Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travelers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Hotel is nice, clean, quiet and convenient to places to eat and shop but they charge $8 for parking. Would rather have breakfast included for $8 than pay for parking in a regular lot like all the others that don’t charge for parking. Something to consider when comparing prices with other nearby hotels.

I would like to give very special recognition to Kayonna Church at the Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis. Ms. Church made sure that our teenaged son was safe to wait in the lobby as our room was still being made up at check-in, while the rest of the family had to dash out for an appointment. During our three-day stay, it was always a pleasure to see and chat with Mr. Church. Our family traveled all around the country this year and stayed in a number of hotels. The individual attention we were given by Ms. Church surpassed all the rest! She is outstanding and made our time in Annapolis very pleasant. :)

The room is spacious, accommodating, and beautifully decorated with contemporary decor. The beds are soft and comfortable. The water pressure in the shower is intense and hot, which facilitates excellent bathing. The location is in close proximity to dining and shops. The staff is friendly and competent. The front desk associate, Kayonna Church, was very knowledgeable and helpful in correcting an issue with our reserved stay. She provided excellent interaction and experience to solve my issue and get us settled into the room.

This hotel under the helm of General Manager Kristy Kryger is not focused on the customer.
It all started the night we arrived. Since we arrived late, we opted to use the remote key function to gain access to our room. My family and I were surprised to see the door latch was on, disabling the door from closing. We immediately felt unsafe. I shared my concerns with the front desk, but he didn’t see anything wrong with the situation.
Second, when I attempted to use the laundry room, I asked the front desk if the machines are credit card or coin operated. The agent told me it uses coins and costs $2/wash and $2/dry. I presented him with a $5 bill and requested $4 worth of quarters. He shared he didn’t have any quarters. I asked if there was a way he could get quarters. He told me no and that I could walk across the street and ask CVS. No effort was made to procure the quarters on my behalf and even when the agent phoned Kevin, the front-end manager, he didn’t offer guidance or a solution.
Third, the morning we departed, I went to grab a cup of coffee, but apparently there was no more regular coffee. I asked if they had more brewing. Kevin quickly told me no, breakfast was over. It wasn’t even 10 am. There was no attempt to do anything further.
Clearly this hotel’s modus operandi is not focused on serving the customer and doesn’t adhere to following the Hilton Garden Inn Promise.
Please note that I don’t like delivering entirely bad reviews, so I will note that the bed was comfortable and afforded a good night’s sleep.

Many hotels in Annapolis area are older and this one is definitely in need of some TLC. It does not have the Hilton feel and some of the basic things we are accustomed to with Hilton, is absent here.
Checking in, sweet staff member, didn’t relay anything but give us our key. The key you actually have to insert into the a slot- something i haven’t done at a hotel in I couldn’t tell you, how long…
Used to grabbing some coffee, tea or water in the lobby after a long day? Not here. They said they only have that for breakfast so no water unless you want to buy it in the little shop. Member water is in the rooms.
Need an office center? They don’t have one here anymore. But if you absolutely need to use a printer, you can use the one they had in the old office center.
Rooms are dated, no ventilation in the bathrooms so mildew exists in edges by the shower. First time in a hotel that I could hear the alarm of the person in room ABOVE us…along with his every step back and forth.
Diamond members can choose to have $10 a day towards their breakfast menu. Buffet was an option but I suggest ordering your eggs to order. The breakfast buffet “scrambled eggs” were rubbery and waxy from sitting too long. Dinner is not an option here as most HGIs. Their “restaurant” is not open after breakfast time.
Overall, had some poor sleep with how loud the rooms are from outside and neighbors. On the positive side, their A/C unit is quieter than you’d expect, and they are located by a couple of restaurants that can be walked to if needed.

