It is a Historic Hotel with an old reception and hallways. The rooms have been renovated. Our room was small (to expect in an old hotel) but nicely decorated, clean with a comfortable bed. The bathroom and shower are small. We visited outside their peak season and breakfast was no longer offered. The staff has been very helpful and accommodating. Old fashion service! We had a great time and can only recommend this charming hotel. The location of the hotel is unbeatable within walking distance of all the downtown sites.

Tiny historic hotel. Room was semi clean. The floors were sandy and the light from outside was only blocked by mini blinds. This place could invest in a pair of drapes. The desk clerk was very friendly and gracious. Would probably not stay here again due to the size of the room and bathroom.

Hello, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We have a dedicated housekeeping staff that is committed to ensuring your room is at its peak cleanliness. Unfortunately, it sounds like maybe we dropped the ball that day. I apologize about this and sincerely hope that it did not affect your stay too much. Otherwise, being a small family owned operation in a historic hotel some of our rooms are a comfortable size, but we do offer larger bedroom and bathroom options. Feel free to check out our double queen rooms or our suites anytime on our website and we're here to answer any questions that you have. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to host you again and hopefully turn your previous experience around. Warm regards, Maegan Svita

Great rustic hotel right in the center of South Haven. Parking can be problematic in South Haven. Hotel Nichols is within walking distance of everything. Leave vehicle parked and enjoy the city. Maegan was the consummate hostess at the hotel very knowledgeable and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. They served a great breakfast. When we come this way again we will definitely return to Hotel Nichols.

Really great hotel. Even better service. Happy hour with adult beverages and snacks…we were even treated to freeze pops! The breakfasts were great. Our room was fabulous even though I can always use more water pressure in the shower. We really enjoyed the lobby, piano and we had happy hour and breakfast entertainment. It’s a great day when you are starting with a burrito and Jethro Tull on the flute, sitting outside in garden patio. Maegan provides such great services. I don’t think I’ve ever met a hotel person that worked so hard and did so much for her guests. My wife mentioned cookies on our check in and next thing you know…we had warm chocolate chips that were delicious. We also arranged for flowers in the rooms..Maegan at your service! I enjoyed South Haven and I will be back…but only if I can stay at the Historic Hotel Nichols! Maegan…thank you so much!
