went here last summer 2012 with my family for a daytrip. entrance fee 150 for kids and 300 for adults which includes swimming only. if ur an adult and u dont want to swim, its 150 entrance fee. quite expensive if u ask me. we didnt know the rates coz they dont have website yet so we just went there. better call ahead and ask so you wont be as surprised as we are when we went there regarding the amenities or lack there of since resort was still on going construction in some parts when we were there. we took a tigbauan jeepney from iloilo wet market, other jeepneys like guimbal and san joaquin pass by there too but u have to walk about 5mins from main road going to the resort. jeepney fare was around 18 pesos per person.
good thing about our visit was when we met the owner, he was really nice and soft spoken. he said that he wanted his resort to be something different, although people pay up high but they get quality and a high class resort. which is true, the resort is comparable to a 5-star hotel in boracay or the like.
they have 3 pools, 2 for kids and another bigger one for adults. i like the sunken bar/canteen coz u can sit/stay in the pool while having a beer or a cocktail. some staff are nice, others not so. the security guard was quite rude and the gay guy in the bar/canteen wasnt very helpful, but the lady who showed us around was welcoming.
GOOD: very nice surroundings for photo ops, clean, well maintained, accessible
BAD: quite expensive, some staff needs to improve more on customer service

We wanted to enjoy and relax for the day and so we went to this resort.
Overall, my ratings are as follows:
Promo: 1
Facilities: 4
Food: 2
Service: 2
In summary, do not get the promo. And if you have a car, it is a better idea to go out and eat rather than order from this resort. But it still is a nice place to just relax and swim and spend time with the family. Still giving this resort a 3 instead of 2. Despite our disappointments, what was important was that we had fun with the family. However, we will think twice about coming back. There are other resorts which may give you better value for money.
DO NOT GET THE GROUP PROMO. This is a really bad marketing ploy. We felt like we were cheated by the promo because you will pay the same amount anyway if you get the individual day use and you will at least have the choice of ordering whatever food you want. Their group promo says "1k consumable" but they will give you a set package and not give you the freedom of choice based in the menu. The lady who took care of us did not explain that although the package says "good for 10" the food is NOT good for 10. We were given 2 pcs of chicken, 2 pcs of pork chop, an order of chopsuey and 8 small cups of rice. So does that mean a piece of chicken is good for 5 people? We had to order more food and wait 45 minutes for the addl food to arrive. The resort should do a better job at marketing and setting the right expectations with the customers.
FACILITIES:4
I like it that the place is clean and they maintained it well. It's expensive for Iloilo standards but it also means that not a lot of people will go and so it was not full. The pools are small to moderate size and the water is not too chlorinated and clean. There was a time that the ladies' restroom smelled but the staff took care of it after I reported this. My only complaint would be that there is no private shower rooms. If you went here for day use, you are forced to soap and shampoo in the outside showers outside the restrooms. NO LIFEGUARD.
FOOD: 2
The menu is limited. Food was bland. Ilonggos are picky eaters. We are known for our great cuisine and so the food was disappointing. We tried the pancit bihon (dry), grilled chicken (so-so), buttered chicken (a bit bitter. Did they use used oil?), chop suey (so-so), club sandwich (ok), burger (ok), grilled pork (ok), fruit shakes were good but do not order the chocolate shake. It tasted like medicine and there was nothing chocolatey about it.
We asked for SERVICE WATER. The waiter gave us one pitcher and told us this was the LAST. If we wanted more, WE HAD TO PAY FOR SERVICE WATER. Whaaaaaaaat???????
SERVICE:2
During lunch we were the only customers in the shaded area near the jacuzzi. There was no waiter in sight! Not even in the bar area. It seems like they all have lunch the same time their customers have lunch. We had to go around the resort to find one. Our companion found all of them huddled in one area talking and even had to shout to get their attention. I am still giving them a 2 because they were pleasant and very apologetic about our complaints. I hope management gives them better training and oversees them well. Their people need a strong leader and close supervision.

This place has some positive and negative about it. On the positive note, the area or ambiance is ok, large infinity pool, clean surrounding and above all very friendly staff. However, on the negative side, the management's policy for us to pay as you enter the premises, pay as you order food or services... was a little bit inappropriate. I never encountered this kind of policy. The food and beverage prices are VERY expensive. We did not enjoy the food to be honest, not worth it.

