We have stayed here a few times over many years but this will be our last. This place has so much potential but improvements and routine maintenance are lacking. There were so many things wrong I won't list them all but dirty, and outdated are just a few. There are many other choices in town that are a better value.
I waited until I got home to write this. I intend no malice in this review. While it is true the location is great, that is where the positives end. I arrived at four in the afternoon to check in and there were other people waiting as well. I got my key and went to my room. It seemed fine until I opened the bathroom where it was still in the condition it was left in by last nights guest. I went back to the clerk whom had left their post and was no where to be found. I waited, along with some other guests for over a half a hour and no clerk to be found. I talked to some cleaning staff who were nice but seemed a little frazzled. I told them my room number and let them know of my room and that I was going to leave for dinner and could they please see to my room. Two hours later I had returned to my room it was still in the same condition as I left it in. I took matters in to my own hands. I cleaned the bathroom and went to the housekeeping closet and restocked my own supplies. When I went to check out after two days, I went to the front desk office which was locked with a hand written sign stating drop your keys in the slot and goodbye. All this for $200 plus a night! I had to laugh to keep from crying! So, now you know. I hope they can improve I know the problems of running a small business. I'm pulling for you!…
location, location…what a shame to see this property so unkept. They are obviously having staffing or management issues. What a shame because the view here is beautiful but the hotel is in dire need of upkeep. Had we been able to get a refund, we would have checked out and left. They are still charging high end prices, even on a week night, for a very low budget experience. Pictures on website do not depict the conditions of hallways, rooms, carpet, patio furniture, or cleanliness, etc…
I was a bit nervous after reading some of the reviews, but Snyder’s was great. Older hotel that could use some updates. Room was clean and comfortable, with beautiful views of Lake Michigan. We enjoyed hanging out by the pool after dinner. Proximity to the beach is great, and close enough to walk to everything in downtown Ludington. Really enjoyed our stay.
I'm an old school type, so I liked this place. Cute on the outside and right by the public beach. Rooms are basic, which is fine by me. Bed was very comfortable and I had a first floor patio that overlooked the lake and the lighthouse. It's too bad that my neighbor couldn't be bothered to honor the No Smoking sign visibly posted on her patio. I was able to bike a couple blocks to House of Flavors for dinner. Yes, it is dated, but I'd still stay here again when back in Ludington
