Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
We stayed for a 5 night leisure trip. The hotel staff were all professional and accommodating. I liked that I could get extra towels as needed. The room was clean and not dated. The bathroom was up to date. There was a small chip in the tub, but not really an issue. The microwave had variable level settings not just presets which was great for cooking eggs and bacon. The fridge was missing railings for keeping things in the door, but that wasn't a major issue. The hotel is convenient to shopping, restaurants and National Harbor. We did not go to DC, but it is obviously close as well. We wanted to be close to Upper Marlboro and it was very convenient to our needs. We would stay again.

I only stayed here because my company booked it for me. Very Clean, very nice, pleasant atmosphere. But, no free internet ($16.95 for the night) and no continental breakfast, the buffet was awesome but expensive. I blame this on tbe location to D.C. for that price ($16.95) I would expect a completely organic and all natural food selection.

We came right before the quarantine. However, service was great! My family stayed 3 nightstand enjoyed every single day. The kids enjoyed the pool time which was open until 10pm. Although we declined room service every day, there was a bag of toiletries and towels left at the door for our convenience. We thought this was excellent! The complimentary breakfast was good as well. The only con we had was that we had plans on using the hotel shuttle to get us to the train but the shuttle was in the shop that day. However it worked out in the end because we ended up driving and because we drove we were able to get around DC and visit the zoo and museums before they shut down indefinitely. Kudos to the team for great service :)

I will give this hotel a 1 star. If you are looking to spend a pretty penny and unsanitary hotel do not come here you have to purchase everything the wifi was $10 an hour; $20 per day and $70 per week. The receptionist at the front desk was rude, me and my husband booked for 2 night stay and the morning of our second night we wanted to changed the bed sheets the receptionist claimed that housekeeping was gone for the day and they can not change the bed sheets unless you are staying a full 5 nights which is nasty and very unsanitary. So my husband asked for the bed sheets and we changed them ourselves. Breakfast is not FREE. And you could only swim in the pool for 30 mins per day that’s definitely not enough time and you have to give your body at least 10-15 mins just to warm up to the pool; this was my first time booking with double tree and my LAST!

+1
After a long day traveling across the country and then battling DC traffic I arrived at a hotel that was basically shut down. Management should really do a better job of informing guests that the restaurant will be closed during the stay. The app AND website both listed “on-site restaurants” among the amenities that would be available at the hotel. Had they been honest I could have at least stopped along the way instead of having to go back out after a long day of traveling. there is nothing walkable, by the way. Breakfast is available with a self-service “Super 8” type vibe for 15 dollars if you’re desperate or pressed for time. Aside from all this the hotel is pretty beat-up and there is not much attention to upkeep or cleanliness. On my floor, for example, there were bags of garbage and dirty linens strewn about for more than 24 hours which was just disgusting. I also noticed some interesting characters loitering around the parking lot which perhaps explains the reinforced steel plates installed on the guest rooms doors. I would avoid this place at all costs especially if traveling with children.

Moldy smelling room. Accused my children of lying about the pool. However, they are the liars because when we booked our rooms over 40 it was implied the pool was easily accessible. You have to make an appointment and you can only stay for 1 hour. In addition, we were advised our participants who stayed at either the Homewood or Doubletree should have no issue accessing the pool. It was all a lie.. the elevator stop working completely and I had to walk to the 6th floor.

Beware! They will not clean your room unless you’re staying three nights or more. They want you to take your dirty linen to them and you have to go to the front desk to get a bag of new linen and towels each day. Very disappointed Hilton. The rooms are old, outdated and musty. The carpet is filthy. Pass this by.

As I long time Hilton Honors member, I stay in their brands all the time, I really expected DoubleTree to be better than this.
My room was nice and extremely dusty and had bugs. Not the small ones either! The ones that fly and look nasty😕. Being there for the holidays made this even worse, since I pre-paid for the Room plus $50/day incidental charge, which I found out AFTER I checked in so an additional $300!
I wasn’t able to get another hotel, sadly. I definitely will not be staying here again, nor recommending this particular hotel to anyone!

Our room was neat, clean, and equipped as advertised. The AC kept us comfortable but it was too loud.
The hotel was normal for its price range.
Be aware:
Pool hours end at 8 pm.
Reservations for the pool are limited and required but it gets booked up.
Breakfast is $15 per person and the quality is like a breakfast buffet in other hotels in this price range.
The hotel is in an area that serves attendees at FedEx Field and at peak times the hotel, all nearby services, and parking could be overwhelmed.

For someone who spent hours on the road and actually needing a good night’s sleep, I was not happy with not being allowed a late check out knowing rooms were available. I asked for an extra 2 hours and was refused. Don’t think I’ll be staying here again. And as an honors member, where is the honor?