Extremely poor guest services and poor hygiene. My wife and I checked in on Aug 11th (The room was reserved in wife's name) and found that our room had food left over from the previous guests who were staying there. This is unacceptable to any guest checking in because it not uncommon to expect clean room. We tried calling the front desk for 2 hours without anybody even picking up the phone. We finally ended up calling the guest complaint service and a lady named Demy picked up and tried to get in touch with hotel front desk. She came back to tell us that front desk does not see us registered in that room. We were getting frustrated at this point because we were in the room and were actually calling to complain the room has not been cleaned. We asked someone to come over so we can show them the issue and Demy told us she is not in the property but a different location and front desk person cannot come because they have nobody else to cover for her. We provided her again with the confirmation number and then she just said "Oh now we are able to find you" and could not figure out why the front desk couldn't find us intially. We asked house keeping come and clean the toom and they told us there was no house keeping person in the facility that day. On top the staff was rude and did not even have the courtesy to apologize. There only respo se was "if you want you can leave". The next morning we go back to the front desk and mentioned again about having the room cleaned. We even met the house keeping lady and showed her the trash that was left behind by the previous residents. It is 2 PM on day 2 and our room has still not been cleaned. Even basic amenities like getting towels is an issue. Additionally the internet does not work and when asked they tell us the wifi is broken. This is the worst experience I have ever had staying at a Hilton. This experience has jolted us so much that we will think twoce about staying at an Hilton ever again. Terrible service and no sense of hygiene or cleanliness. Very disappointed by our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis.

I am a Hilton Honors member and have been loyal to the Hilton brand for more than 30 years. I have also recently retired after 40+ years in the housing hospitality industry. With few exceptions I have always been pleased with the Hilton properties I have stayed at. Last night was one of those exceptions.
We arrived at the Hilton Garden Inn Annapolis in late afternoon. By the way, the hotel is not in Annapolis… rather it’s in a suburb about 15 minutes outside of Annapolis although the trip to downtown Annapolis wasn’t bad.
Entering the lobby we saw that the carpet in the lobby was dirty as was a table in the lobby. As another client commented on, there were water bottles filled with fruit but did not have water in them. If these are not going to be maintained, why not remove them entirely? The optic of leaving them there empty coupled with a less than clean lobby area was not a good first impression.
Check in was smooth and while I was acknowledged as a Hilton Honors member, there were no amenities provided as I have typically experienced at other Hilton properties.
We took the elevator to our room on the second floor. The hotel looks as though it has had a facelift, but if so, it was cosmetic, only. The room furnishings are dated, there are no charging ports for electronic equipment (which is problematic as the availability of electrical outlets is also limited within the room). There was one partial roll of toilet paper in the bathroom and no sign of a spare roll. There were no tissues in the room - just the empty box left behind. The plastic stand for the toiletries in the bathroom was dirty. There was one cup in the room for two guests and the bathroom sink would not run cold… even with just the cold spigot turned on, the water dispensed ran warm.
The bed was comfortable but the pillows so soft they offered no support when trying to sleep.
At best I would rate this a 1.5 to 2 star hotel. We visit Annapolis from time to time… suffice it to say we won’t be booking this property again in the future.

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for the feedback from your recent stay with us. I am happy that you had an easy arrival experience and found the beds to be comfortable. I do apologize for the issues you experienced in your guestroom. Unfortunately with the delay in shipping the charging ports to complete all the guestrooms and not just our king rooms are on back order. The lemons in the glass containers upon entering the lobby are just decoration. We will consider from your feedback to maybe offer a fruit water stand in the future. I have used your review as a training for my housekeeping team to ensure extra amenities have been placed in the guestrooms prior to guest arrival. We do hope you give us a second chance to WOW you on your next trip to Annapolis. Thank you,

I'm a Lifetime Hilton Diamond Member, and my wife and I have stayed hundreds of nights at Hilton properties around the world. We've stayed at this particular property dozens of times, mostly because of price and location. We started staying here around the beginning of the Covid pandemic, and since everyone was understaffed at the time, we were flexible and accommodating to hotel's challenges. Rooms were not clean, surfaces were sticky, floors were dirty, etc. We often asked for cleaning supplies and did our own wipe downs. But now, two years later, is there any more excuses for dirty rooms and rude staff?
Our last stay was earlier this month, we spent a couple of nights there. It will be our last time. Enough is enough. Our second night there, the hotel lost power. Front desk staff didn't say anything about the power outage when we walked past them and said hello on our way back into the hotel. First indication was seeing elevators out. Since we were checking out the next morning for an early flight, we asked to change our room from the top fourth floor to the first floor. Nobody offered to help us with our luggage down 4 flights of dark stairways. Emergency lighting in the hallways was spotty, some hallways were pitch dark, same with the stairways leading up to the top floor, the top flight was pitch black. We used our phone flashlights. One extremely unfriendly woman from the front desk, a woman who has ALWAYS been unprofessional and downright rude to us, was cursing someone out in the hallways! What a strange atmosphere with a nasty employee, no power, very little lighting and no air-conditioning. We didn't say anything, just packed our bags and moved rooms in the dark heat.
Look at the photos of the room we moved into on the first floor! A bone (possibly chicken?), an old wire tie, strands of hair and sticky filth on the bathroom floor and walls. We cleaned it up ourselves, never said a thing.
My wife and I are seasoned travelers. We try to be friendly and happy when we're on the road. We can accept that these days, things are not what they were, or what they should be. But this hotel is unacceptable. Between the filth and the one particular nasty rude woman at the front desk, we have reached our limit. I want to point out that there are some great people working at the front desk here, but the one rude woman is unbelievable! We have plenty of other hotel choices in Annapolis, This Hilton Garden Inn is off our list for good.