Absolutely the most terrible place we’ve been to.
In the beginning, we had a great time, until check out.
They claim that there had been 1 face towel that’s been missing and that we had to pay for it. But that shouldn’t be the case because we brought our own things, towels included.
Unfortunately (and disappointingly), before I even get the chance to retaliate, my husband just paid for it to make the matter close and done. Saying, “karma’s gonna get them even someday”.
Tip (if you still plan to stay in this resort despite this negative review telling you to look for other options):
Make sure you take a good video of the room before you get in.

The absolutly worst place we seen in the PH in the 10 years we have been here. Really dirty pool, dirty room, a lot of dead bugs everywhere in the room, ants in the bed) extremly limited menu, broken things everywhere. If you want to order something you have to go find the waiter.
The only nice thing about the place was the housekeepinglady, she was sooo helpful.

I wish I could write our entire experience here at this so called "Paradise Resort" but I don't think I would have enough space.
The staff lack training and very poor customer service. This resort assures that all the fees are collected upon entry with the strict security but do not assure that the guests will have the excellent experience during the visit. And It seems as if you are not foreigner you will get dIfferent treatment. Why??? I paid just as much as they did, if not more!!
Entrance fee is expensive, not worth it at all. 250 pesos per adult ( I guess they consider 10 years old an adult here) and 150 pesos per child, whether u will be using the swimming pools amenities or not. AND, they charge 100 pesos per bag if you bring in food, AND they do not allow any sort of drinks, they supposedly offer you a pitcher of water.
We were ok with all that. If that's the rule, we follow the rules.
But once your money is collected the experience was HORRIBLE!!
They don't allow guests to bring in drinks and they provide water upon request, and just like their service, very slow!!! Over an hour of waiting for our food, they did not give us water, even after atleast requesting 3 times when almost all the food has been consumed. I had to walk to the front office to complain did they finally bring us ONE pitcher of water with FOUR glasses, WHEN WE PAID FOR ATLEAST 25 PERSONS!!!! They expected us to drink and rotate the glass??!!!
Then this is where It got really bad--my 10 year old hands me an undercooked chicken (i mean with blood!!) after eating almost all of it, to ask me if it's cooked!!!!!!! NO ITS NOT COOKED!!!! seriously we waited over an hour and we are served uncooked chicken??!!! Absolutely unacceptable!! I ask for a manager and I'm told "sorry ma'am we don't have a manager" so I ask who can I speak with to address my concerns. She brings back someone who introduces himself as "not" the manager but will listen to my concerns, useless.....
Don't waste your time and money here.
That night my son started vomiting and was confined in the hospital for 3 days due to food poisoning. That's why I'm really upset. This "resort" put my sons health in jeopardy due to the incompetence.
I wanted to return to that resort but did not have the time because our vacation days were coming to an end.
Because of this bad experience we, especially my son, did not get to enjoy and experience Iloilo. We are just happy that my son has recovered.

I would not be writing anything scathing had I not experienced it myself. Me and my friends decided to have an overnight stay in this resort. We were very attracted to the beautiful scenic pictures featured over the net. Not to mention that it was just a few minutes away from the city of Iloilo, and third it promised to be a good break away from the bustling metropolis.
The Cabana rooms I have to admit were rather pricey, but we told ourselves, despite it, this might prove to be a relaxing and good stay, being an expensive place and all. Upon our arrival, were immediately got excited because the site that greeted us was spectacular. The moment we were shown our room, we even got more excited, as it was probably one of the nicest local resort accommodation we've had so far.
But it all went downhill from there, the moment we went out in the afternoon to enjoy the sites and the pool, not to mention anticipating the bar service in the sunken bar. First we noticed that the pool lights popped out of its sockets, as we went near the floating pool light, we noticed that it was being held down by it electrical wiring, which made us all inside the pool really feel uncomfortable. I personally informed the student intern as no staff or lifeguard was by the people to oversee things. This in itself is a gross safety issue, they should not allow swimmers to use the pool unless they have made necessary repairs of the pool lights, are the owners/management waiting for an accident to happen and fry everyone in the pool if ever?
Next their service crew does not seem to know how to take orders properly, I ordered for Watermelon shake, and have gotten a Caramel shake instead.
As if this was not enough, the meals was the most terrible of it all. You come into the restaurant, order your food from their menu with limited choices, only to be told they have "sold out" or it being"out-of-stock". Then to make matters worse we order, whats available, only to be served mediocre food. For the price we are paying, this was definitely unacceptable!
We more or less expected breakfast to be better, but when it arrived, we got the sorriest looking breakfast, for the price of the room (where breakfast was included), to pay 5,500 for one night, we should expect something like the breakfast served in Hotel del Rio or Sarabia Manor(incidentally, this type of room in these hotels would cost much less and would just be as beautiful) Instead we got served, day old sliced stale bread instead of toast to go with our Bacon and Eggs, plate without garnishing, and just show the kitchen staff did not give a damn.
I blame the management for not getting competent people to manage and train the staff. I discovered later on that their Chef and his assistant were not around, and no one at night acts a manager who can address the complaints of their customers.
It's sad really, as this is such a beautiful place to actually stay in. But the service, most especially the food is not commensurate to the huge amount they charge for accommodations.
unless drastic changes would occur, I pointedly told the staff, that I would never ever bring any visitors their way!

