My family of 5 (wife and I with 3 adult sons) stayed at the Blair Hill Inn for 3 nights in mid-August. We were coming to Moosehead Lake in the hopes of seeing moose and enjoying a beautiful region, and we are thrilled that we picked the Blair Hill Inn for our stay. The Inn is beautiful and is set on a hill overlooking the lake. Our rooms were very comfortable. My wife and I were in Room 2, with a king bed and small sitting area, and our three adult sons were in room 10, with a king and a twin (plus trundle), good sized sitting area, and a private courtyard. The beds, linens, and other appointments were all of very high quality and were very comfortable, and some beverages and snacks are provided as a complimentary amenity, which is nice. The common areas on the first floor are very nice, from the dining area where the breakfast (that is included in your stay) is served and that becomes Slate Restaurant in the evening, to the bar and the adjoining sitting room with comfortable seating and some tables. One day was quite rainy so our family spent a good bit of time in that common area and enjoyed playing some of the board games that are provided for guests. There are also taps of water where you can refill your water bottles with still or sparkling water.

Breakfast was very good - you get two entree choices (one egg and one pancakes/waffles/french toast) with other continental-style options available. We did enjoy dinner at Slate and while pricy, the meal was excellent and we highly recommend the experience. All the food and drinks we had were very good, including some excellent cocktails.

What really made our trip special was the service and particularly all the work that Jenn, the Inn's owner, put into organizing an itinerary for us that allowed us to make the most of our trip. When we were looking at places to stay and trying to figure out what we wanted to do in our time at Moosehead Lake, my wife reached out to the Blair Hill and Jenn was quick to offer to help us arrange an itinerary. We told her what we wanted to do, and she set up a fantastic itinerary for us: two moose safari trips, a bald eagle sighting tour, a seaplane experience (which sadly was cancelled due to the rain), and recommendations for hikes. All organized by her, and with food and snacks provided when we were doing activities early morning or in the evening. It was wonderful. And the trip was better planned than we could have managed on our own because of it. Jenn and her staff also went above and beyond as hosts during our stay to make everything comfortable and convenient.

In short we highly recommend the inn for the lodging and the food & drink experience on its own, but Jenn and her staff were what truly stood out. Thank you, Jenn!

We honeymooned at the Blair Hill Inn and our 5-night stay was a 5-star experience! It kicked off with a champagne greeting and a tour of the inn by the owner, Jenn. We stayed in room 5 which offered tons of natural light, a large soaking tub and views of the lake and hillside garden. Each morning we looked forward to the complimentary breakfast with rotating specials (the muffins and smoothies in the first course were such a treat!) and enjoyed a few great dinners at the Slate restaurant during the week as well. They offered great wine and bourbon selections and we loved the fresh baked cookies! My husband and I mentioned we were keen to hike. and after providing us with local recommendations including Mt Kineo and Little Moose Mountain, they arranged a picnic lunch complete with a cooler backpack, Yeti water bottles, trail mix and great deli sandwiches! The Pottery Barn bed linens and Matouk bath linens were so luxurious and coordinated perfectly with the decor throughout the rest of the Inn. The on-site spa was so nice we visited twice! The entire property was meticulously maintained with blooming flowers and manicured paths to guide you. Cherry on top was the incredibly warm staff which greeted us each time, remembering conversations we’d had and always went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Jenn is so kind and accommodating and was quick to point us in the right direction when we mentioned our strong desire to see a moose in the wild for the first time (we found one thanks to her!). We truly felt no stone was left unturned. We CANNOT wait to return for anniversary trips and spend more time as such a special place!

What a wonderful time we had at this Inn. Food and service were top notch and the location was perfect, sunsets overlooking Moosehead lake.

Breakfast was included in our room rate and we had dinner at Slate, the restaurant inside the Inn. There was a full service bar and coffee and tea was served all day. Wonderful to unwind on the porch after a day out and about.

An incredible luxury experience in the depths of Maine. From the warm welcome of the staff, fresh baked cookies and treats, champagne upon arrival and cocktails at sunset, we can't wait to go back. The inn is clean and well maintained, the daily breakfast with local ingredients and fresh squeezed orange juice, paired with an incredible view of Moosehead Lake. The Inn Keeper curated an exceptional itinerary with a lake tour, sunset experience, spa day, sea plane tour, and moose safari. Dinners at Slate Restaurant were delicious and full of flavor. We enjoyed all that the area has to offer and came back to a spacious and relaxing room each night. Highly recommended!

