We spent 3 days/night in august 2021 at Outros Tempos. I had read very good reviews and they were no lies: we had a wonderful time in this bed-and-breakfast. The hospitality of our hosts is -very- difficult to beat. We were warmly welcomed the evening we arrived by Amilcar who showed us our room and by his wife who offered us a glass of port wine and cakes. We were pampered every morning with a gorgious breakfast: up to five different home-made cakes (baked early in the morning by our hostess) and more than 10 home-made marmelades were waiting for the guests. The room we had was spacious, with very good commodities in the bath-room and warm, old, cosy furnitures that bring you back at your grans-parents house. A not-to-be-missed place! Un grand merci, muito obrigada, a big thanks to our hosts!

We found - albeit with a bit of hunting - this delightful inn situated up in the hills above the Douro River valley. The inn is in fact a set of four old stone houses. Our hosts, the Cepedas, provided an excellent dinner for us and the other guests, and a delicious breakfast before our departure. They kindly gave us a jar of the homemade preserves that we had praised. We would have stayed longer, but the frontiers were about to close in response to CoVid-19.

This property has nine residences that have been modernized very nicely, yet retain the feel of the old world from which they came. It is located in a rural setting and you can walk around in the orchards and vineyards as if it were a hundred years ago. The owners are extemely accomodating and make you feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. And you must opt in for the group breakfasts and dinners. We met many folks from all over and and had a fabulous time. The hosts keep bringing on the food trays and make sure to keep your wine glass full. Dinners here may well have been the highlight of our two week tour of Portugal. We felt sad to leave, but upon checkout, we were presented with a complimentary bottle of the owner's own home-made port wine, which we carried back to the U.S. and shared with our family. You must visit here. You won't want to leave.

Beautiful location with incredible views of the mountainous vineyards. The rooms we had were in a very old building which had been sympathetically modernised, and the owners were amazingly hospitable. The breakfast was delicious.

Outros tempos is an authentic experience. IT is truly unique. Having the chance to wander the streets of 400 year old homes, and actually sleep in a renovated building with so much history should not be missed. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and served fresh cake and Porto. You have the option of having a diner (supper) at a huge table with other guest. DON'T miss it. It was an awesome experience. The food just get on coming. Everything. was just so good. I cannot say enough about it. Also the chance to discuss with other guests... The breakfast is included, they have heat/AC in all buildings. Everything is very clean, the windows are sparkling.. The beds were comfy.. WE needed a GPS to find it. IT is a winding road, and just the views are breathtaking. We made lifelong memories.. GO and enjoy.. take a return to the past.. You won't regret it.....
