Detailed Reviews
We had both a family suite and double room and both rooms were incredibly clean and well cared for. The owners will bend over backwards to assure you have everything you need. Traffic noise is minimal at night, and I say this as a very light sleeper. The kitchen suite was well-stocked with everything we needed from pots, pans and plates/utensils to foil, dish soap and kitchen towels. Outside, they provide a gas grill complete with utensils, and a large bin of toys for the little ones,--sand toys, bubbles, balls, and chalk. A hose is located on the side of the building to rinse the sand off your feet. Crossing the highway to the beach was not difficult and once you get there, you can't hear the road traffic. The beach is natural and beautiful. The bay is very shallow for a long way out. Manistique, with its lakeside boardwalk is about 10 minutes away, Pictured Rocks is about an hour away, Tahquamenon Upper Falls about 2 hours.

This is a great place to stay. They go above and beyond customer service. I recently stayed at the lodge. On the way there my car broke down 63 miles from the lodge. There were 5 in our party and AAA said that the tow truck driver would not be able to take all to the location, Mike drove to our location and picked up my family and took them to the lodge with stopping at a supermarket on the way. I traveled with the vehicle and when I arrived, Mike took a quick look at the vehicle and told me what was wrong. The next day I called to get the parts to fix my car and Mike drove me to the store and back twice and helped me repair the issue. They were very nice and understanding. The rooms were great. I would not hesitate to book another stay with them.

Very charming newly remodeled rooms, extremely clean and fully equipped with microwave, frig, coffee pot and a large screen tv and wifi. It is a 3 minute walk out your front door to a beautiful sandy beach on Lake Michigan, complete with chairs and picnic tables. Great for families and couples. Ania was very helpful with ideas for meals and a small family restaurant was right next door. Another popular stop was the food truck in Garden, which had deep fried whitefish and chips.
Normally a 3 day stay is required, but we were able to fill in an opening for one night. You could easily spend 3 days in the area exploring all the beauty of the UP.

I spent one week at the Moose Resort in July. I found my room very clean and comfortable. Their property along the lake front was a real advantage to staying there. You do have to cross the road to access the lake front but found that not to be any trouble' The owners were very nice and accomadating and I hightly recommend.

Did not expect such a great, updated motel! The owners are wonderful, go above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Stayed there while on a fishing trip to Fairport. We were able to plug our boat in to charge the batteries of the Minn Kota, also has a fish cleaning station.

What a cute, clean and special place to stay!! I haven’t stayed in a motel since I was a little girl, and the Moose Resort makes me want to think of reasons to come back over and over again!! Katie greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our pristine room #1. We were able to enjoy a glass of wine in the lawn overlooking Lake Michigan at sunset and relax back in our room choosing from an array of movies off Direct TV. The beds were super comfortable which equated to a wonderful night’s sleep. We even woke early to enjoy the sky changing colors while we enjoyed a cup of coffee in our kitchenette! It was a PERFECT getaway….. ❤️

This is not our first time staying here and it won’t be our last. Every room is like you walked into your own little cabin. Tastefully decorated and never that hotel/motel vibe. Across the road is the beach and lake plus some spectacular views. The owners are some of the nicest people and take great pride in this motel. I could go on and on why to stay here trust me book a room here.

Second consecutive summer spending time at the fully remodeled motel. Wonderfully located near many Upper Peninsula attractions. The new owners are A+++ when it comes to customer satisfaction and service. I highly recommend

Hi there,
Well it is Highway US 2 a 2 lane highway speed limit 65 ,
The Highway can get busy in the summer as it is the main east west southern corridor in the Upper Peninsula.
Although at night it calms quite nicely as people settle in to their destinations.
Our facility was built in 1951 originally as a log structure over time there were some major remodeling and of course our current major remodeling, The effect of additional drywall and insulation added a pretty good benefit to noise reduction the thick walls between rooms (most are 8" inch thick or more) create a great barrier for room to room sound transmission.
The sounds of the highway are mitigated nicely but you will hear a truck or loud Harley from time to time, they will be quite muted but it is the nature of the facility considering the proximity to the road. Overall If you have stayed at off the road motels and hotels before, we think you will be pleasantly surprised with our rooms sound quality. As others have commented on.
Even as every room has a panoramic view of Big Bay, We have such an inviting lakefront across the road, I would most definitely think you would want to get over there. As far as "how safe it is to cross?" We do have a sweeping view left and right on the road, And we encourage people to take their time and just be aware, It is a 2 lane highway speed limit 65.
With the crossing in mind we provide a portable toilet changing room every summer on the lakeside to reduce the number of crossing's for families enjoying the beach / park area.
We do ask that people accompany the little ones.
To give a better understanding of our proximity to the highway and help with your questions , you can look at our drone video on our website and that may help.
If there is anything else we can help with please don't hesitate to ask.
Chris
