This B&B is a fantastic place to get away with your pet in comfort. The owner Bill is very welcoming and knowledgeable. The staff were all extremely friendly. Went out for breakfast most of the time so just had coffee in the morning. Great accommodations and funky/eclectic decor. Located apprx 1 mile from downtown/ main st. The only issue I had was some of the room doors just had a hook/latch lock. So a more ample lock to feel that your pet could be more secured would be nice. But very safe and you are in the country so it is quite mellow and worry free. Would definitely go back.
Cannot speak too highly of the owner, Bill, who looked after us for 3 nights. Lots to see and do in Cape Cod, and he knows it all. Probably need another 2 nights to fit it all in. The Homestead is a relaxing place to be. Will come again one day. Hugh and Ann. Sittingbourne UK.
If you are a real car guy or gal, do not miss the Toad Hall Sports Car Collection. The admission is well worth the price to see such a complete collection of British sports cars. My wife and I spent nearly 2 hrs looking, reading the historic description displayed on each and even (carefully) sat in the drivers seat of a couple. While the collection and facilities themselves are not so much museum quality, (Yes it's a little musty, and smells like... get ready for this... a lot of really old cars), it does not diminish the significance of this collection. You'll never see anything like it.
My husband and I came down to the Cape in order to participate in a fundraiser with friends. We stayed here the night before and night after so the whole experience was very relaxing. The breakfasts were delicicious and I got to sleep in a canopy bed which was something I really loved! We can't wait ro come back for another stay!
I purchased a night at the Simmons Homestead Inn on Cape Cod Daily deal for my husband's birthday. Bill (the innkeeper) immediately contacted me to make sure everything was taken care of. It is definitely not your typical 'hotel', it is every bit as quirky and charming as the owner himself. We really enjoyed ourselves. Everyone there could not have been more helpful and considerate. We were given a choice of rooms, and as much information about the local area as we needed. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the car museum, and I enjoyed meeting all of Bill's 20 cats! It's probably not for everyone, but particularly pet owners/lovers and those looking for something very unique will enjoy it. I would say, though, that if you have very young or very active children, look at the…
The Simmons Homestead Inn is a homey warm and unique bed and breakfast that will not leave you disappointed. We have a blind dog so she has to travel with us. The Homestead is by far the best place we have ever stayed with our pooch. Bill the inn keeper is as warm and unique as the buildings surroundings. We stayed off season and he still found lots of stuff for us to do. We never once felt uncomfortable because we had a dog with us. Can't wait to visit agsin!
Very easy to get to. Comfortable, welcoming and charming surroundings as well as a cheery and charming host. 3 or 4 minutes ride from the best restaurants in Hyannis. Exceedingly pet friendly with a huge backyard where you can walk your animals. We would return for certain.
Bill couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming! He even made phone calls to locate a pet friendly restaurant in town for me and really seemed like he appreciated that I chose his inn. Super nice guy and yummy breakfast. I'll definitely be back :)
Simmons Homestead Inn was a very welcoming and cozy bed and breakfast. The staff was engaging and friendly and incredibly helpful guiding my wife and i on our first trip to Cape Cod. We're already thinking about when we can return with our family to share the experience with them.
If you don't want the conventional cookie-cutter hotel experience, this is a great place to stay. Bill Putnam is well informed about the area, and has plenty of helpful handouts. He also makes a good breakfast. Large yard, fine old car collection, big yard with outdoor seating and hammocks, quiet street, friendly guests, pleasantly crooked old inn, lots of personality and character in the furnishings and decoration. --Marly