In July 2023, my family and I visited the Inn and were thoroughly delighted with our experience. From the connecting room on the 3rd floor to the stunning views from our room and the porch, everything was exceptional. The Relais and Chateaux chef prepared outstanding food, and the warm hospitality added to our enjoyment. The Thursday night performance by the band and the drinks at the bar were enjoyable as well. We saw several families as well as couples staying at the hotel. Additionally, the Inn's convenient location allowed us to easily explore Lily Bay State Park, surrounding ponds, and other parts of Moosehead Lake. This Inn surpassed all our expectations in every way.

Only giving 5 stars because there is no option to give more! We have dined here several times over the years and attended several special events here. Our out of town guests stay here and would never consider staying elsewhere. You come to Blair Hill Inn the first time for the legendary sunsets overlooking Moosehead Lake and the western mountains, you come back again and again for the impeccable service and world class dining experience.

The beautifully restored Inn is run by a couple who are always around and attentive. The staff is terrific and eager to help and make sure you have what you need. They pointed us in the right direction for a Moose Safari, private cruise on the lake and ATV ride in the backwoods. The food is extraordinary -- dinner and breakfast as good as you can get anywhere (the chef told us he previously worked at French Laundry). The difference is that here you eat while overlooking the lake and mountains beyond. The bartender also knows his way around.

Fabulous luxury inn in the most remote of places -- what a wonderful surprise! We are seasoned travelers and The Blair Hill Inn ranks among one of the most lovely places we've ever stayed. I say this having lost power one night (lights, air conditioning, and water!), due to a glitch in the electrical system (fixed first thing in the morning and all guests credited for the night). A place has to be pretty awesome for someone to say it's excellent, despite losing air conditioning (in a heat wave no less), and water. And it really is. It's all that. And more. Our room was luxurious without being stuffy, the in-room amenities are thoughtfully curated (snacks, baked goods, fresh water in a tall glass bottle, lovely products all around), and the innkeeper couldn't be more friendly or helpful. The same goes for the staff. The views of the lake are spectacular; I honestly can't say enough so I'll stop here. We'll be back because it's not just an inn, it's an experience.

The Inn gives guests a unique opportunity to immerse in nature, explore remote parts of the USA without sacrificing luxury accommodations, high-quality food and service. Jenn and her team make you feel well taken care of from start to finish. Jenn booked us various local experiences, made many recommendations and also packed us snacks, water, and breakfast. This included a packed breakfast in our fridge for the Moose Safari that began before sunrise, left without us asking. The Inn is truly beautiful and it’s a special place to stay.

There’s a wonderful hiking trail right on the property, a hot tub hidden in a forest with a lit walking path, that feels like taking a magical, nightly adventure. The view of Moosehead Lake is incredible and doesn’t lose its spectacular feel no matter how many times you look at it. The sunsets are stunning, the property inviting, and the Inn is charming. Highly recommend. The tasting menu is delicious and includes local food
and unique dishes. This far exceeds our experience with a tasting menu we had in NYC two weeks earlier. The breakfast was full of options, local ingredients that were hearty, delicious and not full of junk. My only small thing is wishing the brewed coffee was a bit bolder and stronger, but that may just be my personal preference and there is a Nespresso option for espresso.
Thank you to Jenn and her staff. We really enjoyed all parts of the stay. It’s no doubt a very special place that guests can only leave feeling so grateful and lucky for the experience.

First off, the food is absolutely spectacular and may be the best I've ever had in Maine- and I live in Portland. I would put it right next to some Michelin restaurants I've been to in both the US and Europe. It doesn't hurt to have jaw dropping views either- or if you happen to catch a good sunset, they're among the best I've seen on the east coast. Service is top notch.
Lastly, the rooms are a great size and the fit and finish is outstanding. I've stayed in rooms 10 and 1- both of which feel refined and perfectly outfitted for such an inn. Highly recommended!

Hi Miss Vee In our many previous stays at the very wonderful Blair Hill Inn, the restaurant has opened for guests and non-guests on Thursday,Friday and Saturday evenings in season. Which your dates are by the way. We suggest you reserve a table way ahead of time though. The 5 course dinner is superb and the setting overlooking Moosehead Lake is sublime. In the summer months the restaurant is usually fully booked as it truly is a wonderful experience . We hope this helps.

I like the idea of travelers being able to ask questions - my 'test' question was my attempt to see how this worked. It took me a bit to find where to ask a question so I was wondering if travelers would even see that they can ask questions now! Apparently, you two fine travelers, dear guests and now friends found it!!!
