A young coworker chose to stay here because of the price. He said it was nice, so I decided to check it out and bank a little more per diem money rather than stay in the $120/night places I had been. While it wasn't horrible, it also wasn't worth the savings for me. The bed was clean and comfortable, that's about it. The bathroom was small, and they only provided one tiny bottle of shampoo. No conditioner. The other two places I stayed while in town, Americinn and Riverport Inn, both had large reservoirs in the showers with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The hallways were cold, like there was no heat. I could here every sound outside my room, and there were sketchy people coming and going at all hours. The heater was loud and rarely shut, off, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing, because it provided white noise to mask the comings and goings in the hall at all hours. The breakfast stops at 9 during the week, so since I was working evenings, I never made it down. My coworker said it was bare bones, not good.

I’m not sure how this Hotel got such horrible reviews, it’s recently remodeled. It’s a cheap hotel. Do not expect the Plaza. There was shampoo in the room, but no conditioner. The room had a mini fridge with a freeze and a micro. All worked. Good temp control in the room. Front desk staff was friendly. The breakfast was really the worst part. Minimal, cereal, a waffle maker, milk, yogurt, coffee. They did have a juice machine, but it was not working. The hotel was safe, the only thing I will say they did get snow, but didn’t have the lot plowed. The north side of the parking lot was solid ice. I parked on the southside and entered through the back door and had no issue. I was at the room for eight hours a night to sleep, and that was it. I would stay here again for the price. Stayed for the NRCHA horse show.

This Super 8 was a reasonably priced pet friendly hotel for a two-night stay in Winona. It is located at a busy intersection and requires negotiation of the roundabout and frontage road to get in. There is free off-street parking though limited a bit especially for larger vehicles. When we arrived, no one was at the front desk. It seems that employees were in the parking lot fixing decorative lights and the electrician on site blocked the parking lot. It is close a Dairy Queen, Perkins and other conveniences at that intersection. Other restaurants and shops are a short drive away. The building has three levels and even access to the ground level through the back door requires going down stairs. The breakfast was mainly continental offerings with make your own waffles. Hard boiled eggs were the only protein. There was an accessible, reliable ice machine for guests. There was also easily accessible free reliable internet. Our room had a coffee maker, microwave and mini-fridge with a small freezer section. TV had good channel choices including Amazon prime for Thursday Night Football. We had a nice queen bed with ample pillows. The room also had a lounge chair and desk with chair. The bathroom had a shower and vanity. It was busy but fairly quiet even at that busy intersection. There was some green space to walk a dog. The hotel actually sits under the shadow of Sugar Loaf and the entrance to a road to go to the land formation is nearby.

Enjoy staying to visit our friends, also trying different places to eat. There was a festival going on with food and music. Great time! Could have been more of a variety for their breakfast like there use to be.

I checked into the Winona, Minnesota Super 8 on November 14, 2022. The clerk quoted a $59 room rate. I requested a receipt but was told that the hotel computer wasn't working. The next morning my online banking indicated that Super 8 had charged my CC $85.76. I questioned the day clerk concerning the discrepancy. She replied that the clerk who had processed my CC wasn't on duty. I asked to speak to the manager. The clerk told me he wasn't on duty. I requested his phone number, which the clerk refused to provide. Miraculously, the hotel computer was working when the clerk printed a receipt reflecting the elevated charge. If you check into this hotel, demand a receipt upon payment. If the hotel refuses to provide one, go to another hotel. There are many options in Winona, including a hotel just across the street from the Super 8.

Run down infested hotel complete with a rude hotel manager who was at my door demanding me to come out and sign paperwork which I would have gladly done upon checkout like normal hotels do, or a simple phone Call to the room. It was dirty very unclean complete with rotten apples kids toys bottle Empty toilet paper rolls screwn behind the furniture. I would never recommend this trap.

Under construction and having to stay on third floor not good for two older gentlemen! Should have been notified before booking! Parking lot and lobby dark and east parking lot dark as well. Guess representative was nice but couldn't discount the room!

To be honest, this hotel does not deserve the Trip Advisor endorsement. There are pros and cons. - The pros? Great locale if you want to hike Sugarloaf Bluff, decent price, and nice front desk people. They too are trying to renovate. The cons? Our bathroom was not well cleaned (my husband cleaned it before we used it), the "exercise room" was non-existent, we were told due to construction, the towels were terrible, and although the beds are nice, the bedding was not and one of the beds had a torn blanket on it, my husband's comment? - "They must have gotten a really good deal on the bedding and towels". I'd think twice before booking again. If they fixed it up we'd come back.
