The Manistique Lakeshore Campground is our 156th stop and we stayed for 7 nights. Located right on the shores of Lake Michigan (with some sites bordering the beach), it is a beautiful setting for a park with access to a sand beach. Colleen was awesome both with her pre-arrival help and quickly getting us checked in and she and other members of the staff were very kind to our pups. The interior roads of the park are paved/wide and the site has a wide concrete pad. The staff rakes the gravel patio prior to your arrival and you have a picnic table and very large fire ring. The utilities are set up nicely and you have strong water pressure. There is a decent distance between you and your neighbor with trees and native bushes/flowers as well. This looks like a fairly new park and is one of the best designed parks we have been to and did not skimp on their infrastructure. The bathrooms were very nice - modern and very clean. The only knock would be the laundry had only 2 washers and 2 dryers. Overall, would rate a 4.8. Connectivity (3:30 pm): Park WiFi 11.6 down/4.02 up; Verizon 10.3 down/2.4 up; T-Mobile 74.8 down/18.4 up. Also had access to 29 analog cable channels.

Camp here. Reception open until 8 and is right there as you drive in. But a big bundle of wood for $8 and head to your spot.
We paid $100 for three days with a tent. Excellent WiFi and electricity. Clean site. Fire pit with grate you swing over it. Picnic table. Plenty of room for camping chairs.
You can park right near your site.
Bathrooms are so clean, showers too. Single use, door locks with hot water. Single sink outdoors to wash dishes.
Playground is perfect with a pavilion nearby with picnic tables right by beach.
Eat at Dairy Kream and Cedar Street Cafe. Under priced and yummy!

This campground is the best in the UP I have ever been to and enters my top 10 if not 5! What beautiful views of Lake Michigan and several sites on the lake wonderfully maintained sites and comfort station! The tent sites are also very nice even though I did not stay in one! The sites on the lake side are awesome next time I will try for one I had a lake view across from them it was just wonderful! There is no pool but you have beach access to Lake Michigan! There is a play set for younger children fire pits and fire wood for sale! Awesome places to visit and a great grocery store on the other side of town! I could go on and on!

This is our favorite campground! Our 4th time here. Always we love the large full hook up sites, with being right on Lake Michigan or with views of it. The location is convenient to explore many beautiful sites within easy drivng distance. Staff maintain each camp site immaculately, with staff cleaning of each site between occupants. Can't wait to return!

Due to a family death and later heart attack it was necessary to cancel two reservations. My choice was to either get a refund excluding one night for a cancellation fee or to have them "bank" it for later use. I chose the latter both times. This is an unusual system since you receive no confirmation. Fortunately I was able to make a final reservation from the "banked" information; however, the rates went up and I was charged the extra fee. We camped in site 8 near the dunes and away from the lake. The sites are nicely kept although the water faucet leaked. The bathroom is very clean, heated, and overall the facilities are outstanding. Other than an unusual cancellation process, this is an excellent place to camp.

I left repeated messages with the campground staff as well as the Manistique City Manager requesting the courtesy of a return call to discuss the issue of my refund to no avail as the City Manager chose not return my call. I had to cancel this reservation due to a catastrophic medical issue which is preventing us from camping this year and perhaps permanently. Please note, the cancellation was 3 months in advance of the reserved date, which I know the campground will easily fill. We had a reservation for two nights, $65/night, and received a refund for only one night, which is a pretty steep cancellation fee.
I want others to know how the City of Manistique conducts business with people who may vacation in their area.

This campground is on the outskirts of Manistique and right on Lake Michigan. We could here the waves in our tent even though it was on the other side of the campground. Each camp spot was well manicured for some privacy but also would be easy to pull in to. Bathrooms and showers were in great condition. WiFi for the whole campground. We enjoyed our evening here. Probably the nicest campground I have ever been to. If your tent camping go for site P6.

The best CG we have stayed at to date. Most sites are back into and quite a few are on the waterfront and a few pull through. On the waterfront sites if you have enough length for your connections, you can pull in facing the water and have a fantastic view out your windshield. We backed in and listened to the waves coming in, really relaxing and no need for my sound machine. Very clean facilities and plenty of hot water.

We loved our stay here! Camp ground is right on Lake Michigan. The sites are nicely spaced so you have some privacy. Some sites are about 20 feet from the lake. The staff was friendly and helpful. The Flatiron Brewery is a short walk nearby and we loved the beer! We can’t wait to stay here again!

Very spacious camp sites, right on the water, with full hookups. Best location for a base camp for exploring the Upper Peninsula of Michigan—-easy road access to travel north, west, or east of Manistique. Helpful and friendly staff.

Really more on the edge of the city. We never heard any noise from the city which is actually a very small sort of quaint city. I think they roll up mainstreet around 5 pm. It is a great campground.
There are more places to choose from in the Manistique area.
