We have stayed here for years and loved it. Last year we stayed here as well and other than the noise level (we were directly off the lobby) it was perfect. This year though was different. We showed up before check in time and were told that to check in early we’d have to pay $25 per room (before that was waived if you were a member). We’d been up since 4:30 AM and my toddler needed a nap so we paid it and were given our room (100). We walked into our room and it was immediately musty smelling. We set everything up and I sprayed room spray to help with the smell. After our son ran around a bit we got him ready for his nap and noticed his feet were completely dark/black from the carpets… The ceiling was cracked and starting to crack in other places. The side door from the parking lot only worked about 1/2 the time and in general it was a very noisy location for the room (doors slamming, kids running, etc). Then the breakfast area- the pancake machine didn’t work, the ladies struggled to keep up with the demand, and just overall felt lacking compared to previous years.…
We stayed here for a weekend trip to Branson. We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly and we enjoyed the outdoor pool. It is just off the strip so close to a lot of activities but yet still quite and relaxing.
First of all, overall a great experience. Pros: Location, outdoor pool was nice and clean, rooms were nice, and breakfast was okay. Check in night-June 15th-Two young people working and the only one that bothered to say hi was the girl. We saw both a few times coming and going, and the boy said nothing the entire time. Hospitality might not be his calling. Also, the soap they provide for showering is not okay. Soap used for hair and the body is gross, and should be separate. Note to all travelers-BRING YOUR OWN SOAP. We would stay here again.
I reserved a room at The Grand Oaks Hotel for 2 nights. The rooms were ok, nothing too spectacular. I was in Building 2, which is the older building. You can Immediately tell that nothing has been updated for years, but I didn't need anything fancy, just a room that was clean and safe. On my second night, I was woken up at 10:45pm to water gushing down from the ceiling from the room above me. It was going all over the floor and soaked and damaged some of my belongings that were in that area. I called the front desk and explained the situation and was told she would call me back. I finally received a call back about 10 minutes later and was told that I would have to move rooms, and someone would come down. The man that came down just knocked on my door and told me I needed to move to a different room, gave me the key, then asked me where the water was "supposedly" coming from...as I am having to stand in the doorway in a puddle of water with towels all around me and water still dripping from the ceiling. Like seriously?! So here I am at 11pm having to pack up and move all of my stuff and having to walk through water and deal with water continuously dripping on me each time I walked through the door. Oh and by the way, I had to wake up at 5am the next morning, but here I was having to deal with this without even receiving a single apology from the staff or any help. They all treated me like I was the inconvenience because the water was flooding my room from upstairs! The next morning, I spoke with the Front Desk Supervisor (I think her name was Rosa), who was very nice and apologized. This was the first apology I had received for this happening. I asked about a partial refund for one night of the room charges and she said she would have the owner call me the next day. Well, that call came and I spoke with Marilyn, the owner of Grand Oaks Hotel. I can now see why the staff treated me like the inconvenience that night and never once apologized for the flooding issue and my items being damaged...The owner was very rude and hateful, so it makes sense that her employees would act the same way. She said that all she could do was offer me a 10% refund (before taxes) for what I paid for the rooms for the 2 nights. That equated to roughly $20. I told her that was not acceptable and all I was asking for was a $50 compensation for the major issue that happened and for my damaged items. She kept refusing and said the most she would give was $25. She told me it wasn’t the hotel’s fault that another guest had damaged the room upstairs and caused this issue, so I needed to be understanding of that. When I told her that I would be posting a review about what happened during my stay and how they would not compensate me the $50 I was asking for, she got extremely hateful towards me and told me that she was no longer offering the $25 compensation to me and to have a good day and hung up on me. This is definitely terrible customer service by someone who is claiming to be an owner of a hotel. My total bill for the 2 nights was $240, and all I was asking for was a $50 reimbursement for the inconvenience, the terrible customer service, and for the damages to my items due to their flooding issue. I do not feel this was unreasonable by any means, but apparently Marilyn is struggling so bad that she couldn’t make things right on her end. We also had someone else in our group have to move rooms at midnight on their first night due to their air conditioner not working in their room and it being so hot. This is clearly a rundown hotel that the owner does not want to take any responsibility for and thinks it is ok to be rude and hateful to their customers for the problems that their crappy hotel causes. I really hope people see this review and think twice about booking their stay here. There are multiple hotels in that area that are 100x better to stay at and your items most likely will not be damaged while you stay there!…
We enjoyed our stay at Grand Oaks Hotel . Our room was very comfortable and quiet. Staff was kind and helpful. Hot breakfast was provided, with scrambled eggs, sausage and oatmeal. Fruit and pastries were also part of breakfast offerings. The breakfast area was nice and roomy.
