JUST GO: to the Glen Cove Inn

The Glen Cove Inn is the sort of destination you’ve always been looking for but never could find. It is very close to the sights in Camden, Rockport and Rockland, without the bustle or higher prices centered in those towns.

We had four glorious nights in room 10 right next to the pool, which was completely quiet in spite of those noise words usually associated with “pool”. Our room had a big king bed with luxurious bedding, an intimate well-lit comfortable sitting area, a great AC, a little frig, a nice bath and parking right outside our room. Everything was level and WONDERFUL for those who have “climbing step challenges”!

The landscaping (roses, dogwoods, even wisteria) was breathtaking. There is a firepit for cooler evenings, or just the delight of sitting around something warm and welcoming in any season! There is a washer dryer designated for guests, and a trail perfect for those who have no ambulatory issues!

Breakfasts daily are muffins, fruits and yogurt, DEVINE waffles, protein in peeled chilled hard- boiled eggs, and Maine blueberries GALORE!

The host owners are sophisticated, low key and MARVELOUS: the kind of people you delight in meeting, knowing, and appreciating. Their own innate rhythm like a soft breeze off an inland lake seems to set the tone for guests who need their offering of rest! Laura, Rich, Andrew and Quinn set the tempo, and it was lovely and healing keeping it there!

Conversations at the outside breakfast area are hearty with guests and owners mingling with common respect and gratitude just to be able to be together again after the long Covid lockdown. Guests are from everywhere, but our Southern accents were not disrespected or questioned in the least!

Honestly, THIS IS the place if you need rest and rejuvenation. The nearby restaurants, Archers on the Pier, Waterfront in Camden, Ports of Italy and Claws for a very casual “hang out here” meal are easy drives and all in all great foods. I will say we went twice to Archers and I am still moaning over the scallops (ordered repeatedly!).

We even went on Sunday to West Rockport Baptist Church for an incredible time of worship and fellowship.

I am not quite sure if the Glen Cove Inn CHOSE all the neighboring restaurants and destinations for surrounding “color”, but please know Glen Cove is a colorful mountain top of its own. If you do nothing more than “park” there, you will be renewed!!!

When choreographed and well planned moments of quiet blend with moments of tastes, people and deep rest it becomes a place to recommend and share! And I do!

Just GO!

We have stayed here before and always liked it. The room was spacious and the balcony was a plus. The continental breakfast had lots of options and the staff was responsive if items ran short. The pool was clean although the bottom was slippery and could use attention/maintenance. The room was not cleaned daily but fresh towels were supplied immediately on request. The location is lovely and quiet.

This moderately priced motel was once again chosen to be our temporary home for 3 nights during on our recently concluded vacation to coastal Maine. The property is well maintained as was our individual unit. We were assigned unit #2 which featured a king size bed, flat screen TV and mini refrigerator. There also were decks, front and back with the latter overlooking a small lily pond. A continental breakfast is included in the rates which was more than adequate for our needs. Our unit was close to Route 1 though the nose was not a problem for us, but should be considered when requesting a specific room. The one downside is the shower was the smallest we have ever encountered.

We stayed here for one night during a trip throughout New England. This was the nicest room we had for the entire trip, which was a good thing because it ended up being a rest day. Camden and the whole area were completely fogged in so there was little sightseeing we could do. The location was lovely and quiet, the staff members were friendly, and the pool was inviting. Plus, the towels were actually soft and plush, unlike the sandpaper towels some hotels use. Continently breakfast was served on a pretty outdoor patio. We would stay here again!

My wife and I spent several days at Glen Cove Inn & Suites and can only say very positive things about it. The cottage like room we were in was nice and quiet, the room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The whole complex was whisper clean too! The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, especially the homemade scones and muffins - super good!! We can only say it was a wonderful, centrally located place to stay and we're so glad we were able to have stayed there. Don't hesitate a second about booking yourselves.

We had a long day of traveling, and we did not arrive at the hotel until after 9 PM. We received a very nice phone call stating that our keys would be found in a specific location as their lobby would be closed. We arrived in the dark and couldn’t see how cute the grounds were, so we were so pleasantly surprised in the morning to see how wonderful Glen Cove turned out to be! Our room was nicely appointed and I especially enjoyed the thick towels. We loved the impressive free breakfast! I would absolutely recommend this sweet hotel.

We had a wonderful experience last summer, it was probably the best place that we have ever stayed at. The service was first rate, it was quiet, clean, all the amenities that we could ask for. The breakfast was great, so many choices, and we appreciated having coffee and cold water available all day long. We also took advantage of the pool, very welcome after a long day.

We have booked a stay again this August. Here is hoping that given current circumstances we will be able to visit you again this summer. If we are unable to do so due to travel restrictions, rest assured that we will be back next year.

Thank you for all you do.

The front desk person was very kind and welcoming and trying her best to be a good host. The room was lovely and ample with a small kitchenette which was very helpful. The pool, while small, was really fun for the children.

This is our second time staying and, I will say, it is different with the new owners. Details that affected our comfort included keys not working, waiting a day for toilet paper and towels despite letting front desk know of our needs in the morning, not picking up trash left for pick-up on front porch, no proper size trash bags for kitchen trash. The food for breakfast has gone down and now includes bad pastry in cellophane packages. Lastly, the girls were checking under the bed to make sure they had not left anything and found someone's slipper suggesting that the room had not been vacuumed since the last guest. Each of these things are not a big deal but altogether indicate that the owner is not attending to their guests in the way that the previous owner had. I hope it improves as we really liked this place last year.

My sister and I stayed at the Glen Cove Inn for one night on our way up the coast of Maine at the beginning of October and it was wonderful!! I had never stayed in a motel before and to be honest I was a little leery of our decision to "embrace the Maine motels" but I loved this place. The room was big, very nicely decorated and the windows actually opened! Breakfast on the patio was wonderful and we thought it was such a nice touch that you could make your own waffle for breakfast. Although it was too cold to swim in the pool it was lovely. The firepit is beautiful and we walked on the path in the morning before breakfast. I would DEFINATELY stay there again and I will recommend it to anyone who expresses an interest in a trip to the Rockport area.

We had an excellent stay at the Glen Cove Inn. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are average in size but well appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was diverse and plentiful. Our trip was in September at the end of the summer season so the nights were cool enough to enjoy the fire pit where we were able to relax with a glass of wine and chat with people from all over the US. Rockport is located conveniently between Rockland and Camden, both of which are nice harbor towns and good places for a great meal, shopping, or just sitting and watching the boats in the harbor. Also a nice location for longer day trips to the small villages out on the many peninsulas.

My only complaint was that the WiFi signal was a bit weak in our room (#19). We lost the signal frequently and had a little trouble with our internet connection and streaming services. However, not a problem so big that it would keep us from coming back! We look forward to our next visait at the Glen Cove Inn.
