Didn't expect much, but was really impressed on the whole, especially as this was one of the cheapest Hilton hotels in the DC Metropolitan Area. Rooms are large, spotless, and housekeeping even made flowers out of tissues etc.
Limited but tasty buffet breakfast was $20. Plenty to fill your plate, and eggs to order. Bar/restaurant was good (Brownie Sundae was fantastic) though doesn't serve lunch. Convenient mini mart in lobby too.
Hilton Honors Gold is recognised from the start with a $15 daily allowance, much more generous than Marriott equivalent. The room TV greeted me as a Gold Member which was a nice touch too. Late check out of a couple hours was also possible.
Overall a great hotel with awesome staff in a good location, not too far away from either IAD or DC itself.
And of course a delicious DoubleTree cookie (nut-free available) is offered at check in, with staff happy to provide more on request!

I usually stay at the Doubletree for the quality of their coffee. Not only was the coffee in the room bad, this location did not offer a free coffee station in the lobby as most hotels do. I tried to have dinner in the restaurant one night and sat for 25 minutes without getting served. Went up to my room and tried back a half hour later and again could not get service I gave up again and went without dinner because I had to meet someone. Also the grout in the bathrooms was pretty grungy

A couple of blocks away from Silver Spring Metro Station, this new hotel is close to Silver Spring downtown with lots of restaurants and shops. The hotel is new but has some construction problems: only two lifts are working (which makes for some extra waiting time), the lift button is at the far right, normally one would expect one in between each lift door; rooms are large, but the bathroom is very small, because of a small hall that is totally useless. Breakfast is just ok: cereals, fruit, bread, some hot stuff, but no cold cuts e.g. Positive points: there is a microwave near the ice machine on each floor; the pool is about 12 m long and curved, towels are supplied. On Sunday there was even a lifeguard. But pool hours are only from 11 am to 8 pm, if I remember well. Staff at the lobby and the breakfast are friendly. There is a Wallgreens next door and further down there are restaurants, shops and a small mall. The neighbourhood seems safe.

Stayed at the Doubletree for 4 nights, personal visit. Pleased overall. Room had two double beds, TV, refrigerator and coffee maker. Clean. Temperature control easy and efficient. Was on the 7th floor. Quiet, despite construction on floors 13 and 14 and outside. Bathroom pretty much standard, on the small side. Weak shower. Standard amenities.
Beds comfortable. No room service unless requested but fresh towels provided, anytime. WiFi and Internet service worked well and was free to Hilton Honors customers. Breakfast buffet was, hot and cold, good but nothing special. Did, on one morning order, off the menu and that food one cut above.
The gym had recently been remodeled. Equipment was ample enough and in good repair. One quibble was the hotel’s failure, despite two requests, to replenish disinfectant wipes.
Parking at the hotel is not free. There is a relatively inexpensive public parking lot that is only a 4-5 minute walk away. Parking there is free on weekends. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel and a Whole Foods, if you are inclined to acquire take-out food, is in the same shopping and eatery area.
Personnel were invariably friendly, helpful and motivated to please. I would particularly commend Ms. LaCora Taylor and Ms. Ethiopia for their affable and customer-friendly approach. In that way they enhanced our stay significantly.
My wife and I would stay at this facility again.

Omg, the bed was heaven, pillows were like clouds. Shout out to Myesha, Lisa, Daniel, Shawna, Temi and Bruce. These people and other staff were not only professional and friendly but they make sure that your visit is as welcoming and safe as going to Grandma. They are pet friendly with snacks and poop bags available. The cookies are good if you aren't allergic to nuts. Dog park areas as well as playgrounds. The heat in the room comes in handy for the early morning walks with your fur babies. Housekeeping always on point. It's nice to come back to your bed made, pillows fluffed. My dog Shadow and I will definitely miss this little slice of heaven. Being a long guest, I am glad there's food options (microwave works well) and did I mention their cookies are good if you aren't allergic to nuts? I highly recommend this hotel whether for business or anything. Five stars for me.

We stayed here this past weekend in hopes this would be a little nicer of an experience than the cheap hotels we usually stay at. We were only there for 2 nights but there's a lot of issues here, unfortunately. Apparently, its under new management and they're doing a lot of renovations, which is fine but it created a lot of issues. We were put on the 16th floor, great when the elevators don't take 10 minutes to get to the top when you're waiting. Our room AC didn't work at all, we were there the hottest weekend of the year with temps over 100. I have severe heat intolerance and am 6 months pregnant so heat is very dangerous for me. The room stayed at a minimum of 75 degrees with AC on full blast and set at 60. The AC never really kicked on, stayed on low and didn't seem to actually cool anything but seemed to be locked so you couldn't actually turn ac on but the thermostat made it seem like you could control it. I was miserable for the 2 days due to the heat. The other issue is the parking. If you are disabled or have a large van or SUV I recommend not staying here. I have a grand cherokee and had zero room in the basement where I was forced to park. Their garage was under construction I guess with large dumpsters blocking turns. The "top" level of the garage is fine for SUVs but it fills up VERY quick and you are forced to park in the basement where SUVs do not fit. They have 2 handicap spots for a 16 floor hotel which I cannot believe is legal with ADA. The people parked in them never seemed to leave since the spot was always taken. My biggest issue other than the heat was the fact they charged over $60 worth of fees for parking and random other stuff at check in. These fees were not mentioned on the website nor when I booked through Priceline and I had proof of my original booked price. They said parking (as bad as it is) is charged per day/per time you leave (I did not understand which). Parking should be free when there is literally zero other choice for where to park. Also, they charge $16 a person for a regular cold buffet breakfast downstairs which is the same FREE breakfast at literally every other hotel even cheap ones the breakfast is free. A cup of coffee was $4 and bottled water $3. Just insane. I understand this is a wealthy area, but when you're one of the only options to stay at you can't be charging people on top of their set price. Some people cannot afford this and we had no recourse to not be charged that amount and I couldn't walk somewhere for breakfast as I'm disabled. Our $80 a night hotel in Virginis that was just a crappy days inn was honestly 1000% better experience than this. I wasted a lot of money staying here unfortunately and don't have the ability to waste money.

We had a great experience! Our room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast had a good variety! I want to give a special shout-out to Elsa in the hotel restaurant. We saw her every morning of our stay and she really went above and beyond. Even though she was obviously busy, she always had a huge smile on her face, made sure we had everything we needed, and even re-wiped our baby’s highchair every morning to make sure it was extra clean. 10/10 staff. We had such a positive experience with everyone!

The restaurant and bar were excellent. Minas was super attentive and extremely detail oriented, and her manager Blanca helped her orchestrate the area to perfection in service. Highly recommend, and this is from a regular traveller, I know my hotels!

While I was in town to visit relatives in the area, I came across this as an option. When I looked at all the advantages of staying at this location, I made the choice. There have been several years since I’ve been in this area and so I was happily surprised to see where the location was, and all the other options that were available around for dining, necessities, just about anything. I thought that the room location in the quiet and comfort of that room were exceptional. I will recommend this to anyone visiting this area. Thank you.

Only 1 of 3 elevators worked (we were on the 16th floor). Waiting for elevator was sometimes 20 minutes. Handicap parking was used by anyone. Handicap sticker or other identification not required by Hotel. Hotel sundries shop did not have plastic utensils for purchased items. Staff would not allow customers to open cabinets to get creamer when out, and they would not open. Cabinets were unlocked. Room was not cleaned or restocked during stay
