First off Steve and the staff were fantastic. Open minded, always willing to work with you and never seem to be challenged in any sense that would show any lack of professionalism. Overall, new hotel in Duluth. it's not in the greatest of 'view' locations, but it's a stones throw from downtown Duluth. It's a millennial design. Rooms don't have draws or closets. They have 'open' space concepts. TV is fantastic. Space and comfort controls all work well. Modern bathroom. No safe. Breakfast offering is much better then other mid-range free breakfast hotels. Excellent coffee. They have 'private seating stations' so if you need to relax outside of your room, they have private seating areas' throughout the lobby. For older and families that expect a traditional hotel may have a 'different' experience, but overall it's well worth the stay.

Hotel's Favorite
My son and I stayed at this hotel for the weekend and we enjoyed the stay. Our room was very clean and looked new. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated how well they explained the COVID policies like how breakfast was grab and go, the pool and workout rooms were available, but was available by check out policy, and masks were required while walking around the hotel. It was -20F while we were there so I really appreciated that there were several exits/entrances so I could chose one that was close to car. It was the first time I stayed at a Tru hotel and really liked the layout and amentities like having a small desk, no dresser(who uses them anyway?), no closet(but a rack/hangers in room to hang clothes), no microwave in room (but one in lobby to use), a fridge in room, a lot of food and berverage options for sale in lobby(so we didn't have to go out in cold if we needed a snack), and a lot of seating area in the lobby. The location was also very convenient - not far from 35W, less than 10 min drive from canal park/DECC, miller mall, and UMD. and close to tons of restaurants. Not much withing walking distance and it didn't seem pedestrian friendly in this area(although maybe I was missing paths with all of the snow on the ground),so plan on driving or catching a ride when staying there. I would definitely stay at this hotel in the future and look forward to trying other Tru hotels in the future.

We stayed for one night at this newer hotel in Duluth. The staff was friendly and professional. Check-in was swift and as Hilton Honors members we were given a little gift bag of 2 bottles of water and a small bag of popcorn. The person at the desk was able to recommend an excellent nearby restaurant for dinner. Rooms were nice, but better suited to short stays than longer ones as there’s no closet, just a small bar with hangers for clothing, plus some wall hooks, which we wound up using to hang towels since there’s no place to hang them in the bathroom. One other thing to note is that soap, lotion, shampoo are all in wall-mounted dispensers and proved to be a bit difficult to squeeze out the products. The beds were very comfortable. Their complimentary breakfast is top-notch, one of the best we’ve seen in a long time. Checking out went quickly and that person was able to direct us to a nearby supermarket and pharmacy so we could pick up some extra supplies to continue our trip.

Reasonable price even during high fall season. Easy location. Clean basic rooms but has everything you need. Quiet and friendly check in. Good breakfast in the morning (edible scrambled eggs) and I appreciated the excellent lighting in the bathroom so you can get make up on easily. Also loved the hydration station to fill up water bottles with ice option. Will return!

This hotel exceeded my expectations. It felt really clean and comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly, and the location was just up the hill from the lake- very centrally located. I’ve stayed in nearly every hotel in Duluth and this was top 3.
