Stayed in Saugatuck 3 days last week and so glad we chose Captains Quarters to stay. Cody and Crystal are delightful hosts and if you ask they will let you see their beautiful German shepherd. The rooms were spotless. Could not hear the guests next door. Lovely landscaping and really helpful suggestions from the hosts. Walking distance to downtown through a lovely neighborhood. Would highly recommend and will stay again. Left a book in the room and they promptly mailed it to me.
When we travel to Saugatuck, we never any place except for Captain's Quarters. Crystal and Cody are amazing! If you want a clean, welcoming and hosts that really care about their guests, this is the place to stay! Also walking distance to downtown! What more could you ask for!?
It was such a pleasant stay! Only 14 rooms, family run. Comfortable room, quiet, such a pleasure to stay in a place that wasn’t corporate run. The room was perfectly maintained and the sheets were high quality. We had a nice breakfast. Each room had wi-fi
This is a nice, clean place that’s not far from town or the beach. Basic - no in room microwave or coffee maker, just a fridge & tv. Probably the cleanest motel/hotel I’ve ever stayed at & the bed was really comfortable with extra pillows. They have a nice breakfast set up with a lot of choices, even during the pandemic. We will stay there again.
Great Stay - Our room was clean, and you can tell they work hard to maintain the property. Since I’m in my 50s, this is what I remember being a motel growing up. One piece of advice is to keep the air conditioning on max until the room is at a humidity level that works for you. It took us a day to ask about it, and the owners knew exactly what to tell us, which brings me to the second point. Attentive Owners - From the moment we had to cancel our first reservation due to COVID restrictions, until the day we left, the owners worked with us, and helped to make our visit a pleasant success, and for that we are very grateful. Location - With family in Douglas and most of our activities occurring between the Douglas and Saugatuck, the Captain’s Quarters was a perfect location. Additionally, every morning, I would walk to downtown Saugatuck, and it was almost exactly one mile to the center of town. NOTE: While the owners provided us a five star stay, there were two things to note. First, the rooms are dated. I would call them “old school”, and that’s because I’m old(ish). Second, the breakfast, is more like a “grab and go” if you have no other options. Fortunately, we found some outstanding places to get coffee and breakfast.…
