This hotel was recommended by relatives who live in Rochester. It is very convenient to everything in town. Lovely, lovey, first class hotel. You know that as soon as you walk in. Our room was very large, super clean, and a most elegant bathroom with walk-in shower. We had a little snafu with the charges because we used a 3rd party. However, the manager was very proactive, and did a great job in getting it corrected. We were a little disappointed that the restaurant was not open (we stayed on Tuesday), and I think breakfast was only available on weekends. However, with things opening in Michigan, it should be back to normal soon. This is THE hotel for your stay in Rochester.
Wonderful staff, clean rooms, amazing bar/restaurant. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay amazing! The front desk staff worked well under pressure. Would definitely recommend staying at the Royal Park Hotel
It is very interesting to learn how the hospitality industry learned to deal with COVID. Many properties still understand guests comfort and experience to be the utmost concern while others get caught up in the whole "safety first" thing and forget that guests are paying a lot of money to stay. Royal Park unfortunately decided to go the latter route. Once on the level of The Townsend in Birmingham, now it is just average. We stayed in the Park Suite boasting a kitchen, fireplace room and bedroom. However due to COVID, they removed half the furniture. Asked why, I was told they wanted to limit guests in the room. I guess that meant that there were parties in the rooms so they took out the furniture so guests could not sit and relax. The suite was so barren, it echoed. The kitchen was depleted of everything except for a single knife and two forks and spoons. Forget about a wine opener. They tell you upfront there is no turndown service either. Oh, forget about complimentary bottled water, you have to pay $5 for a liter of FIJI, this being in a $500 a night suite. Amenities in the bathroom? We were lucky to have shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Forget about mouthwash, cotton balls or anything nice. The fitness center has the same equipment when it opened in 2004. Forget about a Peloton bike or even any spinning bike. No foam rollers, yoga mats or even towels (I had to call for those). We wanted to have a cocktail at the restaurant Park 600 but alas the bar was full with a 20 minute wait. Hotel guests are on the same par with visitors. We left. The best thing about the hotel is the location, only a few minute walk to Main Street and very close to the trail system. We did have brunch at 600 and it was a terrible experience and highly recommend not to go here. Dinner could be a better idea, just make reservations in advance. Overall this is nothing special about the hotel anymore. No flowers, no nice touches, even the library is stripped down and uninviting. The two chandeliers have burnt out bulbs which I guess is OK considering it is COVID.…
Always a great stay. Great location, walking distance to the town. Many nice shops and restaurants in town. Use the know your town perk for great deals. Nice bar area and food has always been good. Also meeting rooms are available.
We were married here and return each year to celebrate our anniversary. We love the hotel and the staff always goes above and beyond by recreating our wedding meal. This year, even with covid, they went out of their way to make sure we could have our meal in the room so we did not have to miss it (there is no in room dining at this time).
