Rooms are larger than typical hotel. Staff is friendly and available. Very clean. Traffick was light and no problems The outdoor pool 3ft-8ft. Nice views. Quiet area We pulled up and was not excited about this choice. We walk into clean room and spacious! The back door lead to personal porch and wooden area.

My wife and I were visiting Silver Dollar City this past weekend, and were looking for a place to stay, nearby. Compton Ridge Lodge was only minutes away, and reasonably priced. The Manager was friendly and very helpful in suggesting places nearby, to grab supper. The Room was clean and spacious, even with a King Bed, Full Sized Sofa and a Small Dining Table. We liked that the room had two entrances. One was near the parking, and the other opened onto a raised walkway facing the forest along the back. We will likely stay here again.

Our 10 lb poodle was mauled, mutilated and died from a vicious dog attack at Compton Ridge Campground & Lodge/Branson Ridge Resort. Do not stay here it is not a safe campground and the owners & management do not have the camper/customers best interest at heart. We did not realize Compton Ridge Campground rented permanent residence sites to campers (not referring to seasonal). The permanent resident on the Compton Ridge side, where we were camping, was owner to 3 dogs (one bigger and 2 small dogs). Security warned our neighboring campers to stay away from that guy with the dogs because he’s not ‘all there’ and has some kind of brain issue. We even commented to each other several times, ‘wow, that is a disaster waiting to happen’ when watching him trying to walk them because they were totally out of controlled. What happened to us: We had just come back from a long walk and did not notice the permanent resident dog guy cutting behind a camper behind us, up the hill towards our camper with his 3 dogs, leads fully out, and dogs again totally out of control. We always unhook our little 10 lb poodle before we go in the camper because she’s 11 years old, blind and can’t hear and the leash freaks her out going up the steps. You guessed it, the dogs far ahead of their owner round our camper and the bigger dog in a matter of 30 seconds grabs our poodle mauls and mutilated her and she died due to those injuries after 3 surgeries. At the time of the attack, the dog owner did nothing but yell at my husband to stop kicking his dog while the both of us we were trying to get his vicious attacking dog and the other two dogs off our poodle, and in the process both of us bitten and scratched ourselves. Still makes me sick when I think what if our tiny granddaughter had been standing there with us. We filed a complaint with Bill the manager at Branson Ridge Resort that day while our dog was in surgery and at the moment they were very concerned. We asked if they’d get the shot records for the dogs because we had to go back to the Veterinarians Office to get our dog from surgery. I’m assuming they have had complaints before, if I were a guessing person, the way the staff communicated with each other and knew exactly who my husband was talking about in the course of the conversation. Bill contacted us later that day and the dogs vet is in Florida and due to it being a weekend the shot records were unavailable. The vet taking care of our little poodle recommended the resort/owner quarantine the 3 dogs for everyone’s safety.  He assured my husband it would be taken care of.  Well, the next day the same dog owner had the same 3 dogs running loose at the Bark Park at Branson Ridge Resort (the members only side). I personally brought it to the attention of the security guy and he just smiled and shrugged his shoulders and said he’s there every day!! We have been in touch with Ocean Canyon the main owner of Compton and Branson Ridge and all they are saying is sorry it happened call us and we’ll give you the guys number and you can get the record information. Honestly, what about all the campers and their safety!! What if another unknowing person walks in that dog park? What would happen? Here we are 1 week later and still don’t have vaccination records. Are we going to have to get rabies shots? Branson Ridge Resort’s own brochure clearly states, -“Pets that are noisy, vicious, dangerous, disturbing or intimidating to other persons and pets that damage resort resources are considered to be nuisances and will not be permitted to remain in the resort.” -“Bark Park (off- leash). Current bordetella vaccination required.” Compton Ridge/Branson Ridge Resort didn’t even follow their own rules written in their brochure to protect their customers. They permitted the dogs to stay and did not have current vaccinations to allow them in the Bark Park. It is a very unfortunate incident and one we are still reeling from. Thank you for reading! I hope by writing this review that it will warn unknowing future campers about potential dangers at this RV Park. Bob & Ann, Oklahoma

