We are just a stone's throw away from the Kewadin Casino. Whether you want to stroll down the mile long boardwalk in downtown St Ignace, or travel one of the ferry's to Mackinac Island, we are just minutes away.
I've stayed at the Cedars for the past couple years and I love it. The owners are very nice and helpful. It might be an older place but you won't find a cleaner room in all of St. Ignace. If you're looking for luxury then this ain't it. If you are looking for a clean, cozy and comfortable place then look no further because it's here at The Cedars.

We stayed in Room 1. Great value and location. The couple (I believe the owners) were so kind and offered information on local things to do. Room, bed and pillows were very comfortable. Shower had hot water and good water pressure. The coffee was delicious. They had a bonfire and s’mores both nights we were there. We had busy days so we did not participate although it seemed all were having a good time. We will definitely stay again when passing through.

I enjoyed my stay at this cute little vintage motel. The operators were very hospitable and helped my daughter and I with discount Mackinac ferry tickets tickets and shuttle transportation. This made our trip easier. Other amenities included breakfast, coffee, a fire pit with S’Mores. This hotel evokes the nostalgia of family road trips.

Hannah & Alex are wonderful! The location is perfect for a UP trip; central location and charming accommodations. They did a bonfire with s’mores the night we were there. It made the stay extra special. The room was very clean & comfortable. Also note, that they sell discounted tickets for the Mackinac Island ferry.

Let me list the ways this motel disappoints. The air conditioner, in the wall type. Only works on high & loud. Messed up our reservation & we called, spoke to front desk so no 3rd party mistakes. Yet they charged me for 3 nights when I told them two, got a refund which will show in 5 to 7 business days. The breakfast, pathetic. Coffee, barely defined as such. Noise all night, banging, yelling. Room smelled musty. Luckily we were on the island most of the time but trying to get rest here is not feasible especially staying in the lodge area. Definitely avoid this place.

Hello Kristena, We are sorry to hear about your disappointing stay. Upon checking our reservations, we had trouble finding your reservation in our system. What room number were you located at? Also, we take payment here at the property so this doesn't sound like it was our motel you stayed at. We also don't have a lodge area. I believe the hotel you stayed at is the Cedar Hill Lodge. We are the Cedars Motel, not Cedar Hill Lodge.

My family and I chose to say in St. Ignace in order to travel to both Mackinaw Island and Whitefish Point. We couldn’t be more pleased with our choice and grateful for this motel. This motel is exactly what a perfect roadside motel should be. - a comfortable and clean breakfast nook with all the necessities: coffee, hot water, ice, and breakfast fixings. - a fire pit which the owner starts in the evenings for guests. My daughter fell asleep in her sleeping bag around the fire ring in conversation with the owner and other guests. - incredibly clean rooms, down to the bathroom. Direct TV lulled me to sleep after a long day. - the location is beautiful: near downtown, right by 75, and across from a little store/bakery/impressive meat counter. - the owners’ high standards and love for their business are evident and such a gift to see at work.…

I personally prefer smaller, vintage style Ma & Pa motels to larger, chain style ones when I travel. I was thus delighted to discover and experience the Cedars Motel on a recent 2-night stay in St. Ignace over Memorial Day weekend. It, and the owners, are simply marvelous! The owners… Alex & Hannah… were very welcoming and helpful. It was quite apparent to me that hosting their guests and caring for their property are labors of love. My room was one which they recently renovated. It was exceptionally clean and cozy. The furnishings and décor very inviting and relaxing. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Every evening they put on a campfire and hang out and chat with guests who wish. Its location, near Castle Rock and away from most of the hustle and bustle, to me is ideal… very quiet and peaceful. I cannot recommend the Cedars Motel too highly. Whenever I stay in St. Ignace again, I would not even consider any other lodging option. …

The room and bathroom was clean, the owners seemed nice and friendly. Those are about the only positive things. The room didn't have a deadbolt or chain, only the lock in the handle. The walls are paper thin, we heard our neighbors showering early in the morning, then we heard the gulls yelling at sunrise. The shower is dated and not lit and there is no fan in the bathroom. The toilet is seated very close to the wall, it didn't bother us but if you are not a skinny person - you'll notice. The bathroom towels seemed clean, but they were worn and had tatters and holes. There is some cereal or coffee available as a 'breakfast' served in the office, but not until 8am. We might have been willing to put up with some or all of this if we had a bargain price, but we didn't. We paid over $100/night (cheapest we could find in the area when we booked). …

Loved this quaint little motel in the north side of St. Ignace. Easy access to I-75 north to the UP. Small but very comfortable rooms with refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. We even had a fireplace in our room. The bonfire in the evening is an extra nice touch. Loved that it is family owned and non-smoking and no pets allowed. The family were very friendly and helpful.

Nice little mom & pop motel. Very clean, comfy bed, micro, fridge, coffee maker in room. I called when I booked it to request an accessible room as my wife is in a wheelchair. I was told it was accessible. IT IS NOT ACCESSIBLE. Even a person using a cane would have difficulty getting into the rooms. You can't get a wheelchair into the bathroom.
