Nestled in rows of cherry trees, across from the golf course, the house is beautiful, our rooms each had their own bathrooms and fireplaces and the bed in the Morrison suite was super comfortable. Eric and Misty, who run the place, keep it immaculate. They are friendly and funny and Eric makes the best breakfast I’ve ever had at a B&B. I highly recommend visiting if you’re in Northern Michigan and want to be within minutes of the lake, the resort and downtown ER or TC.

My partner and I were in the Traverse City area for a wedding and, based on a recommendation from the bride, booked three nights at Country Hermitage B&B. Misty and Eric were everything you could hope for in terms of hospitable, friendly and detail-oriented hosts. The room was immaculate and well outfitted, including a jetted tub. Eric prepared amazing breakfasts and put out delicious sweets in the afternoon for weary guests.
The location is in cherry orchard country. We had our breakfast served to us on the rear deck and enjoyed the splendid views of the orchards. Really, I can’t say enough good things about our stay and I should know. I owned a B&B for 18 years. We’ll certainly return when we visit TC in the future.

We stayed at Country Hermitage for two nights as part of our celebration for 48 years of marriage. Our bed and breakfast experiences haven't been good in the past but Country Hermitage had such good reviews we decided to try it out. So glad that we did. Very pleasant setting with hosts that make it truly feel like home. Ten times cleaner than a 5 Star hotel and beds that are extremely comfortable.I have environmental allergies, but no concerns here as there is no "I'm really an old house" smell at all. Eric and Misty have thought of everything to make visitors enjoy every aspect of their stay. Eric is a excellent, creative chef. The only thing more impressive than the beautiful presentation of breakfast was how great it tasted. We highly recommend. You won't be disappointed.

We were more than happy with our stay at the Country Hermitage B&B. Misty and Eric are great hosts! They went out of their way to help us get orientated with the area and helped us plan out a full day itinerary including sites and restaurants. The breakfast was certainly a highlight. Eric is a very good cook. The breakfasts were fresh and original (e.g. almond cherry pancakes). The property is also beautiful. The cherry trees were in bloom during our stay so they let us pick a bag to bring home. I would more than recommend the Country Hermitage B&B and hope to visit again soon!

Our visit was everything I thought it would be and more. Misty and Eric greeted us upon arrival and were friendly and welcoming. Our room was exactly as pictured online. This is an historic home, so while our room was small, it was charming and spotless. I was worried about the room being hot in July, but we were cool and comfortable. Besides the tasty homemade cookies each day, Chef Eric prepares a delightful plated breakfast every morning which we chose to eat outside on the large deck with panoramic views of the lawn, garden and surrounding organic cherry orchard. Misty and Eric have thought of every thing a guest might want including a beverage stocked refrigerator (locally brewed beer, water and sodas), lawn games, ice, gorgeous grounds and a level of local knowledge one only gets from a native. We loved our stay.

Misty and Eric are welcoming and kind! The rooms are immaculate and potential needs are anticipated. I enjoyed a warm bath with lavender bath salts after taking a refreshing walk among the cherry orchards. Even had a quiet place to feed the fish in the pond (fish food was conveniently provided). Breakfast each morning was so delicious - Chef Eric insisted that it was healthy, too. My husband and I were in town for a work convention. Staying at the Country Hermitage instead of the Resort was more relaxing and refreshing than past trips when we stayed at the Resort. Different experiences, both with pros to consider. Definitely am glad that we tried a new approach and definitely will return.

This is an amazing property. You feel like you are family and you are home. The property is immaculately kept and Eric makes the best breakfast - hands down. Both Misty and Eric are so friendly and go way above and beyond to make you feel welcome and special.
Things that made our stay special - always having freshly baked cookies available in the afternoon, access to their small kitchenette fridge so we could keep some items cold for a beach picnic, suggestions and recommendations on where to eat, best beaches, and things to do. But I mostly appreciated all the wonderful conversations with Misty and Eric. The are genuinely caring individuals and put up with my thousands of questions on running a cherry tree orchard and farming.
We have stayed here twice, once a few years before Covid and in August 2023. We are already planning another visit next summer.
If you want a place that is relaxing, welcoming, charming, and just a bit out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Traverse City - do not miss your chance of staying here.

+1
Last week we had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at Country Hermitage...and it was the highlight of our trip to Northern Michigan. Misty & Eric are the perfect innkeepers...professional, knowledgeable, warm & welcoming. They maintain a gorgeous B&B which is charming & beautiful & also extremely clean & comfortable.
The "cherry" on top of the entire stay was Eric's breakfasts...they were creative, beautifully plated & delicious. We are foodies & his food started our day with huge grins on our faces and extremely full stomachs. We will definitely be back & highly recommend staying with Misty & Eric @ Country Hermitage when visiting Traverse City!

Incredible stay. I booked with Eric and Misty for a trip where I was planning to propose to my girlfriend. Misty was very patient with me as our plans fluxed back and forth, but accommodated everything exactly right. When we arrived, it was golden hour and the sun shone a light on the property that was straight out of an oil painting. Everything was absolutely picturesque, we even dedicated one of our nights to just sitting on the deck and by the fire.
I wasn't planning to propose until the next day, so Eric and Misty helped me check in and then put out the romance package (champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, etc.) during the day while we were out the next day so it would be waiting for us when we returned. They were even so thoughtful as to go out and buy us an extra pack of sparkling ciders as a lovely gesture and gift.
Aside from all the custom attention we were getting, the amenities they provide are top notch. Eric is a master of his culinary craft and has prepared some amazing and innovative breakfasts that we will be talking about for a long time. And, as some other B&Bs are rather strict about their Breakfast policies, Eric and Misty were completely accommodating of our schedules and appetites.
I can not recommend staying here enough. It is a lovely taste of a beautiful old home, amazing nature and scenery, delicious food, and downright pleasant hospitality.
We will be seeing you again!

Awesome place and awesome people. My wife and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary here and it was well worth it. We will definitely be back. Misty and Eric made the stay even better. Both Misty and Eric were very easy going, friendly and very helpful and Eric's mastery at cooking breakfast was fantastic. I could have swore this was heaven!!
