Detailed Reviews
My family and I stayed at the eagles nest for 2 nights and just one full day. I must say my wife and I left feeling like the stayed had been longer. The serenity and total disconnect was exactly what city dwellers like ours selves needed. My kids absolutely loved staying in a real life tree house. The quality and craftsmanship of the house and decor was impeccable . This house you could tell was not cheaply constructed. This isn't your old run of the mill back yard tree house. It was filled with luxury amenities in a camping sense. From a small coffee maker, nice pots and pans, hot plate, dishes, a hot shower etc.. I mean some reviews I read were unreasonable in their complaints... I mean it is suppose to be camping for "God sakes"... technically your suppose to bring just about everything YOU would need for camping. Your definitely glamping in a good way with this beautiful tree home. The outside was great for kids looking for a good adventure. With wooden stick TPee's and lil bridges across mud puddles and plenty of places to hang a hammock. We also took the enchanted hike around the property which my kids loved spotting the hidden lil garden animals. We also found what looked to be baby bear prints along the trail. We definitely snapped pics of that. We made due with hot dogs over the fire and some dehydrated camping food from Walmart which was actually delicious. Walmart was only about a 25min drive to the Oakland area. We didn't have wifi but our phone worked find for the most part on the property off the property was another thing. We did take a quick 30 min drive to Swallow trail to see the waterfalls. Beautiful forest experience family friend just enough hike to make your body feel like you did something. Their were multiple picture worth streams and waterfall cascades. Also noteworthy visit less than 10 mins from the tree house is Monroe run vista overlooks. Get your camera ready because with a breath taking view of the forest below and clouds above you'll want to capture that amazing view to keep that memory forever. Needless to say when we pulled off to leave Ella's enchanted tree house my 3yr old cried and didn't want to leave and neither did we. We will be back as I promised her.

My hubby and I stayed in the Eagles Nest Treehouse from 12/10-12/13 and absolutely adored it. The area around the treehouse is truly magical and we loved every minute of it especially looking up at the stars at night while around the fire. The treehouse was very clean and cozy and was stocked with everything needed for cooking such as toaster oven, pots & pans, electric hot plate, toaster as well as a coffee maker which looked like it would work for k-cups as well. The Christmas decorations were so cute and we absolutely adored the little animals all around the house. Before we left, we took a walk on the treemendous trail and it was so much fun to see the little animals along the way.
This place truly is a gem. Can’t wait to come back and stay in the Gathering Tree & the Day Dreamer in the spring/summer. Thanks for providing a wonderful place for some much-needed relaxation during some very stressful times.

Ella’s Treehouses will now be a permanent yearly tradition in our family. How could it not be? Only an hour and a half from our home in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, this pristine, magical, cozy oasis gifted us a very quiet and restful weekend. We stayed in The Gathering Tree. Its construction and aesthetics are impeccable. I almost felt as though I were dreaming as we pulled up. Enchanted, magical, heavenly... no words can even do it justice. The house was clean and tidy. It was decorated like something out of a fairy tale. The loft gave the house so much character and our two little kids were just over the moon to sleep in its comfortable beds. The master bedroom has a door to a private little deck where we’d sit and listen to acorns fall while we had our coffee. I just fell in love with this place and I cannot wait to book it again. Thank you to the owners. You give your guests the gift of serenity and tranquillity by letting them stay in these tiny sanctuaries in the treetops!

My husband and I booked this as a last minute weekend get away. There was a cancellation posted on fb and we booked it. We took our son who is 16 with us. We stayed in The Crows Nest. It was decorated very woodsy, the steps were easy and wide enough to take all your luggage in and out. I’m not sure I would truly call these treehouses. They are more like cabins on stilts among the trees. Which is still very nice. I think our cabin was probably around 400sqf. My husband is 6’5” had no issues with height. It’s compact and I wouldn’t want any more than 3 people max. Several things I want to make note of .. we saw a salamander and toad on the property. Not one bird, squirrel, chipmunk nothing.. which was really strange to us. The other thing, just the things that make your stay awesome or just ordinary. No kurig, no picnic tables, no chair around the fire pit just logs to sit on, no board games or cards, no binoculars. There is absolutely no WiFi within a 15 mile radius. Which is fine because it was nice that we actually had great conversations with each other, but if you want to google map to go anywhere, forget it. We had to turn on our car and turn the music up just to have music around the campfire. We couldn’t find coffee or anything to eat within at least 15 miles. It was cool to get away and be in the woods, but I wouldn’t go back.

Hi Sandie, I’m sorry to hear that your stay was not what you had expected. The vast majority of our guests appreciate the solitude of the treehouses without the interference of WiFi. We offer a “suggested items to bring” section on the rental agreement to help ensure guests know what to expect and we believe that could have helped you further enjoy your stay. There is also a resource tab on our website to help you find several restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive. We strive for transparency in what we offer, so thank you for sharing and for staying at Ella’s Enchanted Treehouses!

