Hello people I just wanted to drop a massive thank you to MR Deepak the reservations manager and his front desk team, the girls and boy ( ayushmaan) couldn’t be more helpful to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Being in self quarantine is not easy but the team at holiday inn made it a pleasant experience for me. The housekeeping and the in room Dining team genuinely seemed to care and wanted to help the in house guests and ensure the appetite needs are met along with cleanliness of their habitat.
The package offered for the 7 days was super reasonable as well and not extortionate either. All in, I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone. I hope this review some in handy to like minded travelers Keep up the good work Team holiday inn cochin ! Many thanks once again for your hospitality!

Holiday Inn Cochin has been a premier hotel offering a comfortable stay and excellent hospitality over the years . The rooms are well sanitised , prompt service by both housekeeping and in room dining . The front office staff exceeds all expectations & they display exemplary customer service . A big high five to Holiday Inn Cochin for their highly professional service & an endeavour to try and accommodate all requests for dining, laundry and room cleaning given the current pandemic circumstances. This coupled with thorough sanitization of the surroundings including bags,luggage etc at check in showcases the high standards kept at this property and amongst it's personnel.

I have been to Holiday inn for one single night , that was the first day after lock down ( or even during lock down) and I think I was the first guest to this hotel after the govt decision of opening hotels
It was not as smooth as it was earlier for obvious reason. All glitters and glamour are faded away. Rooms are with minimal but necessary amnesties.
Restaurants are closed everything is on IRD . Breakfast are limited but sufficient.
On arrival( since the main gate was closed we took the backyard gate) all the bags were disinfected and check in process was mostly digital , ID, all are taken ( my suggestion is that a scanner could reduce the physical contacts. ). Everything is self service unlike earlier times.
Overall it was safe and not uncomfortable

Staff and service was great, front office associates were extremely courteous especially Priyanka and Januka .It was a good experience with very able hands in kitchen. Would recommend it to solo and couple travelers.But definitely a fun place to stay for singles and couples. we had a wonderful mini-vacation! (13 days stay in Holiday Inn kochi )It was really delightful experience. We were deeply touched by your warmth and hospitality and enjoyed everything about our stay. Hygiene is well maintained. Room service and house keeping was excellent. Cleanig staffs are well groomed. Hotel's safety and sanitization standards are very high indeed and they really make sure that every guest that checks in matches their safety norms .
Best part was the fantastic food and excellent service at the restaurant .The restaurant crew's were very attentive, professional , pleasing and friendly . Especially Netilo, kaonai and Niepai. Their hospitality was awesome and it lived up to its reputation of being a best hotel. I wanted to send our sincere appreciation to chef Shihab and chef Aamir. You guys are fabulous and very professional .we loved your chicken stew , chicken with methi, soups , pan cakes,desserts etc etc. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation. We had an absolutely AMAZING time. And special thanks to chef Shihab. For treating us very special by serving your astounding TEAS and sharing your experiences.

After 2 years of house arrest due to Covid break, we made our fist vacation in August 2021. Travel destination was Chennithala in Alleppey (family visit), In the two and fro journey to avoid straight long drive decided to stay in a hotel in between to reduce single stretch drive. While going to Kerala I booked a different 5 star hotel but found it ridiculously substandard. On my return back to Bangalore, picked holiday inn for intermediate night stay (with least a expectation)and it surprised me with a positive experience.
I have experienced hotel stay in multiple hotels in the past domestically and internationally and found holiday in Kochi at par with other hotels in terms of quality of stay. I was quite impressed by the courteous service, cleanliness of room and professional approach of the staff, room service etc.
The day I picked this hotel I was on our wedding anniversary. I ordered a cake for giving a surprise for my wife after connecting with Januka (hotel staff). I was extremely impressed by the courteous and professional approach of Januka. The way she took care of booking, ensured, seem less checkin, follow up on the room comfort and even at midnight while being on off duty she ensured and confirmed with me that the cake was delivered on time. Sometimes these small things takes a long distance in winning customer heart. We are impressed.. Thank you Januka!!
I will be making frequent travel in this route, and I guess I will be choosing Holiday Inn as preferred place of stay in future aswell.
Things I liked in particular 1) Safe parking 2) smooth checkin 3) courteous staff at reception 4) Courteous dine in and room service 5) spacious room 6) Room hygiene 7) Economical for the facilities on offer
Only improvement which I may expect is better variety of food menu. This doesn’t mean it is bad, not at all. This is just an improvement suggestion when everything else was so perfect.

The room we stayed did not have a bath tub. Lu Lu mall is about 4.5 Kms from the hotel but the duration depends on the traffic so much more than the distance if you see what I mean! The best beach is probably around 20- 30 minutes from the hotel, I may be wrong here.
There is so much to see depending on what your likes and interests are. Fort Cochin offers a lot - the Chinese nets, the Dutch palace, the Jewish synagogue, the Jewish town, the Kathakali performances etc. All at least 30-40 minutes from the hotel I reckon. A ferry trip which the locals use to commute is also worth a ride. Hope this is useful.
Answering ur questions in three parts.
1. Yes there are lot of restaurants around Edappally (Holiday Inn location). What I do is I turn on the Trip Advisor app and search for restaurants in the locality. You can read reviews and ratings and choose the best. With the photos in the app, you can choose the right ambience and the right kind of food of your choice. And as rightly pointed out by other friends, Lulu mall has hell lot of options. Local eateries and Lulu mall food court are almost priced the same. I say almost because few of the food courts are expensive. A roti curry combo would cost you around 120-150Rs.
2. Since that is the prime city, rickshaws are readily available. But I would suggest you to take an Uber or Ola. They are cheap as an auto, maybe even more cheaper. They will pick u up within minutes. They dont charge return fares. You get a fare estimate as well. Also in Uber, you refer friends and you get 50Rs. for each. Use them for your ride.
3. If you are looking for a tour within the city, you have MG Road for shopping, Marine drive, Kaloor Stadium, Lulu mall. There are many other places as well but all are more or less the same. Then you have Fort Kochi, which is the old cochin. Lot of eateries with choice of different delicacies like French, Portuguese, Japanese, European dishes. Some locations with historic importance, some movie shooting locations, beach side view etc. This is Cochin. Others can add if I have missed out any location. It's going to cost you some money, if you choose a local cab option. If you want a person to explain you all these places, go for local cab which is expensive. If you just want to visit them, take an Uber or Ola for all these locations. Cheap and best option. Take Uber, go to a location. Roam around. Take next Uber.
