Bed was very comfortable. Staff friendly. Stayed in a 1 bedroom 2 queen suite for 2 nights. Location and view of Lake Michigan was great. Overall just okay but disappointed with the quality of the room furniture. For a suite they could have added a comfortable chair or two for people to sit in addition to the "sofa". Instead, filled the room with 2 end tables, placed by the TV, with no purpose. The TV stand WAS a fireplace stand at one time, but the guts of the fireplace was missing and obvious. Sofa was in BAD shape, peeling vinyl and a large duct tape patch. Not okay for the suite price paid!! Very disappointing!
We stayed at this property because it is right on Lake Michigan. This made for some excellent evening and morning views of the sunset and sunrise. Plum beautiful! The rates were not out of line with the other chain in the area. The hotel was squeaky clean and sanitized. The room was spotless. We had Bayside rooms with our own parking.
My wife and I were looking for a quiet get away from the hustle and bustle of Minneapolis and busy schedules. We decided to take a 5-hour road trip to the small Upper Peninsula town of Menominee. We had our two small dogs with us and needed a hotel that would accommodate them. Since it was a couple's getaway it was nice to have options for room selection as well. Our pets were welcomed with open arms for a reasonable pet charge per night, and there was plenty of space to walk them around and even a small beach front to take them to. We chose a King Bed Suite with a jacuzzi tub which was not that much more than a regular King room or 2 Queen room which was great for us. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and we had no complaints. The breakfast was a continental breakfast buffet that had the standard offerings one would expect, cereal, heat up breakfast sandwiches, yogurt, bagels, etc. The staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean and quiet. There was plenty of parking and it was a quick walk or drive to anywhere we wanted to go. We had a great experience overall!…
Great budget hotel, where we’ve stayed several times. Very clean and quiet. Tasteful comfortable rooms. Excellent beds. Convenient to everything in Menominee, if that is not an oxymoron. Friendly helpful staff. We will definitely return
Very clean and comfortable. Would stay again. Room had a table with two 2 chairs. Nice if eating in. No carpet. Loved that! Out back was some picnic tables next to the bay to enjoy as well. Breakfast was good. Jimmy Dean sandwiches bread, bagels and good coffee.
We made reservations for the Econo Lodge in Menominee via ReservationDesk.com. The lady on the phone knew we had pets and gave us a price. We booked the room and paid for in with a credit card. When we got to the hotel, they saw that we had pets. They charged my credit card an additional fee and slipped the invoice / receipt under our door. Neither complaints to ReservationDesk.com or the hotel management were responded to. They told us that they would repsond in 48-72 hours and it has been over a week and have heard nothing. I would not recommend either ReservationDesk.com or Econo Lodge.
Sadly I was in town for three summer days of 50 degree weather, clouds and constant rain. I imagine it would have been a much better stay if I had seen sunshine! The front desk people were really nice. Probably some of the best staff I've encountered on any road trip. One appeared to be in training. My room was on the 2nd floor with no elevator which kind of sucked. The motel looks a bit run down and there are large trees so there’s not a real good view of the water from the 2nd floor. They do have a fairly large area to sit by the water and you can access the water on their small beach. When I was there they had the parking in back right next to the building blocked off. Not sure why. I like being able to see my car from my room when possible and have it close to load/unload items. Maybe they do that so people downstairs aren't disturbed by cars and have a view of the lake. If so, that's cool. Was able to open the window to listen to the waves which was nice. The big disappointment was there was no freezer area in the fridge so I had to keep my coolers filled with ice to keep my ice packs cold. I was doing a lot of driving each day and needed to keep my drinks/snacks cold. Large bed, large tv. Desk area was good and set up so I could work on my laptop and still see the tv. Didn't ever seem to be anything good on tv; however, I did have a good internet connection. No working electrical plugs in the bathroom. Water pressure was great. Slept well. Kept the fan on all night to drown out any excessive noise which worked well, but there didn't seem to be any noise. That is, except for the dogs. Woke up at 7:30AM to some guys with an annoying barking dog outside. Not sure if they worked there as they had work shirts on or were guests of the hotel. They hung out until after 9AM. Plus it sounded like the people next to me had a dog. Luckily that one was fairly quiet. Could have sworn I saw a sign at the lobby that said dogs were not allowed to be unattended in the room. Theirs was. This is why there should be no pet (which we all know just means dog) friendly hotels. Dog owners are too selfish to follow simple rules. I'm there to get some sleep. Not listen to incessant barking. With all the rain that room will likely smell like wet dog for quite some time. Gross. The area was pretty convenient but difficult to make a left turn out of the parking lot. The Perkins down the street also was not open 24 hours as advertised. They closed at 8PM and had LONG wait times. I suggest looking elsewhere to eat when staying here.…
Our view, out our first floor window, was beautiful Lake Michigan/Green Bay. THe housekeeping staff was right on top of any requests. The floor isn't carpeted, probably because they allow pets and it is so close to the lake, but we requested it to be mopped the second day, since we tracked in and it was sticky on my bare feet. The staff mopped it and gave us an extra bath mat to wipe our feet on, when we came in from the lake. I would definitely stay here again.
Location, location, location ! Right on the water. Clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly and accommodating staff. Special shout out to Kathy who offered her own car to jump our truck when our battery died. Updated floors and great breakfast options. Request a room in the back if you want to be steps from the water. Highly recommend
The staff both when we checked in and in the morning were FABULOUS. Super friendly and helpful. We walked to a nearby restaurant for take-out for dinner and ate at one of the picnic tables that is behind the hotel on their deck overlooking Green Bay. It was GORGEOUS. We watched the ducks and geese swim and enjoyed a nice, leisurely dinner. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately there was no coffee maker in our room, which was a surprise. (We live for our morning coffee!) But, the breakfast was good, not back at full force, it seemed, but better than some that are still only handing out granola bars and yogurt. We had seen on this site (as I recall) that there was a hot tub, but unless we are just totally blind, we did not see one on site.