We had a great experience when we actually stayed at the treehouse. It was fun to have the family out, and the cabins were very nice. However, after our stay, I was contacted saying that we would be charged additional fees because there was a couple flies in the cabin and a rock was displaced in the woods. The contract says that you'll be charged if you leave the cabin "excessively ditry". We left the beds unmade and left the towels were they asked us to. No detail was given on how the inside was excessively dirty, yet we were still charged. In my opinion, a vacation is supposed to be where you relax. I don't want to go somewhere where I have to worry about additional fees for the kids opening a door to go outside to play or moving a rock. I've been to nicer places that don't expect me to sweep and mop the floors before I leave. That's what I pay a cleaning charge for. We will not be returning.

Hi Valerie, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay but your review is a little misleading. In the two and a half years that we have been open, we have only had to charge one other guest. It is not a common practice for us to have to do so. The reason we did charge an additional cleaning fee was clearly stated in the email that you received and was a direct result of having 10 people in a unit that (per your signed rental agreement) is only approved for 6 people. Should you feel the need to address the issue farther, you are welcome to email us at any time. Best Wishes

We booked Ellas Enchanted Treehouses in November of 2021 after stumbling upon an advertisement on facebook. Our stay was set for the weekend before Valentines day so we had about 3 months between booking our stay and the actual vacation. In those 3 months, we dreamed about the trip and had so many expectations. Let me say, the Gathering Tree exceeded our expectations! It was the most magical trip we have ever taken as a couple. I have always considered myself to be a city girl but I found myself having more fun on this trip than ive ever had visiting big cities. The feeling you get when you allow yourself to be unplugged and relaxed in these luxury treehouses is like no other.
We booked the weekend with hopes to have snow, so I was so happy to arrive to the treehouse and see the ground was still coated in snow from the previous week. It got even better when it began to snow again on our final night, watching the snowfall from where I was laying in bed was beautiful. It was so nice to wake up the next morning and see all of the trees and ground covered. It is an expectation that if it snows you will sweep the deck and stairs to prevent it from freezing. This is something we were prepared to do, however, someone came and shoveled and plowed for us before we got outside! That took some stress off of us before we had to leave which was great.
Although we planned

My mother, godmother and I spent a long weekend at the Eagles Nest treehouse in early January. We arrived during a snowstorm and the coziness of the treehouse while the snow fell was perfect! The home was emaculant - couldn't find a spec of dirt, the decor was beautiful and everything felt so peaceful and warm. I haven't stopped thinking about the entire experience since we left and am already planning another visit for the spring. Shops, bars and restaurants are close by in Deep Creek along with plenty of skiing and tubing for adults and kids. You can also make a 45 minute drive to Le Sale (spelling?) if you want a few more options for shopping/eating and a small mall. Movies in Deep Creek as well! But, you may not need any of that at all - enjoying quiet time and the scenery at the treehouse is really the best part! The home had everything you need from the kitchen to the bath to the living area to the bedroom/loft. The stay was truly one of the best I've had in years, maybe ever. A unique and valuable trip for anyone needing to get back to the basics, spending time with your loved ones, relaxing and enjoying the company of their favorite people. Excited to try this in warmer weather where we can utilize the outdoor fire pit, swing, hiking trails, kid tree forts, porch and nearby horseback riding. Highly recommend!

We surprised our 3 kids with this and we all loved it! The Gathering Tree was cozy and a perfect place to unplug for the weekend. The kids loved the spiral staircase up to the loft where they slept. The kitchen was funtional and adequate. We did most of our 'cooking' over the firepit...making smores and mountain pies. We also had a crockpot meal. There is a small fridge/freezer in the kitchen, so taking ice/cooler(s) is a good idea. A couple tips if you plan to spend time out at the firepit - take a folding table and some flash lights/lanterns/head lamps to help make things a bit easier. During the daylight hours, the kids got creative and LOVED building a 'forest fort' next to the treehouse and we did the nature hike around the property. We also drove about 25 mins to Swallow Falls for some hiking.
There was 1 minor issue we came across at the treehouse which I notified the owners about. They promptly and professionally responded to me and handled the issue seamlessly. There was no disruption to our stay at all.
If you are looking for a simple, relaxing place to getaway - book one of these treehouses!

Ella’s enchanted tree houses were absolutely amazing! Think of the HGTV show Treehouse Masters and you will have the pictures of these beautifully constructed, well appointed and perfectly relaxing places 25 feet up into the tree canopy. About 20 minutes outside of civilization the treehouse’s are a beautiful getaway! We had two good dinners at the Moon Shadow café and Firewater on the Deep Creek lake. The “cottage” was pretty big and had the most comfortable beds, and a great kitchen/sitting area. It was very, very clean. But the real treat were the hikes we took each morning at nearby State Parks (Big Run State park and New Germany State Park). Firefly Cheese is made in Accident, Maryland just 15 minutes away (and they have a brand new retail operation with tasting room). If you haven’t had Firefly Cheese yet, you are missing out on the best cheese in America!
Highly recommend Ella’s Enchanted Treehouses (there are 3 now, but rumor is 4 more are in the works). They are all different and exceptional! We stayed in the Day Dreamer!
