The only reason to stay at this motel/ hotel is for the view!! Our room was not clean; the floor was dirty and one of the beds had SAND in it and appeared to have been slept in! Didn’t realize that until the morning. And very perturbing was a group of a dozen people who sat in a circle, right outside our room, talking and laughing loudly until 2 am! And breakfast is included? It is just continental, not in any way substantial. Yes, the view is special, but nothing else!!.

We selected Pilgrim Sands on Long Beach in Plymouth. It was right on the water. We got the last room available for the holiday weekend. There was an outdoor pool but we never got to it. It looked nice. Families seemed to enjoy it. We had a second story room with a balcony. It overlooked a marsh, where we were able to watch ospreys, swans, blue herons, geese and redwing blackbirds. While I would have loved the ocean view side, if you ignored the road and the parking lot, this water view was also nice. At the other side of the building, there was an area with tables, chairs and lounge chairs that looked out over the ocean. The beach below was covered at high tide, but visible most of the time. It had a lovely sunrise view. Inside, there was an indoor pool and hot tub. This would be a great spot for families. We did use them both once. The hot tub only had 4 back jets and one foot jet. The pool was a little chilly. There was the Sandcastle Lounge at the hotel with a bar and full menu. This was more of a CON than a PRO in my book. The loud music began in the afternoon, and made it impossible to sit out and enjoy quiet ocean views in the afternoon and evening. It was very loud. Thankfully we did not hear it from our room. We did not eat there. Overall, the hotel was fairly clean and well located. It wasn’t the Hilton, but it wasn’t Motel 6 either, maybe a step above. The decor was kind of beach kitsch, like they shopped at Christmas Tree Shop. It was a short drive to the Mayflower and busy waterfront area, which made it easy to navigate. It was hard to know when to expect cleaning. Morning 1 we didn't need it, and just got shampoo from the front desk. Morning 2, despite the fact we had a door hanger for maid service, our room was missed for cleaning on morning 2. We left at 10:30 when they were cleaning rooms on each side of us, so didn't think we needed to make a request beyond the door hanger. When I called at 2:30, they said the maids had all left. They brought me towels, and apologized. They were very good about getting someone there at 9 AM the next morning. We stayed 4 nights, so it would be nice if it was a little more reliable about when to expect cleaning so you could plan to leave the room. The front desk staff was helpful and polite. A decent value for waterfront property. New lines needed in parking lot. Many people were not parking inside the lines. Thankfully I was able to find parking but it was pretty full. Checkout was as simple as dropping the key in a basket.

This is almost a dive motel about two miles south of Plymouth. Our stay cost about $100 but it's not worth that much. It's a $40 motel at best. Our room was okay but run down: clean floor but dirty walls, a sink that backed up, and thin, worn blankets. The guy at the front desk didn't seem to speak a lot of English, didn't make eye contact, and appeared to be having a bad day. The internet didn't work for a long time and then went in and out - the wifi signal was barely detectible, even though our room was almost directly over the lobby. This was the least expensive option in an expensive town, that's why we stayed here. But it's hard to give the Pilgrim Sands much of a recommendation.

A bit disappointed in this stay. Beautiful ocean view - but kind of ends there. No continental breakfast as website states. Pool heater broken and pool room freezing. All common areas are as cold as the outside. Front desk guy is great at telling you he knows nothing and there is no one to ask. Fire place is broken - would be nice this time of year and would add nice ambiance. Probably a decent place to stay in the summer - but not on the off season.

Although the amenities listed online made the property look like a bargain, it was not ideal. The pool was closed, there was no continental breakfast, the bar was small, and the entire lobby smelled smoke and weed. There is not even a vending machine on-site, and we had to drive back into town to go to a gas station for bottled water. The room was dirty. It looked like the room might have been out of use for some time due to dust and the fact there were coffee stains on the table and blinds to the curtain in the room. We cut our stay short. We didn't ask for a discount or refund due to knowing about the cancellation policy before booking. We can't recommend this place for a stay—Escpailly during the busy season. The room wasn't worth it when it was less than $100, and it is not worth it when it's over $300 come summertime.

