When you turn into this property from the road, you may be met with a curb. For some reason the curb makes this big curve inwards and theres barely enough room for 2 cars to enter/exit at the same time. A car was exiting and was more in the middle of the driveway, so when I turned in, I hit the curb. ANyways, everything else was fine. Smooth and friendly check in. My room had this long hallway into the main area. The room has NO closet and NO hangers, so I couldn't hang up my dress shirt/slacks. The heat, no matter what temperature I set it at, went on and off a lot. COmputer hair was very adjustable, WiFi had good upload and download speed. Bed and pillows were comfy. Shower was nice and warm, but the drain was very slow to drain (I did report this when I checked out). The complimentary breakfast was nice, although they did not have turkey sausage as advertised. There are several food options and a Wal-Mart (non Supercenter) across the street. I'd stay here again, just watch out for the curb.

The Holiday Inn Express Washington DC - BW Parkway exceeded my expectations! The location is perfect for exploring DC, and the hotel offers clean, comfortable rooms with all the amenities you need. Breakfast was delicious and different every day! Martha greeted me personally every morning in the breakfast room. My room was an ADA room, didn't come with a closet or an area to hang my clothes but I managed with the hooks that were installed around the room

An OK hotel, nothing to really complain about, but nothing to get excited about either. It is a good distance from downtown DC, so bear that in mind when planning your visit. An Uber to downtown can take between 15 – 30 minutes, depending on the time of day. Plenty of free parking at the hotel.
We stayed in May, but the pool hadn’t reopened for the summer season. Breakfast was forgettable, but it served its purpose. There were plenty of shops within walking distance, but for a decent restaurant we had to travel further afield. Our room was at the end of the hallway, on the ground floor and, on our second night, there was quite a lot of noise from the stairway beside us, which made sleep difficult.
In summary, I’d have no issue booking again, but I’d prefer to stay somewhere closer to downtown.

After concluding our stay in the northeast area (Cape Cod and Bar Harbor), we continue our trip to Washington DC. After driving 10+ hours from Rockport/Maine, we arrived in this hotel property slightly before midnight. Check-in was easy and efficient and in less than 10 minutes, we entered our room which was located in the end of the hallway (room 101; corner unit).
I didn't really like the room since it was located next to the back entrance where we could hear the loud bang (of the steel door) when someone went in and out of the building. However, since the hotel was completely full that evening, we had no other choice. The next morning, the hotel was relocating us to another room (#401) and it was a lot quiet than the first one we stayed the night before.
The room was clean and well maintained. Breakfast in the morning is simple but good enough for us (OJ, cereals, sausages, waffles, fruits etc.). Their waffle machine is really cool (I enjoyed watching the whole process of making waffles). This hotel is also conveniently near the ramp of major freeways (Baltimore-Washington Pkwy) and there are tons of restaurants and shops nearby which made this hotel a good base to stay during our visit in the DC area.
Overall, we had a good stay in this hotel property (June 5~8, 2019). For this reason, I gave a 4 stars' rating for this particular establishment.

Our stay was the result of an 8th grade field trip. I served as an adult chaperone. One of the 15 rooms we booked had water issues with a related bad odor and was changed out by management. The 2nd issue was with a safe not functioning, which management was notified of at 0700. When our tour returned that evening at 2200, nothing had been done about the safe and the person at the front desk didn't know anything about it. The 3rd and most significant issue was that one of the student rooms, which had 4 young ladies sleeping in it, had trouble with the latch and locking system. We were told management would not be available until the following day, the hotel was sold out, and there's nothing the hotel could do, which resulted in very tired students and adults packing up all of their belongings and switching rooms amongst ourselves. All of these issues are clearly things the management knew about prior to selling the rooms to our group. Very dissapointing, unacceptable and surprising from a brand that is so well known.

The hotel has security and required a key card to enter the lobby as well as use the elevator so we felt very safe. We showed up pretty late and it was quick and easy to get checked in and to our room. Nice clean room no issues. The breakfast includes toast, bagels, sausage, and frittatas. There was also a pancake maker. It wasn’t anything outstanding, but it was perfect for our family. Would recommend and would stay here again.

Not sure how this hotel has so many positive reviews, almost makes me think that these people didn’t really stay here. Hotel and rooms are in desperate need of updating, dimly lit hallways and it’s not in a good area. Absolutely nothing in the immediate surrounding area in the way of food. Three males were sitting on the bench at the hotel entrance smoking what smelled like marijuana and I don’t think they were even staying there. I actually saw someone wheeling themselves down the birm of the highway in a wheelchair from the ready care that is next door while everyone was blowing their horns. Needless to say I was only in my room about two hours and I ended up booking the holiday inn national mall, which was really nice by the way and cost about $10 less. I’m loyal to IHG when I travel but this is by far the worst property I have seen and I really don’t have anything positive to say about this place.

This hotel is worn out, with shabby decor, and is marginally clean. The carpeting is dirty and it all feels shabby. I was told that I am being charged a security fee that will be returned to my account in 10 days. Never had that anywhere else! Worst Holiday Inn Express I have been in. They are usually very clean and fresh.

No, the shuttle will only take you to and pick you up from the closest station to the hotel which is New Carrolton (which from here you can ride it to Union Station) or any other location you need (restaurant, shopping, etc.) as long as it is within 5 miles from the hotel.
