What a great experience here at this Econolodge. Aside from being affordable, the check in experience is unexcelled. and I speak from experience as my wife and I have made multiple cross country trips over the past 12 years. We crossed the UP (Upper Peninsula, Michigan) today and had booked this Econolodge while en route. The gentlemen checking us in, a brother in law of the owner, could not have been friendlier or more enthusiastic about explaining not only the features of the hotel, but the sites to see in the area. This Econolodge is located directly on US2, and across the street from the boardwalk on Lake Michigan which tonight offered a spectacular sunset view. But, I digress. The room is immaculate, and to our surprise, included a jacuzzi. The place is, in a word, spotless. One of the nicest places at any price we have stayed in over the past dozen years. We have stayed here before and have really liked this place. This time was no different. We had the same room again which is a 2-room suite with a kitchenette, wet bar, living room area and a king bedroom. It has a microwave and refrigerator but oddly no coffee pot in the room. We like that it conveniently located by the door and parking. The staff is always friendly and check in is always fast and efficient. There was a weird smell in the lobby though. The location of this hotel is convenient. Right on US2, next door to Big Boy, across the street from the Boardwalk and just a couple of blocks from downtown. Breakfast was just waffles, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. However, that is more than a lot of places are doing lately. An additional waffle maker would be helpful. Great place to stay. Clean, comfortable and convenient. Side note: At least in September…. Monday nights… there were no places to eat in town. Everything was closed. Very strange.…

Pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel! Rooms were very large and lots of extras (loveseat, desk, etc). Very quiet for being right on US2. Good breakfast, friendly staff, clean room. Only downside was the shower which started out with super hot water then went to cool water after a few minutes. But a great stay and I would recommend it for the price which was reasonable.

Really great staff. Flat hard beds (not much cushion). Overall quiet, clean room. Average breakfast with no warm items other than the standard waffle and oatmeal Hot tub appears to have been closed for awhile.

The place was really clean . The service was very good. Had a power outage for a little while but not a problem. The room was really nice. I’d have to say was my favorite place from my trip. It was across the street from the lake. A nice short walk to a beautiful beach.

This place is awesome! This is our 2nd year staying with 3 adults and 2 kids. Perfect location, management and staff are so friendly and welcoming. Awesome breakfast and amenities. We are here now and can't wait to come back!!

We stopped here overnight on our way from Detroit to Houghton. Super easy to find right on Hwy 2. Super friendly staff at check in got us right into our room. Room was very clean. Beds were comfortable. Tv worked fine. We left early the next morning so not much else to say. I could have walked across the road to walk along the city boardwalk along Lake Michigan if we'd had more time. The b reakfast buffet was the usual waffles, bagels, yogurt but nicely presented. Excellent value and just what we needed on this trip.

My wife, me, and two kids finished the cruise of pictured rock in the evening of the day, and we stayed in this motel since the Munising hotels were sold out. The staff was very friendly and considerate. The room was clean and well-maintained for its price. Will like to stay again if come to this area again. Overall it is an excellent place to sleep in the area

My husband and i spent our 55 anniversary there two nights, we were treated like a special couple. Breakfast was clean and very equate. We would go back again, the staff at the front desk was very kind, and enjoyable to work with.

This was my second stay at this wonderful place. The upgrades and updates are great. I loved that it was perfectly located for my travels across the Upper Peninsula. This lodge is located right across the road from Lake Michigan.
