From 2016-2018, we camped at “Hid’n Pines Family Campground”. Originally starting off as tenters, we returned the next year in our airstream to do a six week spring deal which we did in 2017 and 18. After 2028, we made the difficult choice of becoming seasonal’s at a different campground in NH to be close to work and family. After two seasons at their campground we couldn’t take it anymore and knew we had to go back to Hid’n Pines. We came back as seasonal’s this time and are so glad we did! The campground is under new ownership by a company called “Sun RV Resorts” which has bought three other campgrounds in Old Orchard Beach and one in Saco. The narrow 8 foot pool which I believe wasn’t heated has been removed and replaced with a wide 6 foot heated pool. A hot tub and splash pad, which were not there before have been added to the pool area. There is an old, but in good condition basketball court which was always next to the playground which was always next to the playground. But this year there was a new playground! Also new this year was was movie nights, bands and a community fire pit! The campground is approximately a 1/4 mi to beach, but there is a trolley stop at the campground. Also new this year is cabins. Some things to at have stayed the same are having your own personal fire pit, the store (which was added a few years ago and replaced the game room) and WiFi. Being a seasonal was a different experience, but a successful one. I love our new fifth-wheel, we had a small yard space for our dog, we could fit a gazebo in the yard, had a driveway and a shed to store things. We made many friends during our stay and explored many new places with them. Location is perfect and near everything. We didn’t use the trolley this year, as we found everything was a short walk or car drive away. The seasonal party at the end of they year was the best with a food truck, cake and hilarious comedians. My only complaints are that the campground WiFi is really slow. We had to get are own modem to be able to use WiFi. Another complaint is at the beginning of the season. A kid a few sites up from us was running around the campground near our site watching us, screaming, scaring our dog and hitting our property. Thankfully this only happened one weekend and never again and did not ruin our time here. I can’t wait for next year!…
We really did enjoy our stay at this campground. It is true, the sites are extremely close together. I was kind of shocked at how close they are but we still enjoyed our stay. Thankfully our neighbors where all very nice. If you don't mind close quarters and children you will be fine. The pool was very nice with plenty of chairs. Water temperature was beautiful and it was hot! All staff that we encountered was very nice. Very quiet at night after 11 which is great! The only negative I have, and I am surprised as so many others commented on how clean the restrooms/shower where but I just can't agree. For one night, over night and again the next morning there were several stalls in ladies room with no toilet paper. The showers had lots and lots of hair in them each time I showered especially in the drains. Strongly suggest you were flip flops. The walls had hair on them as well. One stall had the same soap and plastic bag left in it the entire stay. My husband thought the men's restrooms were not very clean either. So that was disappointing. We would stay here again for sure. Next time if restrooms were the same, I would speak up and ask someone to address. But other than that, the campground itself was clean and fun. It is also in a great location.…
I recently stayed at hidn pines and had a great experience. The bathrooms were very clean and neat. The pool has a play area for the kids with water cannons and waterfall. My child loved it and didn't want to leave! Its very close to downtown and the beach! Also there's a grocery store half a mile down the road which was convenient. I would definitely stay again. The prices were reasonable with water and electric about 50$.
Where to begin? I will start by saying that this campground is your basic, run of the mill campground. Nothing special about it other than location. It is very sandy and my RV was constantly dirty. Upon our after hours arrival, the sites were difficult to locate in the dark. Our rig was a bit too large for the site they assigned us and they gave us incorrect directions to it. Coming from the opposite direction would have been easier to get the RV in the spot. These can all be issues we face other places as well from time to time, so, we overlooked them. We were there for the Independence Day holiday weekend, and there was large family/group reunion of some sort with approx 50 people from all around the campgorund. This group pf people were really loud, children purposely woudn't move off the roads when you were trying to drive through. Other campers complained to staff abut these folks walking through their site all the time and requested to move, but staff would not accommodate. They also have a stupid fire rule to get everyone to go inside at 11pm, their designated "QUIET TIME". Staff will begin their rounds at 10:30 reminding everyone to not add anymore firewood to their fires. They even had an outside security company come through at 11 and demand my husband and other campers, extinguish their fires immediately while he waited. He was very rude! Orchard Beach is beautiful, but I would choose a different campground! We will NEVER return to Hid'n Pines.…
Check in was efficient.. Staff was very friendly. Security was great. We stayed in a 24 foot motorhome. Reasonable rates for memorial day weekend. Weather prevented us from really enjoying all of the amenities. Sites were well maintained. Will definitely stay here again!
