We stayed in a family suite in the Straights Lodge. The room itself was nice and clean. However, there were glass bottles, empty beer cans and cigarette butts sitting on the outside steps leading to our entrance all 3 days we were there. Surely housekeeping walked past at some point? If you stay, be prepared for lots of noise. Running kids and doors opening and closing started at 8 every morning so don’t plan to sleep in as there is very little soundproofing. We did enjoy the pool, mini golf and close proximity to town. For the price we paid, a breakfast would have been nice.

Hotel's Favorite
We have visited Mackinac Island for years and most of those stays have been at Mission Point Resort since they allow dogs. It never disappoints. The family suite was well worth the added expense since we have two teens traveling with us. (This was the first time we splurged on the room. So glad we did.) It is always so beautiful and love that the location is outside the hustle and bustle of downtown. Due to Covid, we rarely went into town this trip because it was a bit more crowded than we felt comfortable with. We felt safe at Mission Point.

Our family loves Mission Point! We spent five nights in July in a Family (King/Double/Double) Suite, which was perfect. We spent little time in the room, as the grounds are gorgeous and the resort has truly everything you need to enjoy the island (bikes to rent, chairs for lounging, a fun pool space, two great restaurants and a wonderful coffee/snack shop). Faithlynn at Boxwood was especially sweet! Try the smoothies for breakfast! Delicious! We'll be back next summer for our third family vacation at Mission Point - the best spot on the island!

My room was kept perfectly and the one problem I had was taken care of immediately! I liked the way it was organized and the ceiling fan. The staff gave many good suggestions of restaurants, and things to do for my son's baby girls. They also asked what our interests were to make them, ie. butterfly exhibit interesting for all ages.

My sisters and I return every summer. I am thinking this may be our fifteenth year or maybe longer. Why? Sitting in white chairs watching ships pass very close to the shore. Swimming in a refreshing pool when it is hot. Relaxing in a spectacular log lobby and playing games by cozy fireplaces. Hearing only the sound of the horses from our room. Being treated over the top by their staff. Again, Tamika and Shikera went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. Thank you to all who work there to make it a place of memories and relaxation. Hope we can come again next year!!!!!!