Response from Ocean C, Guest Relations Manager at Compton Ridge Campground and Lodge
Responded 7 Nov 2019
First of all, we extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family for the loss of your pet. Because many of our members and employees are pet owners as well, we can empathize with the feelings you are having. Our heart goes out to you and your husband. We are committed to provide a safe and secure park for our members, guests, and their pets. We have never had an issue with this gentleman's animals before this incident. We have spent several hours investigating this incident. It's important to know that all animals should remain on their leash. Unfortunately, your animal that was not on his leash in violation of our rules, and engaged the gentleman’s pets who were all on their leashes. Again, we wish this unfortunate event had not occurred.

So sad to see Compton ridge go away. It’s now Branson ridge with a scamy time share. Regular folk can reserve at Compton ridge north campground with sites at about $50 a night and bad bathrooms - clean but cold and stark. If you want to feel like second rate citizens stay here. Brandon ridge has activities posted in the office where you check in for Compton-for families to enjoy ONLY IF you join the time share cult of Branson ridge The not friendly frazzled check in lady did inform us since the pool was closed for winter in the north park we would be ALLOWED to use the indoor pool. Good bye witchy weekend - good bye site decorating contest .Good bye Compton Ridge. Or until ocean canyons skips out and someone with a heart and vision can save what you to be- our favorite camp ground . Picture was in better times before ocean canyons ruined it all.

We chose this place for two reasons. First of all, it was only one of the few places with vacancies. Secondly, it was very close to Silver Dollar City, and third, it was only $79. We stayed on the first floor of the lodge. There is a huge campground with hundreds of parking spots. We drove through to view all of the motorhomes. This would be a great place to camp.

We had a family reunion here..3 rooms at the lodge and 2 campsites. I had booked the reunion in advance and the lady taking care of us from OceanCanyon Properties was very nice and was very helpful. As we got closer to time I got on TripAdvisor and read some recent reviews that did not sound good. I called the number, which is OceanProperties, and asked if they would get me connected with someone onsite to make sure all was well. They did so and the people at the property in Branson told me all was good there and didn't know why the reviews were bad. We arrived 1st...the campsites were awful. The lower campsites were rain washed..vehicles parked everywhere. The upper sites are ok which is where we parked, but certainly not good. All I can say is OceanCanyon Properties has made what used to be the south part of the park a time share thing and just keep the other one because it is by the lodge. Now the lodge We had people in 3 rooms, 1 room the beds were like cement and the other room the beds were bad and the air did not cool. The 3rd room I guess was ok. They do not have enough help on the north side where your ignored. It is sad that the park has come to this. Go across the street to Wilderness. Haven't stayed there but couldn't be this bad. The State Park is 10 times better.

We were able to book with Compton Ridge north after not having availability at Wilderness-Silverdollar city that is located across the street. After checking out both camps, wilderness has a huge edge! If you’re looking for all the amenities, game room, convenience, shuttle to Silver Dollar city, and more - wilderness is the place to stay. Compton ridge gets the job done but they need to put some money into it with catching up to wilderness!

Came for 3 free nigjts sales pitch. Ct needs lots of work. Second week of June, peak season, hardly anyone here. Very quiet. Lots of squirrels and birds. Even had a chipmunk in our site. (Didn't think they ranged this far south.) 2 pools, store, cafe, large pull thrus and lots of deep woods sites too for smaller units. Could be "the place" again but now a private, membership only place. Seems struggling to build up membership. Good cable TV, weak, useless WiFi at site 15 and wifi antenna was next to site 15 right above my unit.

Yall, this is not the same Compton ridge we all grew up camping at and loving. The main campground is now "Branson Ridge Resort". When you call no one can answer any questions, they offer you a 4 night stay free after you listen to their presentation. I asked how much it was to just pay and stay and the last on the phone said she couldn't answer those questions. That I would need to drive 3 hours to listen to the spill about the membership before they can even discuss pricing. It's just such a disappoint, I wanted to share my memories with my kids. Instead we will be going to The Wilderness Campground where they can answer questions and be kind when you call.
