Detailed Reviews
The Lodge is a little shop worn, but the management and help is superior. The toilets were made for little people, though (very small and low). The restaurant was excellent. The food was all homemade and really good; we had the soup twice and each was excellent; try the white bean chicken soup you will love it! Also, the Lodge has private access to Lake Michigan's beach, that can't be beat, with its great view.

We booked a month or 2 in advance, and while waiting to check in, they quoted a walk in, a price $40.00 less. That started things off a bit. Rooms are clean, and comfortable. Pool was very nice, as well as hot tub. Grounds are nicely kept. They did give us a cot for a child, which was at no additional cost.

Very clean room. Great shower. Thick towels.
Quiet even though it’s on US2. Beach is directly across the street. During this pandemic, the traffic is non-existent. Therefore crossing a major highway on foot was not a concern. During a regular season, I think it would be scary crossing a street when cars and trucks are traveling at a high speed.
Air conditioner was good enough. Never got too cold and we had it on full blast.
It was difficult to locate outlets. So in order to have coffee in the morning I had to plug the pot into an outlet in the bathroom.
If they can, management should look into lamps or something else so people can charge phones, etc.

We booked through Hotels.com for the stated rate. We were charged a higher rate by hotel. When we asked why were charged a higher rate, they stated that Hotels.com was not correct. The owner stated that I would receive a credit in a few days. No credit has been issued. Pass this hotel bye, they have shady business practices.

Hi Jeff, I remember going over the invoice with you and I explained you the situation. I took your word for it and also explained you that I will be calling Hotels.com to get an updated receipt for us so it can match the amount they quoted you for. As promised, refund was issued on our end, please check with your credit card company. If you still have an issue with it, please feel free to call us at the property telephone. I apologize if you felt I was shady during our conversation, but I was a clear as I could be. Thank you for staying with us and please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any other concerns.

This motel was not clean, the pool had a grime on it that was disgusting, the faucets were broken and cracking onto the sink, the towels were scratchy and hard, the bath tub was dirty, but the absolute worst part was the floor. It was absolutely FILTHY. Walking in socks merely across the room made our socks completely bLaCK on the bottom. It has obviously never been cleaned. The whole room smelled and it was dusty too. Don’t go here.
Like others said, the only redeeming quality was the restaurant next door and the beach was actually nice with sand when we went but it was across the road.

My sister and I took a road trip to the UP with our dogs. The hotel was clean, beds were comfortable. Our room reminded me of the 90’s, which I am fine with that because our room was clean and everything worked. The motel style rooms makes taking the dogs outside easy. They have a, laundry, vending, pool and hot tub available for guests. There’s a private beach for guests, but being it’s winter we didn’t go down to the beach.

Nice location, beach across the road, "high Speed" internet is a joke. We were close to office (2 rooms) and both computers couldn't connect. Told office and they acted like they couldn't do anything, and didn't. I told them I needed Internet for at least the 2nd night, and they failed.
Rooms were clean, restaurant was good.
Would stay again, if I don't need Internet for business connections.
Would have been a 4 for the area if they had been honest about internet.

Clean, friendly staff, good location, nice beach across the street with picnic tables and fire ring. Would stay again. It’s older but has what you need, and clean. Only thing I do not like is still using bedspreads and blankets. They immediately get folded down to the foot of the bed.

I really liked the experience that I had! Mandy was great! She helped us out so much. She is a very sweet person! She gave us a ride to get food because my was gone hunting with our vehicle. She is AWESOME! The rooms are nice an the beach across from the hotel is really nice. Not to far from the boardwalk a the light house. Will definitely be returning.