I checked in Friday March 18th 2022. We rented one room. Our 1st room was in the 2nd building room 367. When I first walked in the light flikered and didn’t stay one. I called to tell them and they never checked on it. Then we turned on the A/C to our liking and left for the day. We came back around 8 and noticed our room was a bit warm. So we checked on the A/C and it came on finally. I called told them if they can come check it out. Then we decided to go swimming (which the indoor pool is in the 1st building). Came back to the room around 12:30am. Our room was still warm. Called they finally came around 1:37am. He tried to fix it and nope he changed our room to 250. We moved there for the night. I notice the pluming was making noise when you flushed it. Wasn’t going down all the way. I called told them the toiled is making noise if they could come check it out. The lady told us she could not fix it and gave us another room. Now room 259. I grabbed the card I needed to go outside to my car forgot my kids tried to scan my card to come back inside and the card would not let me in the building. This was during the day so not a lot of traffic. Had to walk to the 1st building and told them my card wasn’t working no where. They told me it wasn’t even turned on to come and go as I please only to my room. I called to speak to the manager to see what she could give me and she gave me 25% off both nights which is $42 dollars a night off. So I paid $305 for both nights after the discount. This hotel wants you to pay a higher amount like the hotel has no issues. It has plenty a major issue with plumbing. Also the wifi is horrible and you have to go outside just to get reception on your phone. Good luck if you stay here I will never stay at this hotel again.…
If you're considering staying at this hotel I'd think twice. When I booked this hotel I think I knew the hotel had two different buildings, however, I didn't put much thought into how different the two buildings would be. The main building where you check in was nice but our room was in the second building. The outside of the hotel felt run down, but I'm not necessarily bougie about hotels. Our room was fine. However, the first thing I noticed on our bed was a little blood stain on the sheet. It wasn't huge and we were tired so I was just going to let it go. However, 20 minutes later my daughter noticed a bug on her bed. We immediately searched what bed bugs looked like and sure enough it fit the description. She moved a pillow and there was another. I called the front desk and asked them to move rooms. Truthfully, if it hadn't been so late I would have looked for another hotel. The front desk staff was nice and moved us floors but I had a had time falling asleep after that. We killed the first bed bug and kept the second alive so they could confirm it was one. However, the person who came up to our room was just as creeped out as we were and didn't want to enter the room. I hope the hotel took this seriously and went through the proper protocol to remove the bugs. We were in the room less than an hour and hope we didn't bring any home with us. The new room was fine, but it's hard to feel comfortable in a hotel after that experience. We also had issues with our keys working and had to get them re-keyed several times. The nicest part of the second building is the breakfast seating area. At night the wi-fi was slow and pretty much worse than the dial-up days. During the morning it worked fine. I'm assuming it couldn't handle everyone using it at night. Even if we didn't have the bed bug situation I wouldn't stay at Grand Oaks hotel again. I think there needs to be more transparency about the two buildings and show clear pictures of both. We appreciated the staff's willingness to move us quickly into a different room, but it was a good lesson for us to check the beds more carefully going forward. If you see drops of blood on your sheets, it's most likely bed bug blood. One last thing, if you're not familiar with Branson the perk is you are right in the main part of the strip and are in close proximity to everything. However, making a left out of the parking lot takes some time and then making a left onto highway 76 can be rough during the day when traffic is heavy.…
Reserved two rooms for my family. Check in was four, but rooms weren't ready until after five. Called front desk twice and was told it would be a $25 fee for late check out. That was their policy and the female didn't have the authority to waive the fee. My daughter then called and asked the same thing. The male she spoke to was rude, hateful and condescending to her. My family, friends and Facebook friends will NEVER stay here again!!
This is by far one of the best places I have stayed at in Branson. Close to the shows, grocery store within walking distance. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, great breakfast in the morning. Pool and hot tubs are great. Which you guys were open year round.
No soap in the soap dispenser in the shower! After I got my head wet! Comes with breakfast but dried out sausage and sticky real sticky oatmeal. Oh well, what do you expect for $110.00 a night. ? No gravy. Not real butter, it doesn't melt on the toast
