Lin always willing to help with a plate or fix a drink. During our weeklong stay there were many times either Martha, Guadalupe, pearl, or Josephine we’re available to freshen our rooms and make sure we had plenty of towels and toiletries.

Again our stay at the Holiday Inn express in Lincoln Nebraska will be a stay that we were member as the best hotel during our 2 weeks in Nebraska.

The hotel was newer, clean, and the staff was somewhat friendly, but...We reserved a top floor room, that was not available. The room were were assigned was a smaller room, which was super inconvenient for 3 grown men. The breakfast was sub par for the rates this location charges. Salty, dry, and tasteless. The valet service was the most serious issue. It is $20 per vehicle, and mandatory. No free parking in the surrounding area. My truck was moved twice, even though I did not use it during our stay. The tailgate was scratched and dented, but I did not notice until gassing up to leave town. There were allegedly no cameras in operation at the time according to their insurer, Nationwide. My claim was denied. Visitors beware! Take photos of our vehicle before, note your mileage, and check it's condition before you drive away. Will not be staying in such a poorly run hotel again.

First time staying here, attending Husker football game, in walking distance of Memorial Stadium, Haymarket (including the Farmer's Market), bars, restaurants, shops, etc. (located right on 9th and O Street). Front door temporary parking when checking in and out. Valet parking only ($20-$30 per night). Great cold/hot breakfast, swimming pool and exercise room, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Would stay here again.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. It is very clean. The room was a standard room.
The hotel is very very loud from the noise from the street. It vibrates up the building as well I to the rooms.
I was a little annoyed about the valet parking charge but there really are no other options. The beds are SO hard as well, if that is something you don’t enjoy this is not the hotel for you.
I don’t think we’d choose to stay here again despite the lovely staff and clean bright spaces.