We had a very good stay here. This hotel had suffered quite a bit of damage less than 1 month earlier from a n'oreaster. It was built in 1969 in the style of a motor lodge; if you are looking for a Hilton Inn experience you may be disappointed. But the bedlinens, towels and bathrooms are clean and beds were comfortable. The breakfast included offers bagels, toast, cereal, juice, hard boiled eggs and danish. Juice, coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Waffle maker from which you can make your own delicious waffle. We are particular about our coffee in the morning so we brought our own travel coffee maker and k cups. It was a fine breakfast to get you started in the morning. The hotel has a lovely small indoor pool. Looked sparkling clean. We had family adjoining rooms with a small kitchenette. Worked great for making sandwiches and snacks. The hotel has a lounge called the Sandcastle featuring live music many nights and we ended our evenings there enjoying it with drinks and bar food. All very good and the servers and crowd were friendly and welcoming. The hotel is super convenient to all Plymouth attractions...just make a right out of the driveway and you do not have far to go at all. It is situated directly on the water with beautiful views. Again, it is dated and needs refurbishments which they are working on, but it worked out great for us at a good price.

While this isn’t a 4 star resort by a long shot, it is special for what it is, not what it is not. It is a family friendly motel right on a beautiful beach close to Plymouth MA. If you are looking for deluxe linens and spotless rooms, probably not for you. Beds are comfortable and a little sand from the beach you are on never hurt anyone. Check in gal was friendly. We were surprised and delighted by live music in the restaurant and good Jamaican food. The Manhattans were massive and tasty. The music was appealing to the older crowd in attendance and perfectly timed, 6:30 pm- 9:30. Clearly they are trying to spruce the place up and some decor was more up to date than others. I could have lived without the second amendment plaques in every room, hung along with beachy sayings plaques. A bit incongruous but hey, so are the times. There was a sturdy metal stairway down to the beach so easy to get your toes in the sand. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi along with an outdoor pool, all nice and clean. Not sure why the terrible reviews, guess there are are crabs on land as well as in the sea. Here’s to smooth sailing.

We have been staying in the same room at this motel for 40 plus years. This year the cost was $300 a night for this same room. The floors were dirty my wife had to clean the dust off of ever piece of furniture as well as do a deep clean in the bathroom. FREE BREAKFAST what a joke. The first day I rose early and went for coffee, the breakfast item seemed full at 7:00 am. The next day I didn't go to breakfast until 7:55 am, nothing left and no one to refill the buffet. The towels were like drying with sandpaper. HORRIBLE!!!! The general areas were dirty, not much better than the room. Spoke with 2 out regulars who share my opinion, NEVER AGAIN. What a shame. LITTLE OR NO COVID PRECAUSIONS IN PLACE.

Decent for the price. Location is outstanding, too bad the tides didn’t work with us for the timing we had for the beach. Room gives you what you pay for, nothing special but can’t complain. Decent breakfast, again nothing special but a good spread. Great pool for my kids. I would come back to this hotel in the future, just know you are not paying 400 a night which is fine for what we needed!

I booked a room MONTHS in advance. I had stayed here in 2012 and explained that I wanted a balcony room waterfront, just like our previous stay. Came to check in around 5 p.m. and the room did not have a balcony and it was a DUMP. Was told I could refuse the room within the first 15 minutes, but had tickets for Mayflower II in morning and was worried that I wouldn't find another room in Plymouth area at the height of tourist season. The room felt moldy and dank. Dirty and extremely run down. The shower looked filthy and so we went without showers. This is ridiculous for the amount they charge. Their location is perfect.... a shame it has been ran into the ground and is so unkept. An awful experience. Never again.
