You are basically paying for the location in this lodge, as it is right at the center of Calle Crisologo. But if you consider the cleanliness, the bathroom, and the staff, then you will realize that it is NOT WORTH THE MONEY. For the room, it is spacious but it was dirty and has ants. I followed where the ants are going and found left over foods, under the bed, from previous guest. For the bathroom, shower's drain was clogged and poor water pressure. Tip: there are other hotel that are just less than a minute walk from Calle Crisologo and they are way more cheaper and better.

To complete Vigan's flashback in time experience I decided to check-in my family in Escolta's Lodge. It was reminiscent of my Great Grandfather's spanish time house with lots of childhood memories. The staff are friendly and helpful, our room is comfortable just like home although my child find it sort of a haunted house which is exciting to me if its true. It is right in the Calle Crisologo, the main tourism spot and adjacent to all things that you may need. The parking lot for the hotel is covered and secured by Guards but located a few blocks away. Its clean and quiet just like home

I was over the moon to have stumbled into this wonderful hotel in the heart of Vigan by accident. I was searching for two other places both of which turned out to be fully booked, I only visited this place to enquire about other hotels for my budget assuming this would be much too expensive given its central location, and was surprised to learn that it is infact more than reasonable, furthermore the manager gave a discount given it was very late night and I was robbed previously in another town which had severely depleted my budget. I cannot rate the staff and the manager highly enough for their wonderful service, friendly and welcoming nature throughout my stay. I opted for a private room which was spacious with a comfortable double bed. I appreciated the exterior and interior architecture with most of the original structure and decor retained. I anticipated it to be noisy given it is in the heart of the most central and touristy street in Vigan but this proved not be an issue, I slept comfortably perhaps too much :-) Whilst a couple of the facilities could do with a bit of updating, all in all you cannot expect such a wonderful place to stay in such a central location and with a great team of staff for the price. I also feel incredibly fortunate that the other places happened to have been overbooked as neither would have been such great value.
