Staff not very welcoming. Seemed to really not want to be bothered. Restaurant closed due to COVID. Obviously cheaper than to adhere to a strict cleaning protocol, $182/ night for 2.5* hotel is greatly overpriced - despite the short season they operate Filthy carpet. Outdated bedspread/ sheets/interior but spacious room in the "newer" building in the back. Entrance door to the building was never locked. Safety concern. Either unlocked or propped open.
MUNISING itself is rather disappointing. No quaint flair. Construction Zone through most of center. fast Food mostly. Breweries do not offer food. Most close at 9 pm so be there in time - don't hike late as you may be left w/out dinner.

We stayed here because it was the least expensive option during the Fourth of July in the Munising area. The hotel was clean, quiet and the staff was friendly. It's about 100 yards away from the road so there's no noise.
The hotel is three buildings - 1) reception, breakfast, and gift shop 2) 2-story building visible from road, 3) 2-story building with an interior hallway. This part is probably the newer section.
•Hotel is 8 minutes outside of Munising and 1 mile from anything besides the KOA Campground next door.
•The indoor pool is closed.
•No elevator
•Ice machine, TV, coffee maker, microwave, fridge, wifi (somewhat patchy)
•Breakfast is toast, bagels, mini muffins, pancakes, cereal, juice, milk, fruit, yogurt, and coffee.

My husband & I visited Munising for a day as we were passing through on our way home from Ironwood/Bessemer. Booked our room just a couples days before our visit. When we arrived at check in there was no one at the desk until the phone rang. Guess we should have for service. We stayed in the back building in a double queen bed room. The hallway had detailed carpet. The room was on the bottom floor & was BIG. I paid extra for our room to have a fridge but it was not as the one the appeared in the pictures. The heat & air is ran through a wall heater/air conditioner. A bit older hotel cause our room had a blue toilet & shower. There was a conjoining door to another room that didn't help with our late nosey neighbors. The walls are thin so we heard not only next store but also neighbors above and the ones running up & down, yelling in the hallway. For this just being a place to stay it did not go well together. It is a hotel geared toward snowmobilers. Makes sense with Munising Snowmobile Rentals right next store. The pool was not filled with water. The breakfast was a grab and go of muffins, granola bars, breakfast sandwiches, juices, and coffee. I don't know if we would stay again for a night, we definitely would NOT for a longer stay.

For the record this is no longer called Econo Lodge Inn & Suites. It is now called Quality Inn & Suites. Large room in a beautiful setting. Huge area outside of motel to sit and enjoy or for kids to play. Good breakfast in a large breakfast area and good staff.

This was by far the most disgusting place I’ve stayed in. This room shouldn’t be a room that you’d pay over $30 for. It smells, has black mold near the ceiling in the bathroom, the hide a bed was broke and they pulled in a cot that had pee stains all over it. There were cracks in the walls. The pictures on their site don’t even compare to what reality is. I grew up poor, lived in bad places and this was one step above a crack house. The other pictures I have are with my kids and I won’t share it. The bedding on the king bed consisted of a sheet and a decorative sheet. No blanket, no warm cozy comforters. The staff was very kind to me, but for a nationwide company this was unacceptable in every way. My daughter asked if she could sleep in my truck because it was cleaner.

First of all the rate they charge for these rooms is outrageous. Let's start there. I got a discount and still paid $160 for the night. Google travel has these rooms at about $200 a night. Absolutely absurd! The room smelled, the beds suck, there was no hot breakfast which was advertised, the pool was drained and not operating which they claim was because of covid. However, my stay was June 2021 when covid restrictions have been modified, other hotels in the same chain have pools fully operational. So I paid $160 to stay in a smelly room with a hard bed and no other amenities. Then the girl at the front desk had the audacity to tell me that their prices have been modified to reflect the fact that they aren't serving breakfast and don't have the pool in operation. I just blank stared at the wall for like 5 minutes because how?!?! Just to be clear, even with both of those things the hotel is not worth the price they are charging. Find a better property to stay at please. Do not stay here.

The room was really expensive, the toilet was almost on the floor it was so low, the wallpaper was peeling and the pool was closed and it was not posted when I booked my room. There was no view at all and all the plugs were so loose you could barely charge your phone or dry your hair. That staff was rude except the young lady who checked me in. The desk person who checked me out wouldn't even look at me and I had to ask her for my receipt. I then found out they charged my room to 2 cards. The 1 I reserved with and the 1 I paid with. Pros were the towels were big, clean and soft as were the sheets and pillows.

Extremely disappointing stay at this hotel. We arrived mid-week and the cost of the room was the most we paid in all of the Upper Peninsula, and by far in the most disrepair. The pool wasn’t open, security locks on both access doors were broken, the carpet was tattered and terribly stained and the building & rooms looked worn. I was a “choice” member in the past, and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Booked a reservation on the pretense that it was one of the more affordable options with a beautiful pool and hot tub area. After checking in I was informed that they had no pool. I assumed I made a mistake, but discovered they did have a pool and hot tub- it was just boarded up and had been out of order for years.

Toilet ran every few minutes all night. Found rotting corn floating in some kind of liquid in the coffee pot. Water pressure was non existent. No blanket in the room. Bathroom faucet also broken in multiple ways. Sink was propped up with a piece of wood. Coffee in the lobby was flavorless. Continental breakfast was almost completely inedible.

I tried canceling my room an hour after checking in, before settling in, but was told I'd be charged for it anyway because they have a 24 hour cancelation policy.

2/10, I won't be back.

False advertising on the website. The place looks somewhat decent online. Arrived at 2:00pm. Was told check in was at 3 and was to wait til then. Understandable. So we went for a drive to some waterfalls. Once we returned we got our key cards. Entered our room and the musty smell. We kept the door open to relieve the odor. Looked at the beds and found stains on the sheets. We decided to take a walk to check out the pool and hot tub only to find out they were both empty. It was at this point we decided to no longer stay the night. Went to the front desk to try and get a some of my money back. Was told Nope. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy and it was my responsibility to call the hotel to see if the pool and hot tub were shut down. So we gave up and went down the road to cobblestone. Beautiful hotel and very nice pool with hot tub that's open til 2am. What a blessing.