We book a villa for 3 nights, friday to monday.
pretty difficult to find, the muddy road didnt help.
but when we arrrived, i was amazed by the quality of the resort, clean, decorated with taste,...
the villa seemed secured, behind that door, cosy, with a garden and private terrasse where we could have breakfast.
Then we were hopping then to enjoy that beautiful pool...but...it was crowded.
48 people in the pool (friday 2pm), pretty small pool by the way, as the kiddy pool is as big but...empty, kids prefer the jacuzi part off the adult pool, and althought it s written that the jacuzi i not a kiddie pool, nobody respect it nor make it respected.
well, that was a big disappointment, there is abolutly nothing to do but this pool, and the next day it was even more crowded, the resort allows daystrippers, people coming from outside just to enjoy the resort for the day. on sunday, i counted 208 daystrippers...nowhere to sit, not even 1m² free space in the pool.
nightmare.
when u pay 7200pesos pe night, and u realize that the manager gives you no importance, and allow people from outside to come for a 200 pesos fee, u feel like u wasted money, i came to enjoy a resort not a public pool.
and while we were checked when we got back to the resort for food and drinks (forbidden), daytrippers simply come with their own food and drinks in isotherm boxes and squat the tables and chairs...
i will add many things to the down side of this resort:
-in 3 days, the room has never been cleaned, and we were 3, so one matress on the ground, so we werre expecting it to be done, without begging reception for it. they give absolutly no service unless u ask for it...really a shame.
-At 6pm u must order ur breakfast for the morrning, or u d get nothing, and still, they forgot us twice
-at 7pm the chef leaves the boat, so u cant order food anymore. Resort? keep in mind there s nothing around, or u could just do like u, get dinner at sol y mar
-at 8pm all the stuff leave the resort but the guard, they close all the lights, the gates to the beach (no walk on the beach by night!!!), dead resort. the only positive point? no more daytrippers, the pool is all yours, at ur on risk (no light, nobody for ur safety). impossible to get a bottle of water or anything. Scary and irresponsible.
-there is a shower on the beach as well as a foot pool to get rid of the sand before getting back to the resort...but they off them when daytrippers arrive, to save the water they say...one stuff told us the just use the garden hose, but superman arrived (manager) and scolded us, even insulted us "idiots", because we were wasting that precious water. That as too much, we ll never come back :)
-absolutly no privacy:
the curtains are seethrough, same in bathroom, i ll add a pic where curtons are down in shower and in the living room...we can clearly see althought both curtains are down
although there is a door to give the villas some privacy and security, daytrippers keep on adventuring all day, taking pics,...and again nobody to keep an eye on thiss matter.
-the food is awful, the breakfasst is very poor, choice as well as quantity, we ordered lunch once, i ve never eaten such awful noodles, overcooked, tasteless, ......why? all their food is just frozen, It was very obvious with the chicken curry dish and tempura. go to eat to sol y mar. tasty and cheaper than this dog food
-the stuff need training, all of them but the reception have been very friendly, smiling, caring, but when u order an apple oreo icecream, they refused cos the person in charge of this recipe wasn t there, an he didnt know how to prepare it, same for the next desserts, so we gave up.
-70% of the dishes on the menu were not available, and 50% of the drinks (soft or juices),
-we must wear a wrist band to enjoy the pool, bar, etc...ok, how? you must go at the reception to buy one 200 pesos...hmmm?
hahahah so we just pay like daytrippers? yes, 7200 is just the price for the villa and breakfast, ahhahaah pathetic.
-the kiddie pool i really dangerous, the border fall of of 30cm too fast, making it very slippery, even us, felt uncomfortable with it.
We were amazed when we arrived, but this resort lacks of everything, there is no service, no activities and they give none u could expect from a resort (cleaning, changing towels, etc), and somehow, felt unsecured at night (what if i get deshydrated after a whole day under the sun? cant even ask for a bottle of water).
that resort is expensive, price of 4 or 5 stars if i take into consideration it s very far from city, an lost)
so, my advice? rent anything nearby, and just come for day, u d save 7000pesos (more expensive than mactan moevenpick, 5 stars...).
there is also sol y mar resort just next to it, surely not as luxurious, but the food is really good, it s authentical and typical, way cheaper, and the owner is so friendly. We ve been told that when bearland owner was there, he dines at sol y mar (cant dine at bearland hhahahahaahhah)
NB: the funny thing is that i was given a paper asking if we d have some ideas of activities for the resort...ok ok ok. i would give u hundred, but u d have to pay me for that hahahah.
omg, when u plan to get such a business, u search about it if it s not ur chosen field.
NB2: all the pics on their site are outdated, gazebos are behind a dirty wall and fences (no more sea view) etc etc, empty beach, (no transat, etc).
pretty difficult to find, the muddy road didnt help.
but when we arrrived, i was amazed by the quality of the resort, clean, decorated with taste,...
the villa seemed secured, behind that door, cosy, with a garden and private terrasse where we could have breakfast.