Unbelievable! We booked a room with two queen size beds for four people for the Annapolis sailboat show weekend which we paid substantially for. We also let the hotel know ahead of time that we would be arriving late our first night. When we arrived, just before 1am, they gave us our room key only to find out we had a room with only one bed for four people!!! We were told that the General Manager Kristy had changed our room that day from two queens to one king bed without notifying anyone, not even us, and that no other rooms were available as the hotel was sold out for the event. After an hour of the employee working the desk calling the manager and attempting to find a roll away, we were able to get a cot and some extra linens (around 2am). However, we still had four people, so one person had to sleep on the floor for a room we paid over $300 per night for. We kept being told to just stay in our room and wait and were not able to speak to the General Manager Kristy at any point. We still have not been able to speak to her. Due to it being a room with only one bed, we also did not even have enough towels for everyone. We were given breakfast vouchers and told to speak with the Assistant General Manager Bernadette the following morning. When speaking to her, she was not only rude but did not offer any other compensation than the breakfast vouchers, stating that we were at least supplied with a cot for one of the people in our room and that only a suite was available however that too had only one bed. Come to find out they had an early check out supposedly and were going to be able to give us a room with two beds for our second night however we had to stay at the hotel and wait until the room was cleaned in order to switch over rooms ourselves before leaving for the boat show that day. This was completely unacceptable to not provide the room that was booked and paid for and expect four people to sleep in a room with one bed not to mention the lack of compensation for this major 'mistake' on the General Manager's part.

Dear T4082ILbethanys, First I would like to sincerely apologize for the issue you encountered during your stay. Your reservation had been made with only 1 adult in the room, which is why it had been changed to a room with a king bed. I have been unable to communicate with you as non of your personal information was on the reservation as it was booked through a group block. I have however been in contact with the coordinator for your block and have sent him an updated folio with a refund amount that has been processed onto your card for the issue you and your family went through on your first evening. Please free feel free to contact me at anytime to discuss further or to provide your email for an update folio. 410-266-9006 Once again I am truly sorry for the room switch and can guarantee it will not happen again.

Upon entering the hotel we noticed noone was wearing a mask except for the front desk clerk who checked us in. There were not any signs posted about masks are mandatory and in fact everyone we seen walking the hallways and even in the lobby did not have a mask on! This hotel does not have not one drink machine so if you get thirsty in the middle of the night you are forced to drive to the store! The drink machine in the pantry is out of order so i was told if i wanted a drink CVS was across the street!
We thought the room was very clean until we found dirty socks underneath the bed. Breakfast items and price are posted on the board but NO BREAKFAST WAS AVAILABLE! We had a 3 night reservation but we only stayed one night because we were disgusted at this point. Although i was given a credit for the remaining nights I am still not happy because it seems like no safety precautions were set in place. We will not be retuning to this property.

I don't believe they have a shuttle to downtown. There is bus service nearby. Annapolis bus service has routes and times posted on their website. You will probably have to drive to the bus stop. There are parking garages in downtown Annapolis. My recommendation is to drive downtown, park in the garage to avoid feeding the meters and walk to the Naval Academy. Lots to see along the way.
If a visitor would like to see a guest staying, there is no process or fee...typically we get your name, call the guest room and ask if they are alright with having you go to the room. We do not give out room numbers, so if you are visiting someone, they would have to tell you their room number first.
There are more places to choose from in the Parole area.
