On the shore of the Firth of Forth, Queensferry is situated ten miles to the north of Edinburgh. So the Premier Inn Hotel Edinburgh (South Queensferry) is the ideal base for venturing into Scotland's first city, or for exploring the majestic landscape of the Lothians. Queensferry has some puzzling traditions, like the procession of the Burry Man and the annual dip in the Firth of Forth. But there are plenty of other things to do, such as a visit to the Georgian splendour of Hopetoun House or Dundas Castle. There are lots of business venues and good transport links. Once you're done for the day, come back to great food at our Brewers Fayre restaurant and a lovely comfy bed.

Gone dramatically downhill since our stay. Communal hallways carpets very old and stained in places, horrible smell to them. Lift out of order. Room was small double bed next to 2 singles but no room in between. No air conditioning so we were provided with complete waste of time electric one. Window was open but still room was really warm.the room was above air ducts/ air conditioning/extractor fans from restaurant below so we had to close at night because of noise. Also noise from carpark and road. We got no sleep because of the heat of the room it got hotter as night wore on. Bedding wasnt ironed but looked looked clean. Some mark's on walls and carpet looked abit grubby. It was supposed to be a restful night stay before our flight next morning but we were anything but well rested. Definitely wouldn't return.

Usually Premier Inn does what it says on the tin but this particular Premier Inn desperately needs a good clean and upgrade. Room facilities are standard which is fine. We paid for breakfast and opted for a hot breakfast but the quality of the food was really poor and tasteless. A bit disappointing!

I booked a family room with my son and granddaughter. When I arrived it was not the family room on the booking but the lady moved us to a double and 2 single room. I single was a fold down and my granddaughter complained the springs were digging into her and she couldn’t sleep. Because we were staying 2 nights I asked the receptionist to put a proper mattress on but she said non was available and she could put on a duvet to make it better but unfortunately this was no good and made no difference so she had another bad night. I spoke to a different receptionist the next morning and she said that thicker mattresses are on the new beds but unfortunately they’ve not received any yet. It beggars belief that they would willingly put anyone on a bed that’s not fit for purpose knowingly.

Got parkes easily on arrival. Parking free. McDonald and car garage next door along with a Tesco a few minutes away. On check in was offered an additional tow but was not alerted to a meal deal offer- until friends mentioned this- or offered to book tables. Had to type car reg into a separate screen which I didn't understand. Our room was in new bit. To get to this you had to go outside to go in again. We got soaked in rain. Signage to 1st floor not clear. Had to ask bar staff to find out way. There was no vending machine in the new part of the building which would have been handy. Found dirty teaspoon in room. No storage in room. Older rooms have a drawer under mirror. Unable to change temperature in room- set at 24- and with this heatwave it was roasting. We had a meal on the Thursday night and breakfast Friday and Saturday morning. I had continental and my friend had continental one day and cooked the other. All the food and service was amazing. Drinks were cheap. Lift broken in old section. I don’t think there was a lift in new section. On check out I handed the key. The member of staff showed little interest but transaction was quick. Our wedding was at Dundas Castle so was ideal location. I paid £132 for both nights for 2 people which I felt was reasonable. Hotel close to main roads and I didn’t hear any noise. The window was open all night for ventilation. I would go back to this hotel again. I think with a few minor improvements this hotel could be better.

I have stayed here several times and never been disappointed. Room was clean and tidy and although I did get a good nights sleep the room was very warm, even with the windows open, but every where was warm so really not much they could have done, although there was a bit fan in the room. Food was as good as ever and cracking breakfast. Only wee downside was the language in the bar at night while having a drink, especially with children there. Will use it again.

I stayed at Premier Inn South Queensferry on Friday 1st July in Room 1. We checked out on Saturday 2nd July around 12 mid-day. On Sunday 3rd July around 9pm I realised I didn’t have my AirPods. I checked “FindMy” app and it showed the AirPods having pinged at the South Queensferry hotel on 2nd July at 4:10pm - this means someone at the hotel connected my AirPods to their phone at this time. I phoned reception and spoke to someone who informed me that the room had not been sold since we stayed there and that nothing had been handed in to lost property. The AirPods were in my husband’s black shoe, which also hadn’t been handed in. I was advised to report this to the police and the hotel advised me they would investigate. On 7th July, the AirPods pinged at a residential address in South Queensferry and continued to do so for a few days. Clearly someone living in that street had my AirPods. I reported this to the police and the South Queensferry Hotel. On Sunday 10th July the AirPods pinged back at the Premier Inn South Queensferry Hotel. I immediately phoned the hotel and informed them and I was advised that the Head Housekeeper was going to be interviewing staff that day. On Sunday evening the Head Housekeeper phoned to say they hadn’t found the AirPods. I told the gentleman that they were pinging from what appeared to be the hotel carpark which he sounded quite surprised at. He said he’d asked all the staff on shift to empty coats and bags etc but they hadn’t found anything. He said he was going to go and check the carpark. On the morning of Monday 11th July, the gentleman phoned me to say that the AirPods had ‘turned up in a place they’d already searched’ and it was ‘well hidden’. The AirPods have since been returned to me, with the shoe, although it took a further 2 days for them to be posted, the entire time they were pinging at the hotel. Now, I haven’t been expressly told that the AirPods were stolen by a member of hotel staff, but I think you’ll agree that this is extremely suspicious. The hotel room was not sold after we vacated it, and for them to then go to a residential address and back to the hotel after I constantly phoned, sent emails with screenshots etc, and then after an investigation, they miraculously turn up… I am absolutely outraged that such a reputable hotel chain employs staff who are not honest or law abiding. I was patient and gave the hotel time to locate my AirPods, however, I do not feel that they particularly prioritised my complaint, and I basically did all of the work to get them found. I have also reported this to Premier Inn Head Office who have just ‘apologised’ for the inconvenience. They can apologise for staff who steal from paying guests, yet if you don’t have a good nights sleep they can fully refund the cost of your room? I think perhaps Premier Inn have their priorities in the wrong place.

Really disappointed with the poor quality of the beds which are normally really good at premier inn. The rooms have no air conditioning so we had to sleep with the windows open which was impossible with the constant coming and going in the car park with taxis etc.

Having arrived late from our trip late we were greater by lovely staff. Unfortunately the room dis not live up to expected premier inn standards. Firstly it was a warm day and we only had a fan for cooling the room no air con. However more of a concern was the bed for our son. You could feel every spring it was like trying to sleep on a bed of nails. We ended up sleeping 3 in a bed not ideal with an early start to visit the golf open championship

Hotel is quite cut-off without transport and taxis were extremely unreliable. The hotel policy of one hand towel per double room is totally unacceptable. Our room was quite hot and stuffy in warm weather