We stayed in Cabana 3 for 8 nights. we arrived mid-day and were very tired from more than one day travel. It was nice of them to say that we can settle our payment when we have time. the room was ok, bed was good, but no phone. we have to go to the reception everytime we need something. There's no place you can hang your used towel if you want to use it agan. the only place is in the toilet where you can find two hooks, they have to think that their cabana can accomodate 4 persons. they provide 1 roll of toilet paper for four persons in one day. i can't understand why they don't leave extra roll. if you run out of toilet paper after 7pm, well, use your finger because there's nobody left in the resort to ask for toiletpaper execpt for the security guard who ofcourse does'nt have an access in their stock room.
Food: i give praise for the staff for making an effort to Cook dried fish for me one day since i miss eating it for breakfast. we always tell them day before what time we are going to eat the NeXT morning, but they were never on time. the only time the breakfast was ready when we came was, the time we came late for our breakfast since we knew they would be late anyway.our last morning in the resort was devastating. i requested for 7am breakfast but the food arrived more than 30 minutes late. no professionalism at all! i understand that their kitchen is outside the resort since the restaurant is under construction. but i dont understand why their two waiters/bartender didn't even gave us water or juice while we were waiting for our food. when the waiter arrived with the food, it was also him who made the juice and gave us water. should'nt they help each other???
Staff:reception staff was just OK. in our 9 days stay, i saw a lot of bystanders sitting on the top part of pavillion watching everybody swimming in the pool. some staff were not in uniform. nice of them to help us carry our things but i was really confused if they were really working for the resort. i suggest that they would train their staff specially their waiters and bartenders and teach them what SERVICE is.
i invited 5 friends to come in the resort for lunch and ofcourse i ordered lunch in the resort for 10 people (5 friends + 4 of us). but the crazy thing was, i also have to pay for my friends' entrance fees! have you tried sitting in a restaurant and paid for your tables and chairs?? that's what i felt like!
my family came for visit, and my sister forgot to bring towels. i ofcourse paid for their entrance plus swimming pool fee. this time we brought our own food like everybody does. since my sister does'nt have her towel, i asked the staff if i can barrow one. and she told me it costs 200 pesos to rent the towel! we spend more than 50,000 pesos for 8 nights in this resort and get charged 200 pesos for the towel? is this a joke??
WATER: bearland paradise resort have a nice shower, but no decent Water! my father in law was left alone in the cabana since he want to shower. but suddenly, i saw him running to the reception with shampoo on his hair and soap all over his body!
I totally does'nt recommend this resort! but i would maybe come back in this resort since this is the cleanest and closest resort to where my family lives..
